I saw the motors on the rear callipers, I have not used that functionality of VCDS, I am going to give that a shot, Thank you! I know you advice wasn't intended for me, Cheers!
You can also just push quick connect fittings with wires in them to the female plug on the e-brake motor and connect them straight to the battery. If the motor doesnt move when you connect the battery, reverse the wires and run it until it until the motor stops turning automatically. Then just push the pistons in by hand, do your thing and run the same steps in reverse. It is important to drive the e-brake motor back in after the maintenance. Otherwise the car might get confused since it thinks that the e-brake is engaged while it is not. Goes without saying, that you should have your battery negative disconnected while doing this. Just did the rear brakes on my 2011 A4 like this. Worked wonders without having to have VCDS on hand.

Brake pads light is from forward pads (inner pads), or they are warn or you get false alarm coused by bad connection or broken cable from front pads. Good job!
Great job, Memphis. What a palaver to do a simple maintenance item! You will LOVE working on Greta. In comparison, the bets, timing belt, water pump, and all 3 front seals will take not much longer than getting to the serpentine belt on that Audi.

I hope your fuel sender in the Volvo's ok, coz then we will hear some swearing!
Well that was a lot of work. It is remarkable that Audi puts the engine that far forward in the engine bay, all Audis have that. It is a real struggle to get to all the belts. I wonder why you didn't replace the timing belt as well, because now you had quite some room to do that. You got from 0 to 100 in about 8.5 seconds (at 33:23), that seems to be quick enough :) Looking forward to the next Volvo episodes!

as a c6 owner, i can confirm, this video contains all the typical issues the c6 starts to have after +10years on the road. As a bonus some c6 owners have problems with rear wiper motor and rear window spray, steering wheel lock module, door locks electronics, positive terminal under the hood melting , door bottom starting to rust, third brake light does not work. If you have arms growing up from the right place (not from the ass), 50 percent of these malfunctions you can repair by self without breaking up surrounding parts
I am sure you know this but brake pad warnings work by grounding the sensor wire. May be a simple as a broken wire shorting to ground. Love the content !!!
24:00 AL bolts are use to avoid galvanic corrosion. Using FE bolts exposes the risk of contact corrosion eventually stripping the threads in the block, wich is normally a bad thing. Hence replacing them with non-AL bolts is gernerally speaking a not-so-good-idea. You can see this effect magnified in maritime context like mounting stainless to aluminium masts. Regarding the torque - I would not exceed the torque of the original spec as the threads in the block probably form the weaker link.

Wow seeing the engine bay makes me nervous, currently working on my E46 touring and compared to this Audi you have lots of space to use tools or access the belts without almost removing the front of the car. Keep up the good work, it is relaxing to see things get fixed, does not matter to me if the car is new or old. I enjoy both types op videos.
I have an e91 320d and e36 318i and it shocks me a little bit how complicated it looks compared to mine😂 in my friends 330i e91 is also enough space for replacing the belts.
Great video! It's nice to see how those cars can go a very long way if you take good care of them. A lot of labor and components to replace but, hey, what a great car you get to drive! ;)
When the car thinks the brakepads are worn, there is high chance that wires going to brake pad sensors are broken. As far as i know the way those brake pad wear sensors work is by cutting electrical connection between the two wires going to the brake pad. There is wire loop inside the brake pad material which wears off when brake pads themselves wear. I hope this made sense ;)
@@7777Android I meant that you can just connect them somewhere and see if the light goes away. My brakepads didn't come with the wear sensors, so i just connected them with a wire and no more lights.

Keeping warning lights off in the instrument cluster of an older Audi should be an Olympic sport, my 1993 V8 is a nightmare with a hacked version of VCDS on an old XP laptop and an adapter between the OBD cable and what VWAG used pre OBD standards I still have not been able to get the airbag light off, Good Times! The Volvo took me straight back to my childhood, now I find myself looking at them on auction websites. I would love to have a modern classic car, a Mercedes, Citroen. The trouble is I really don't like getting my hands dirty, being honest.....
This exactly the kind of videos I need to get inspired and go work on my car. Thank you!
haha exactly bro, my passat need some repair too and this is the motivation that I need to do it
28:49 Sick beat.
Great to see another video. It made a wet Saturday afternoon brighter :-)
Excuse me. I just love you and your Videos. The start was soo funny 😂 as i have already written you, i also have an 4F Avant FL. I wish you much joy and good luck with your Audi! Bye
Very good episode! Newer cars are as good as older cars. 👍
Awesome maintenance work carried out
Thumbs up Memphis
Always enjoy these videos
Keep posting about all your cars :) I like both old and new, and a nice mix of them on the channel is what I'm hoping for :)
Excellent English and excellent mechanical skill !!
Congratulations!!
Nice to see it rains as much in Belgium as it does here in Ireland!
400k and still going strong. I did 300,000 miles in my A4 B8 2.7tdi and on checking the UK MOT its still on the road today! Audi.
I feel your pain when the plastic part on fuel filter broke, has happened to me too 😀
Great vid dude thanks, love these Audi's almost as much as the Volvo! Get some safety specs esp. when dropping that oil and coolant, look after those eyes, you only get one pair!
Mad skills! It's nice to see you work on the Audi even if it's a modern car 😊👍🏻
absolutely love the content! I have a 2.7TDI (pretty much the same engine) and have a few similar issues, if I fill my tank my fuel gauge normally shows 3/4 full. Also I think I have EXACTLY the same headlight issue, although mine has been like that for 3 years now. I also need to change my aux belt and pulleys, it just a big job! Looking forward to seeing the Volvo again soon!
Impressive you got the headlight fixed. They can be such a pain. Well done all around.
Loving the Audi content Memphis 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Great video! It's nice to see how those cars can go a very long way if you take good care of them. A lot of labor and components to replace but, hey, what a great car you get to drive! ;)
Another great video 👍🏻 Memphis is a great channel and will continue to grow👍🏻
When the car thinks the brakepads are worn, there is high chance that wires going to brake pad sensors are broken. As far as i know the way those brake pad wear sensors work is by cutting electrical connection between the two wires going to the brake pad. There is wire loop inside the brake pad material which wears off when brake pads themselves wear. I hope this made sense ;)
ye, common issue, mine has the same message, but cables for both sides are not cheap so why bother replacing them
@@7777Android I meant that you can just connect them somewhere and see if the light goes away. My brakepads didn't come with the wear sensors, so i just connected them with a wire and no more lights.
A good tip: Open the brake fluid container / box when compressing brake pistons - Will let any air out of the system, if there is. 🙂
I love watching your videos man! As far as I can see from the video (front right wheel), I think you have to check your front wheel alignment:) Greetings from Bulgaria :)
Instead of using the windback tool you can also use and OBD tool (I use obd11) to wind back the parking brake electronically, and then push the piston back inside with a flat screw driver when the caliper is still mounted on the old discs.
Excellent video with fantastic content. Nice one mate 🤟
It's funny how except fuel level issue I encountered every single problem on my 2007 Allroad as you. Mine was 427K when I sold it, hope you can put more mileage on it to see what would be the next maintenance if I kept it. (If it doesn't rust, keep it, it's a good car)
I like this channel a lot, and all the cars shown. Good luck and greetings from Romania
Excellent you tackle the most difficult jobs and win😊
Im surprised that this channel has 83k subs only.. it should be alot bigger!
Nice to see all the different cars on your channel and how you fix them. Keep it up guys. 👍🏽😎
Memphis your videos are loved whether old or newer cars - keep them coming! 80k subs and climbing well done 👍👍👍
400,000 km I was like omg that is so many miles then I remember km not miles it has close to 250,000 miles on it. You have another 250,000 to go once you get that stuff fixed.
Yesss, finally a new episode, love from Ukraine
Always look forward to the quality content!
Hello there, what a nice video and this Carchannel. I have a car called Mitsubishi Colt GTI 16 1993 and i am planning to fully repair it and make it streetlegal again. Your channel really inspired me to not give up and make my dream come true.
great car, love it, a6 allroad is my favourite! but please, get proper winter tyres since you have summer ones and do an alignment check, front tyres and more spent on the inner sides...
Love the Audi content, well deserved subscription 👏
Hey next time you're hood actuator fails you can use locking pliers or what we in the US call channel lock pliers, that works great so you don't need a piece of wood that's in your way to perform work. Just a thought or as we say food for thought lol.
What an awesome car! I love that v6 tdi
I think I need a time machine to make much more progress. Love the videos brother! Maybe I will make it over to Belgium for Cyclocross season some winter.
Please do yourself a favour and replace all the plastic coolant flanges, even diesel engine bay temperatures eventually cause the plastic to become brittle.
