    I don’t normally comment much but dude your content is great! I just got into 22lr with a 10/22 match bull barrel and a RPR. I love them both. Keep the videos coming. I literally found your channel this week an have already watch all your videos.

    I shoot a Vudoo V22-S. The only ammo I've ever used has been Lapua brand (either Ctr-X or SK Std+) so, after watching your results, I thought I'd give the NORMA MATCH a try. I chrono'd 50 rounds today with unexpected results: SD=8.5, ES=34. That's pretty close to Ctr-X at 1/2 the cost! I know, it's only 50 so I plan on doing another 2 boxes tomorrow. I'm hoping I get similar results.

      I’ve been through about 4000 rounds in a month and it’s been consistent throughout. I just bought another 6000 rounds. I’m afraid they’ll run out. Lol

      Ive been running Tac22 for competitions in my CZ457 and its all i will buy now for the price you cannot beat it. I ordered about 2000 rounds directly from Norma last summer, found it to be cheaper than the local stores.

    Have you tried Wolf 22 Match? I got a smaller average group size at 50 yards than the Norma Match 22. Although I note that the Norma Match 22 yielded the smallest single group overall.

    Outstanding video. I need to start checking all my ammo for loose bullets. I think your on to something here. My Savage Mark II shots lights out with this stuff. However, I should mention that I also have an ATS barrel tuner on it. Now I need to check my CZ 457 MTR and the Varmint that I have to see if it will like Norma as well as my Savage. Thanks for the video. Good work.

    First thing I learned years ago is that domestic, US made ammo, is crap if you are looking for consistent precision. Eley has always been the most consistent, Lapua a distant 2nd. The best you can expect from sorted ammo, to include sorting by weight or rim thickness, is to eliminate some flyers. I found this to be the case across Vudoo, Tikka, Ruger, and Anschutz platforms. I shoot with a group of guys that shoot Savage, Tikka, BSA, Winchester, and Anschutz. All have migrated to low end to mid-range Eley.

    My ruger rimfire LTR loved the Norma tac 22 me doing my best in the .3’s I was just using black cover up stickers as a target on a box so holding exact same point of aim was my challenge ended up with afew .7’s but very similar to your results I was happy as a pig in shit my rifles hated all the expensive match stuff and loves the 7.99 a box stuff

    I`ve had far better results from the black Norma boxes. Shoots (50yds) lights out in all of my CZ457`s, and several of my ruger`s (RPR`s & 1022`s) LOVE the standard black box Norma Tac22.

    I watch a lot of your vid's but am late to this one. It just now came up on my watch list.
    I have a theory here. I'll just about bet the less than possible expected fliers from the loose bullets to case shots are due to the Bentz chamber forcing them tightly back into the case although there is no guarantee they will be perfectly aligned.
    I Would also bet that in a lesser chamber, such as a typical sporter chamber would show many more fliers as the bullets would be allowed to enter the lead an different angles much more often as there is no real guiding them in by funneling in such a chamber.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ll be doing more at 100 for sure. When I first started this channel I did a lot of 100 yard shooting and people couldn’t believe that these expensive match barrels would only shoot a inch. Some do better depending on the ammo. But most people think if there rifle shoots .5 at 50 it will shoot 1” at 100. Lol couldn’t be further from the truth. Although a few of my rifles will shoot .6 or .7 most of them are at a inch or more. Rarely get a calm day here so the wind plays a big part too. A few people said my rigs were junk for only shooting a inch. I was pretty happy that a semi auto did that well honestly.

    • @speedracer4588
      @speedracer4588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes windy or breezes are tough..my Kidd bbl Kidd bolt will usually do 7/8 to 1" at 100yds but I use a harroll tuner and makes tac22 pretty. Good for cheap...then to make it really tough we shoot golf balls at 300yds.. makes 100 look easy...

    @rfkcous ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your tight crimp TAC22, $4.29 a box, shot the same average group size as the Match, $7.99 a box. As long as at least 27 rounds in the TAC22 box have a tight crimp you will be paying less per round than buying the Match. And you have all the loose crimp to plink with.

      Not only the bullets get damaged by the next in line. But your bottom of bolt will scrape the following round from the pressure of spring. Shoot one then look at mag, the bullet may have a line through it.

    The tight crimp Tac22 and the Match did the same at .40", so I don't know why you said the Match is so much better. Please explain.

    • @RimfireSS
      @RimfireSS  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s more consistent overall, and that not just based on the video. I’ve had way and I mean way better results with the Match over the Tac, and that’s in all my rifles. The Tac is decent but I’ll spend alittle more on the Match for better consistency. I normally do not have the time to sort my ammunition and the results are really not good enough in m opinion to take the time to do it.

    • @L.V-Rider
      @L.V-Rider 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@RimfireSS OK. Like I said before, we don't have much of a choice for .22LR ammo here. Yesterday I went to the different chops to see what they have available. The only brands I could find other than CCI, S&B and Winchester, all of which I already have, was Norma Tacc-22 and Norma-2, so I bought one box of each. The one salesman tried to convince me that CCI Stingers was accurate.
      At 100 meter the Tac-22 was all over the target at 69mm "group", if you can call it that, and the more expensive Norma-2 did better at around 25 - 35mm but not as good as the CCI Standard Velocity. With the Norma-2 about 50% more expensive than the CCI, I will rather stay with the CCI until we eventually get some match ammo.
