Hey there. I’m a fellow Canadian and vintage transformers enthusiast. Those are some fantastic and rare G1 and pre-transformers figures. I enjoyed hearing your memories about each one. I need to start reviewing some of my less common figures from back in the day.
I really enjoyed your video and hearing your stories. My husband and I are both Canadian TF collectors. One of my stories is how we got our G1 Fort Max back in 2000. I saw an ad in a Buy & Sell newspaper that just read transformer collection for sale. After talking to the young man over the phone, he agreed to give me first chance to buy but I lived 60kms away. He agreed to hold off selling but I had to be at his place by 9 AM the next day. The next day, on time, I was there and wondered if he was going to say he got a better offer and sold to another. Thankfully he kept his word but did say he had a couple of people ask him to jump ahead of me. As I looked through his collection he explained how his relations in Japan would often give him TFs for his birthday and at Christmas. I was very excited to see some of these TF diaclones in this lot he was selling to me. Then he explained that he did have one more TF but that was going to be a separate price because it was BIG. Like two feet big. I held my breath as he showed me Fort Max complete with box. Again this was a Christmas present but he said he didn't play with it too much so it was pretty tight. It was missing only 1 small piece but still. I didn't care. I left with his collection including the boxed Fort Max. I had to keep pinching myself as I couldn't believe I had actually found one. I even drove to my husband's work with it and we, happily, just stared in disbelief that we now had one in our collection. Then the irony of ironies is weeks later, I came across a second one, also in box which I also bought and we used that one to complete ours and then used it to trade with a friend who was also a TF collector. It was wonderful because the TFs we got are still in our collection and we treasure them a lot.
That's a very impressive top 10..... on my list would prob be my carded elite actionmaster turbomaster and the japanese operation combiner battle Gaia gift set
@@thecollector75 i see you have a fantastic Transformers channel! Stay in touch - btw I did a sequel list to the above video - th-cam.com/video/t8xZoMg7YRE/w-d-xo.html
Nice video! Your Reflector story is similar to my Omnibots story. Hasbro also sold these through Robots Points mailaways. I didn't have enough Transformers toys so didn't have enough Robot Points, but we did buy Kelloggs cereals, and they had the same promotion! So I got Camshaft! Then a year later, Kelloggs brought back the Omnibot mailaway, and I already had 1 cereal robot point left over form the previous year that I was able to use. So Then I got Overdrive. The packaging was just a generic, blank, brown, hard-paper, small envelope. Not even a bag inside, no packing material at all, but the toy was intact, with the instructions, weapons (on plastic cutout tree), and stickers. Great toys, and I can't believe that with cereal Robot points (Autobot Symbols), I otherwise got them for free!
The Dinosaur Robo Pteranodon and the Blue/Silver or Black Hood Fairlady Z figures are some of the rarest in my collection. It took some time before I was able to collect those.
I still have my Fort Max from when it came out. I was 16 at the time. However with a younger brother and a mother who didn’t understand the need to keep boxes, I don’t have it. I also have a brown knockoff Grimlock with back ridges, gold arms and feet and a nose horn. Lost the accessories years ago. Only other dinobots I have are Swoop and Snarl. They need repairs lol. Great collection!
Nice, I really love the blue Sedan! I love the mail line of the classic stuff, but I'm a strange person and would love to find some of the really odd (and, some of it really dumb,) stuff, like Sandbot, Powercycle, Radio AM Robot, the green Estrela Bat-Robô Pick-Up, Dorvak Bonaparte Tulcas, Diaclone Gats Blocker, and any of the Trasformer stuff made by GiG.
I have g1 thundercracker. It was my very first transformer. The cockpit windshield broke off when I was young and the hands were lost, but it was still one of my favorite.
Woah! 😳🤯 I started collecting Transformers about 10 years ago. Some of my latest rare buys were the sideswipe pre rub Takara version - I got a diaclone red sunstreaker- and the one I had been wanting for years g1 overlord!! Loved the video and your list is stellar!! Deathsaurus is another I've wanted forever. Love those mail away stories. I also have the g1 starsabre and need liokiaser to complete. Some of my favorites are- powermaster prime- and the genrai version. As well as purple Takara g1 galvatron. It's nice to see videos of top shelf collecting!!
Just found your channel on a nostalgia trip, planning to get all my old g1 tf's in my mother's attic and put them on shelves. They'll all be rather err... battle scarred.. I played mine to death as a kid (no regrets tbh). Just cleaned and tightened screws on Slag (G1). He's pretty worn out and his tail mechanism is all floppy now but that has it's own charm/memories I think lol.
This was an awesome video, thanks for sharing! I have had some of these in my collection over the years. Downside I passed over many early on & over the years had to sell off when my family need money, including Blue Bacchus & Black Shadow. Still have that awesome Victory Saber, along with Overlord, Raiden & a few others.
Nice Slag. I’ve been collecting G1 and BW and now third party and some of the mainline stuff here and there, since ‘96 and I did not know that the Canadian market got that more cartoon accurate Slag.
My rarities in my collection are the trainbots that form Raiden, my IGA skywarp with the purple nose cone and reflector. I also have a complete fort max as well. I also have the ko of the Japanese Dino cassettes and the headmasters with no bodies.
I think my rarest g1 transformer toy is my red Tracks, i bought it in a toys store back in the 1980ies here in sweden, it has worn stickers and some slight yellowing on the white but his tires have hold up and it is complete else.
Nice pieces! Like a lot of kids, I lost or broke all my Transformers growing up. Over the years I acquired some of my favorites including a MIB Jetfire, who is definitely my favorite Transformer since he was just a repainted Macross VF-1S Valkyrie and I was big Robotech fan since I first watched the show in 1985. He and a loose Red Alert are the only original TFs I have but I have picked up several of the encore edition Autobot cars, Fortress Maximus, and Megatron.
In '84 I was 12 years old and now almost 50 years old and a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor of still like collecting the original g1 transformers series
Sorry to hear what you've had to go thru as I have had some health problems of my own. I am glad you commented and certainly share your passion for G1.
