Horton's Map (A Yakko's World Parody) - Happy NAIDOC Week

  • I've been thinking about making a video about Horton's map for ages (which I incorrectly kept calling Tindale's map for the longest time), and NAIDOC Week seemed like the perfect time to release it. Even though the actual ceremonies have been moved to November for obvious reasons.
    Feel free to correct my pronunciation or geography in the comments down below.
    I won't mind really, I'm always wanting to learn more.

    Hi, It looks like you have created a shapemap file to do this? If so can i get a copy this will save me hours of work for a project im doing.

    • @LinguaPhiliax
      @LinguaPhiliax  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure what a shapemap file is, but I'm sure it's way more clever than what I actually did.
      What I did was I opened the largest Horton's map I could find in Clip Studio, and traced over each 'country' individually in red, each one being a different layer.
      I then created a transparent image with just the 'countries' and desaturated it, which became the grey background at the beginning.
      I then sorted each red layer from bottom to top in the order of the song lyrics, and coloured 3 out of four of all of them in different colours - either yellow, green or blue - by changing the hue.
      I then inserted the grey background right at the bottom, and created individual png files of all the 'countries' lighting up (I had already figured out the lyrics by then), and then placed all of the individual images into a video editor with the same resolution as all the image files.
      I then finished and exported the flashing animation into its own video, and then edited the zooming in and out bits to that video, as well as putting in all of the 'country' names as they came up in the song.
      Does that help?
