It is by far the best tutorial I have seen. I followed along with each step you did and your clear instructions, had to look at your pictures of the word page you were working on at times. But, guess what? I actually did it! I want to thank you, thank you, thank you. Not to say the others were not decent, but their explanation of what they were doing was just not concise enough to really follow. They could learn from you - You are the bomb lady.

It went so much better by saving my manuscript as a PDF before uploading. I will need to look, but if you don't have a video on proper formatting for character conversations, that would be amazing!

thanks a lot - your vid was the most helpful in formatting my book. only thing i had to do for the e-book version was just basic 'header' for the chapters, and hit return three times for some space before starting text for each chapter. was able to then easily create and edit table of contents later. so thanks a lot. couldn't have done it with you! so many helpful people on youtube!

Thanks - I've been researching next steps now that my book is done (5 edits, proofreadings, beta readers, etc.). I wrote on my MAC in pages so I just got word so I can cut and paste this into that (before considering if I want a professional formatting) and this video is what I am going to use. Excited for this step. Next step is the cover design and then probably ordering a proof copy before I release my book to the world. Thanks so much!

Any advice on setting up things like the inside title page, table of contents, dedication, introduction, acknowledgements, or author bio? Also what would you reccomend to do for the back cover/synopsis of the book when self publishing through Amazon?
Wow! Thank you; your tutorial was so easy to learn. I spent ages trying to format, and to no avail, especially my page numbers which kept changing every time I put in a header, and I couldn't figure out why. Anyway, your tutorial helped enormously. Thank you
Writers tend to be creative. When it comes to publishing copy the experts. Select a newly released book from a noted author, one that will be on the NYT bestseller list. The book will provide the book size, page size, and book layout. Select a random page of full text and type that page in Word. Select the exact font style and size. Then adjust margins, header and footer spacing, and line spacing until exactly matches the published book. Do the same for the header and footer. I held my printed page to the published book for an exact match. Then I did the same for the chapter match. Once complete, save format for books you intend to publish. Now, I had the winning publishing formula for a best seller. Always use Microsoft Word styles' for formatting, not individual indents and such.

You can also just use two line spaces instead of hash tags as long as you start the new scene flush left. And you can start each flush left graf off with small caps or something. All kinds of tricks out there.

Most authortubes don't really talk about Microsoft Word.
You're very welcome! I use InDesign as well, but that program is a BEAST to learn, so I typically recommend Microsoft Word 😊
