💥Struggling learning to edit in Neo? After being asked for years I've finally created a comprehensive guide to photo editing with Luminar Neo. ➡ bit.ly/NeoMastery that'll take you all the way from beginner fundamentals building up to more advanced techniques. I reckon it's the best content I've ever created and I hope you will too. See you in the course! 😀
Love the approach. Takes a photo from overwhelming to a bunch of small problems to solve. Great long format video without a bunch of useless fluff, boring intro, etc. Perfect.
Great to hear. It's always tough to know whether people will like a longer video like this. I always try to pack in as much useful info as I can 😀 thanks for watching 👀
Your eye is obviously a lot sharper than mine. However, I love your problem/solution, problem/solution approach to editing a photo. Will definitively be using it in the future. Thank you.
Anthony...thanks for pulling this tutorial together and presenting all the tools that reside in Luminar Neo to help achieve one's "vision"...this really helps and inspires!
I really love this approach! Such a good idea for tackling those edits where you just don't know what to do - which happens to me a lot. This is going to help me out massively! Best 36 minutes I've spent in my photo editing education, so many useful tips! Thanks for sharing.
Very good sample of how to go through the creative process ... especially the realization that each time you view an image it may look different ... keep up the good work
I took a photo of a Vermilion flycatcher which had a lot of red on his head and breast. The sunlight was slightly behind and to the right of the bird which added amazing contrast to the highlights and details and also slightly back illuminated the feathers on the top of his head. The challenge I ran into is that the glowing red feathers almost looked fake. I played around with the HSL to bring down the illumination and saturation just in certain areas but it was hard to find a happy medium where the colors weren't too bright and fake looking but also weren't too dark and dull either.
G'day Anthony I simply LOVE your approach that you have done in this video. Outstanding, and I will be using this approach in the future. Thanks a million, mate. 👍 👍 👍 Greg
Awesome masterclass Anthony! I watched it til the very end. So many great tips, and your premise is indeed simple and obvious: problem/solution. The only drawback is knowing when to stop! It is indeed easy to go overboard or realize you've spent wayyyy too much time on a photo, when you have dozens left in your "to process" pile!
I was in Milford Sound a month ago, what an amazing place ! NZ as a whole is a fantastic country, wonders at every corner ! I'm currently editing my pictures, thanks for the inspiration with this one. Love this longer format :)
Great to hear. Yes, wow, Milford Sound right?! What an amazing place. The drive in too is epic. Especially during a heavy downpour when waterfalls are born before your eyes 👀. Magical!
Awesome video, at first photo editing was very daunting but I've watched a load of your luminar neo tutorials and you have helped me loads in understanding all of its features. I'm still new to editing but I feel a lot more confident since I've started following you. Thank you very much.
I like this idea but is there a way in the edit list to make notations of what issues were addressed in each edit as after 30 or so edits and come back to the image you will understand what you’ve done. Also how do save an image with edits intact for a later look see?
Hi. No notation option currently. However with the addition of virtual copies you can make a series of edit progressions if you want. You can also just go through the edit from the bottom up revealing the edit to see what each step adds to the look. I sometimes use this as a refresher to an older edit or to look at how preset looks were created.
The entire video is great. However, I was distracted the entire time by that long lens in the background balancing on his shelf on the narrow end... That gave me tremendous anxiety. He needed to soften the detail in that area of his video and find a solution to me stressing out that it was going to fall over.
😆 The lens survived - just! Actually it's a really dick-move from me to have my lens like that - here in Christchurch NZ we suffered a pretty bad earthquake in 2011 that leveled the city. The fact that I didn't learn from that isn't a good sign! 😬
I just purchased Laminar Neo. So I have a large learning curve ahead of me. The only thing about your tutorials I find very distracting is your hands waving all the time. And you move the mouse around to fast. A slower pace would be more enjoyable. Sorry I'm old
Sorry about that. My hands are inextricably linked to my brain and if I don't wave them around enough I go into a vegetative state. The doctor says I must keep moving them. And the more they move, the better my ideas. 😅

This channel is the top Luminar Neo go to. Thanks
Glad you think so!
He knows what he is doing and can explain it very well.
I think I learned a lot and i am looking forward to using the two step process to re work the ruins of the Yucatan
The road to astonishing results. Thank you.
Just got Neo, and have some scenes like this. Can't wait to open up past photos to enhance them!

@@AnthonyTurnham I sadly didn't get that chance, it wasn't raining. No thousand waterfalls for me ! It was still amazing though !
That was a cracker and I like the approach of problem solving. I also like the longer video approach. In other words an all round like
Awesome, thank you!
Always useful and gets me playing more with more photos!
Happy to help!

@@AnthonyTurnham ah. From your accent I just assumed you were from Guildford. That explains why you have access to such amazing landscapes.
@@bosco_bosco Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire originally! Not too much worth photographing there though
I prefare original, unchanged version of the photo 🤭
That's all good. Different aesthetics appeal to different people 🙂cheers for the feedback.
