my uncle has a collection like this not as big but he has been collection transformers since he was a kid its impressive how you guys have kept them sealed all this time when I was a kid and got a toy I was always so quick to open them never kept them in the box
I opened all mine as a kid as well. The sealed ones are ones I’ve acquired over the years. This is actually quite old now. You might want to check the update as it’s very different now

I actually have to strongly disagree on that assessment. The newer Transformer Toys are better quality and better detail. Also the newer G1 toys match the G1 Cartoon Transformers far closer than the original toys that were actually redeco Diaclones.
@@dmonsef There is no doubt but the G1 toys have a charm due to the style and limitations of manufacturing at the time. There is also the limited availability due to people not realizing that toys were more than a consumable distraction for children.

I have been reading lots of pre transformers forums. And it seems that most are either confused on who came first. I have a collection of GIG, Diaclone wich got their rights from Takara right before Hasbro bought rights, that puts it at 1980 to 1984. I have several boxes with dates and either their respective coin denomination. My take in all of this ( and after seeing with my eyes and carefully examining).. is that Diaclone and GIG, specially GIG had the name TraSformer (without) the N, 4 years before Hasbro "borrowed" the name. I have boxes that prove exactly that. Maybe one of these days I'll make a video to put this to rest. :)

My parents tryed there best to get prime when he come out,christmas 84 ?, it was months later after restock i got him-that was at russell and dorrell but got my megatron from the local post office of all places jetfire was a birthday present at russell and dorrell--they had loads of toys back in the 80's impressive collection by the way

I like the Omnibots, especially the ironically named Camshaft as the rotary engine in an RX-7 (which is his alt mode) is totally devoid of a camshaft! My G1 collection is coming along quite well, but I've decided to not include Pretenders and Action Masters though as I have zero interest in those. Instead I'm cutting off at Headmasters and Targetmasters. (Basically I'm going for characters included up until the Sunbow cartoon ended. I saw your Snapdragon and that's one of the Headmasters I'm going after first.) Great collection sir!

Liking the box + figure in modes type of display, not easy to find displays like that. Has got me thinking about trying something similar... Am curious to know, how do you decide who become shelf buddies (i.e. deciding on who goes where)? Usually the answers are like putting all mold-mates together, cartoon/comic scenes, order of favourites, order of when collected, etc.
I suppose I categorise them. Sometimes I split them up simply between decepticons and Autobot. Like with the combiners. Powermasters and headmasters. I also did Autobot cars, decepticon jets. Then put all the pretenders, micromasters together.
@@mechazilla in all honesty I can’t really answer that. But I think at what you’re getting at would make more sense. Like ratchet and ironhide on one. Sideswipe and either red alert or sunstreaker together on another. I just put them up they way they are now and have been like that for years. I’m going to have a think and change it now. Need to decide which way to do it though. I think the only thing that I consciously did was put the tripple changers together.

Great collection mate. I’m in the process of doing mine. I’m staying away from getting boxed figures. I have a few boxed ones but keeping them in storage. Takes up too much display space.
My favourite figure as a child was scorponok. I need to update that video. A grail I managed to get was big powered. Who is dai atlas, sonic bomber and road fire combined and that’s because I never thought I’d own them. I needed a 15 month payment plan to save for them. I’ve done videos on them. A grail I want and haven’t got yet is grandus.

In honesty I did have these toys as a child, but made the stupid mistake of selling them all at a school fete. I started collecting properly as an adult again in the early 2000’s. you should keep an eye on eBay as they always pop up. I’ve stopped looking since I collected them all. I have loads of fond memories waiting on a Saturday for the paper boy to bring me mine. glad it brought back some good memories for you too.
yeah most people in the uk in the 80’s had a paperboy. I was one too in the early 90’s. every Saturday rolled up in the middle of the local paper was my comic!!
That’s how it all starts! Just want one or two figures. Then I might as well get him and him etc. Then boom. Hope you get the ones you want. Lee us informed and if you’d like a particular figure showcasing let me know.

I had most of the toys up to 1987 (except the guns, and mail orders like the Omnibots) I was thinking of doing a video on the books like the Ladybird UK books I have, and the Big Looker Storybooks. I would love to see the UK comics in video. I did a video recently actually of the Target 2006 story using my comics.
Funnily enough I just dug all them books out for my little lad. With regard to the comics they’ve just re issued them all again under hachette partworks. Did you see the other 4 parts of the tour yet?

@@ToysareRuss 😮lol I got a sneek peek 😂😂 and he got changed to Octone cuz someone else bought the name so if transformers use that name they have to pay like 400$ per box produced. And the money goes to the company which has his name patented unlike others like main optimus and Megatron who are main so fans won't lose interest on em.
in honesty I haven’t actually spent that much, it’s nearly paid for itself. I started off buying collections from eBay just to get the figures I wanted. then selling the rest. all of a sudden I realised that this was a fun and easy way to do it, plus from the money selling the ones I didn’t want. they paid for the ones I did!
@@ToysareRuss yeah that's the way to go. I bought most of mine about 15 years ago (damn how time flies) from ebay, buying mostly more then I needed because then you can combine on shipping, so bought e.g. 5 items, kept 2 or 3 that I wanted and sold the others. But I must say, buying whole collections or lots is probably the faster way to go. It took me very much time and still nowhere near your level of completing the collection. Although I don't particularly want them all, like the G2 I don't care for, nor the Action Masters. Still plenty left, and then there are those specific ones like Monstructor (you've got them TWICE Omg..) and Fortress Maximus. Would love to add them someday. I'm only buying very occasionally now, not in the business of selling for some time now. Just don't have the time. So it's also more costly now. I'm not in a hurry though. And I'm already out of shelf space as is. A huge bunch of newer TF are already put away in boxes. I need to get a desk out so I can put some shelves on the other wall as well ;)
To be honest I was like that too. Wasn’t interested in action masters and every time I brought a lot and there was one in it. I always sold it. Space is the biggest issue for me now too, but again like you I don’t really buy anymore. If I do it’s just an upgrade so I just swap them over. I’m starting to go more misb now too which again requires more saving! It’s still just as fun though, getting that figure / box you want.

I don’t know to be honest? I’ve not looked in ages. The only problem with the comics is they keep getting released in books etc. But I wanted the originals. Reminds me of being 6/7 years old and waiting for the paperboy every Saturday to bring me my new comic.

I’m not rich at all. I brought them when they were like £1 each and sometimes less when in a big collection. If you are prepared to search you will find good deals. Obviously now some figures are very expensive. But they weren’t 20 years ago

My favourite figure as a child was scorponok. I need to update that video.
A grail I managed to get was big powered. Who is dai atlas, sonic bomber and road fire combined and that’s because I never thought I’d own them. I needed a 15 month payment plan to save for them. I’ve done videos on them.
A grail I want and haven’t got yet is grandus.

In honesty I did have these toys as a child, but made the stupid mistake of selling them all at a school fete. I started collecting properly as an adult again in the early 2000’s.

you should keep an eye on eBay as they always pop up. I’ve stopped looking since I collected them all. I have loads of fond memories waiting on a Saturday for the paper boy to bring me mine. glad it brought back some good memories for you too.

yeah most people in the uk in the 80’s had a paperboy. I was one too in the early 90’s. every Saturday rolled up in the middle of the local paper was my comic!!

I still had VERY few of my TFs by the 2000s when I had a good macro lens and could take photos of small toys. I would LOVE to photograph these guys!

I had most of the toys up to 1987 (except the guns, and mail orders like the Omnibots) I was thinking of doing a video on the books like the Ladybird UK books I have, and the Big Looker Storybooks. I would love to see the UK comics in video. I did a video recently actually of the Target 2006 story using my comics.
Funnily enough I just dug all them books out for my little lad. With regard to the comics they’ve just re issued them all again under hachette partworks. Did you see the other 4 parts of the tour yet?

And the money goes to the company which has his name patented unlike others like main optimus and Megatron who are main so fans won't lose interest on em.

in honesty I haven’t actually spent that much, it’s nearly paid for itself. I started off buying collections from eBay just to get the figures I wanted. then selling the rest. all of a sudden I realised that this was a fun and easy way to do it, plus from the money selling the ones I didn’t want. they paid for the ones I did!
@@ToysareRuss yeah that's the way to go. I bought most of mine about 15 years ago (damn how time flies) from ebay, buying mostly more then I needed because then you can combine on shipping, so bought e.g. 5 items, kept 2 or 3 that I wanted and sold the others. But I must say, buying whole collections or lots is probably the faster way to go. It took me very much time and still nowhere near your level of completing the collection. Although I don't particularly want them all, like the G2 I don't care for, nor the Action Masters. Still plenty left, and then there are those specific ones like Monstructor (you've got them TWICE Omg..) and Fortress Maximus. Would love to add them someday. I'm only buying very occasionally now, not in the business of selling for some time now. Just don't have the time. So it's also more costly now. I'm not in a hurry though. And I'm already out of shelf space as is. A huge bunch of newer TF are already put away in boxes. I need to get a desk out so I can put some shelves on the other wall as well ;)
To be honest I was like that too. Wasn’t interested in action masters and every time I brought a lot and there was one in it. I always sold it. Space is the biggest issue for me now too, but again like you I don’t really buy anymore. If I do it’s just an upgrade so I just swap them over. I’m starting to go more misb now too which again requires more saving! It’s still just as fun though, getting that figure / box you want.

I don’t know to be honest? I’ve not looked in ages. The only problem with the comics is they keep getting released in books etc. But I wanted the originals. Reminds me of being 6/7 years old and waiting for the paperboy every Saturday to bring me my new comic.

I’m not rich at all. I brought them when they were like £1 each and sometimes less when in a big collection. If you are prepared to search you will find good deals. Obviously now some figures are very expensive. But they weren’t 20 years ago
