I'm only beginning to appreciate what a really special person and gifted performer Andy was, and with some truly beautiful, well crafted songs. He seemed such a gentle, deeply sensitive soul, which really shone through on stage and in his vocals. I think he sought a lot of escapism through his drug use, and hid a lot of pain and insecurity. Still sad to think of how young he was when he died, only a few days past his 30th birthday, and just when he seemed to be getting his life and career together again. Often seems to be the way. He looks so happy and relaxed here, his speaking voice was as nice as his singing!
Love this interview, another side of Andy here, he's just a kid deep down inside specially when he puts on the mask with no hesitation, Just for fun. I love his laugh and his voice, oh my gosh I love listening to him. Love you Andy!

The Empire Strikes Back was released in May 1980. This would have been between the release of After Dark and Greatest Hits. Andy was so sweet - miss him so much! Love you Andy!
He was a very talented and handsome man. Unfortunately, gone too soon, it's sad he has an adult daughter and he would only be 60 and Peta 40. Poor Andy and Peta they both missed out on a father daughter relationship.
Andy was so much fun here so relaxed but loved a laugh,he reminds me when I was that age bless him. Love hearing his sweet soft voice all his brothers had soft voices miss them so much. Keep smiling Andy please
Just trying to figure out the date of this interview. I think the movie The Empire Strikes Back came out in 1980. So this interview was probably around that time. Several things that he said that was a bit sad: not having any friends in school because of his brothers success. And that other than his family; his friends were primarily his body guards & people in the business( in a nutshell, the people on his payroll were his friends). Andy was very humble. Regarding his fame; he said something to the affect.. that at first it was difficult not being able to do normal things without being recognized. But he would rather be recognized than not recognized. ARG 4EVER!!! LOVE & MISS you.
Southern English accent??? No Aussie at all... no Mancunian, of course. Sounds a wee bit Londoner... did he grow up in London after his first years in Australia? Maybe he moved with his brothers when they got back to Britain and settled in London, anyone knows?
Just phrasing and words here and there. It’s all mixed with English accent. He was younger when he lived here in Australia so it affected his accent more. Also back then the Aussie accent was closer to British than it is now
