😱 I remember when my daughter brought home a goldfish prize from a street fair. It's been nearly ten years, went from a ten gallon to a 40 gallon, to what we have now - two 75 gallon aquariums and a 125 gallon one. One of the precious little feeders grew to be just over a foot long. Tell the newbies to get educated about fish; this is not a non-maintenance hobby. ...Thank you for all your clips on the tube.
that's an awesome story :) That's best case scenario, instead of letting the fish suffer, y'all went deeper into fishkeeping in order to take care of it properly. Proof that each fish is important.
I also have had a Red comet goldfish survive 18 years.
I was at a Petsmart once, and a dad was there with his daughter and his little precious had just won a goldfish as a prize at some horrible fish abuse carnival or something and he was looking to find an aquarium for the fish. To his credit, he asked the PetSmart employee, and the employee sort of paused for a second, and gave 100% accurate fish care guidance. You could see dad was not happy. He then hopped on his phone and I'm guessing, saw that employee was right. I didn't see what he purchased, but I really, REALLY wish fish as prizes was made illegal.
I’m kind of nervous now after seeing this comment because my neighbor gave me three fair goldfish and I only have a 20 gallon tank…😬😬😬

i wanted some platies a few days ago and i had to convince my dad that we need a 10 gallon tank instead of a 5 gallon, im now $105 in debt but its worth it 😁
update: they all quickly because of pH levels 😥
But luckily now I have some Neon Tetras + new water and they have lived for about 2 weeks now happy and healthy!

I gave my daughter a betta fish and put it in a plastic .5 gallon tank with pink gravel, an artificial plant, and a bright pink castle 🤢😩 but since watching your videos he’s now in a 10 gallon planted tank all alone (with one snail) and eating bloodworms❤️🤗

I don't have fish but I have snake and I went to Walmart to see if they had atleast one good fake plant. Literally all of them were so awful I left q bit upset
I worked at petco for 3 weeks. My last day I wrote a 6 page care sheet on the fish and wrote my resignation on the bottom of page 6. Then I reported the animal abuse to corporate
The worst for me was the kid spitting the water. Classic goldfish abuse turns so rare and special when it's doubling down as an actual risk for a human child

I basically drank fish poop by starting the siphon by sucking on the tube when I was 12 or so. I lived haha. That said, I totally agree with you.
I had that first tank with the clock and pencil holders.
I had a fake battery operated fish in it and it still wasn't big enough just for it.
The only thing that should go in them is plants or brine shrimp. Heck brine shrimp is a stretch (but I've seen them live in a tic tac container - artimeadaddy experement) I'd still hesitate to put anythin in that than plants.
I had a coworker who used to use goldfish instead of minnows for fishing. I would tell him about it and the danger's of doing that, unfortunately I think he was a relative of Forest Gump.

The first or the "mini lake" were the worst. I'm tilting towards the puddle because what it can do to it's surroundings. But it is also frustrating to see so many fish cramped up together where they can barely move.
I think the rabbit and dog cage are for temporary use so it's not as bad. I hope it's temporary...

yeah I think in the sense of which video would have the most negative impact... that puddle vid for sure, it could potentially end more than 100,000+ lives and organisms
The bad thing for the rabbit cage is the wire bottom. It’s really bad for the rabbit’s feet since they only have fur, not pads. It causes sore hocks and other issues over time.
Ahhh nothing hurts more than a younger family member “fixing” your fish tank
My nephew fed dog food to my brother in laws cherry shrimp breeding colony (which had been breeding for a year straight). There were only a few survivors
That turtle had no basking spot or light. Maybe that child was trying to put that turtle out of its misery. Or more likely it was all staged.

My pea puffers puffed up at my Pomeranian it was actually funny. It only happened once though and wasn’t on purpose. Mr fluff puff just seen this furry critter staring at it lol! The aquarium was on my nightstand at the time.

You should watch the show “Tanked” it’s basically a show where these two guys turn random things into tanks but you should see if you agree with their stocking choices and the space of tanks and stuff and make a video on it

me looking at some of these tanks while my betta is in a planted, scaped, heated and filtered home with a good diet and shrimpy friends...
How do you keep shrimp with them. My betta literally HUNTS anything in it… even flares at the substrate..
@@tooclean_1253 Brightly colored shrimps like cherry shrimp can be big targets. Have u tried ghost shrimp or amanos? Those are the only ones I've had success keeping with my bettas

Not even joking, my sister had that tank from the start of this video. She... you guessed it. Put a betta in it. Oh but she didn't stop there, there was clearly too much room still so she put in not 1, not 2 but 3 neon tetras in with the betta. She was so confused as to why the betta killed the neons, and why the betta later died. It lived for 2 weeks.
How dumb can a Person be?
That 0.6 gallon that the people put the goldfish in could be great as a mini aquascape with maybe 2-3 shrimp in there. :)
i would love to put an amano shrimp or two in there since they are so large and lively.

Cylinder tank. Could be hydrocotyle (not sure that’s spelled correctly) but I think it’s Taiwan Lily’s. Have them in one of my tanks. Their great. TikToks……. Kinda glad I’m to old for that.
Edit: I looked again. Might be a combination of both plants. Anyway. I’m inspired. It’s lovely. Good work to whoever sent that in 👏 👏 👏

That appears to be an air cooled PC, which would be heating up the fish tank a negligible amount, leaving the water too cold if anything. The temperatures you quote are for the chips themselves though, and are taken from directly inside of their lids, a tiny little one square inch piece of metal reaches those temperatures, which you attach a large heatsink to dissipate the heat.
That first tank actually could have been something really cool. Maybe like a mini moss garden with snails and shrimp or a planted dutch style with some chilli rasboras.
Video game with slightly better fishkeeping: The Sims 4. There's a bunch of goofy stuff too, (like being able to overstock tanks, fish bowls, etc.) but the bigger tanks look like they'd easily be 75-90+ gallon tanks, and there's even a full planted pond you can buy and stock with several different fish.
Worst clip by far was the betta bowl growing slime mold on top.

The most proper portrayed Fish Tank I’ve ever seen in a video game is in Detroit become human they have neon tetra in their bluedorf Grammies and Cory Dora is it’s a great community tank it looks amazing and they’re all schooling together
I'd like betta fish don't get me wrong, some species are incredibly pleasing to keep and view, but there's so many beautiful species of nano fish I'd choose to stock a smaller tank 5g and up with, over a betta any day...

I saw black samurai at my LFS I was very impressed, it was so perfect looking that it almost didn't look real 😳 if I had the setup running for it I would of bought it but, honestly I'd want to do a really nice scaped tank for that betta if I wanted to keep it.. That kind of fish deserves it because it's so beautiful hopefully someone thought the same and gave him a good setup 🙏
I went from a 2 gallon tank for a betta (My mom bought it when I was younger) to a 10 gallon :) My betta's name is toby, and he is a wimp but that's okay. I thought male bettas were supposed to be aggressive but I always get the ones that are weaker

TBF I've been looking for that first "tank" because I'd love to have some plants, and maybe a snail or a shrimp and two while they grow out.

@@polecatpaws most sharks swim constantly and will bump their nose on the corners of a square tank and do damage to their sensory organs. In some cases this can kill the shark.

That first one hurt, omg! We had that awful little tank at one point with multiple small carnival goldfish in it. It was a nightmare to properly clean, and when one fish got sick, all of them followed. We now only have one goldfish kept in a bigger tank (not sure on measurements admittedly...it's probably still on the too-small side if I had to guess, honestly) and its scales went from dull gray to shiny orange in the time we've had it. It's been about 3 years now, and we're all very attached to the little fella.
The fish tanks in mass effect weren't amazing, but they were at least realistic based on the possible leaps and bounds in futuristic fish filtration

My Betta who got acclimated for 30 mins, placed into a 15 gal full of live plants with, Indian almond leaves, added vitamins to strengthen immune system, natural medication to prevent stress related illnesses as well as bacterial infections, aquarium salt, fed live brine shrimp and daphnia and extra black water extract for general health, on his third day: Kinda wanna vibe with severe swim bladder until I die a week later ;)
Last time I get a halfmoon twin tail Betta, gonna stick to my crown tails.

Chris, those PC temperatures are at the CPU core. Ambient temps inside the case could well be within acceptable range for tropical fish. However, the other issues with that, um, "tank" are extremely obvious.
Whenever I am feeling negative about my aqua scape or skills I’m general this really makes me feel better 😅

09:00 That's protein on the surface. It's a clear sign of overfeeding and poor water quality.
To get rid of it:
- Feed less
- Clean your filter (not deep clean, but rinse it and remove larger chunks) DO NOT SCRUB IT
- Clean your substrate with a sucky thingy
- Change water more frequently

Just want to give props to the good LFS's out there. I am lucky to live 15 minutes from an excellent one. I was there yesterday (like almost every Saturday) just looking around (so of course I ended up getting a couple crypts and some java moss) when I watched a teenaged staff member calmly and patiently talk an old man out of severely overstocking a bunch of cheap goldfish. I thought of you, Chirs.
My LFS recommends to newbies that they should keep their fish in a cup instead of a tank. Watched someone once walk out with a half gallon tank and a discus.

I've thought of a fish PC to where it's connected to the tank kinda like a sump but fish poop would get in the fins of the water blocks for the PC so it'll clog fast.

My barber actually bought a replica of the first one and since i work with fish he asked me for a mollie i gave it to him but told him to do water changes everyday
The dog crate is actually (slightly on the small size) appropriately sized ASSUMING its not spending more then 3-4 hours at a time. For sleeping and long term housing, no. For short safety based containment, yes.

I just want to point out a thing about the pc fishtank. First, if the water cooling pump was actually connected to the pc, it wouldn't be water in it and the fish would NOT be alive. Second, dont worry about the heat because we can clearly see that the tubes are not connected to the cpu and the setup doesn't have a gpu. In fact, the cpu has a fan so its a fake water cooling pump setup with real water and a beta in it. No heat generated by the pc is going in that water.

For such a small tank, if you do want to stock it then shrimp and snails are probably best. At most maybe a very small school of some type of teeny tiny tetras?

most of my fish died pretty early on (due to how the store kept them) apart from one goldfish which may as been the fish god because he survived like almost 2 year
In Hit Man 2 one of the missions there is a whole aquarium exhibit . Not to sure how accurate it is tbh
