If you ever wondered the reason why people make a big deal out of cars going so long in burnout competitions is because It puts a tremendous amount of heat into the engine. You're essentially running the engine at 100% load while sitting almost completely still. Since the car is barely moving there's almost no air being passed over the radiator. I'm surprised the engine in this thing didn't lock up completely seeing how hot exhaust got and how long it sayed at redline. It was likely also starving for oil as the vehicle was at such an extreme angle and at max RPM the engine is likely pumping oil as fast as it returns to the sump.

I feel for this guy. When I lost my job I made sure my payments were made. Still an error with the mean holder cost then 150k. I had my Jetta repossessed and yet the lean holder sent me paperwork showing I was current. But I had no job. The repo guy still took my Jetta. After I showed the police the paperwork from the bank and proving I was current they charged the repo company with grand theft auto and they turned around and sued me for causing their driver to be arrested. That caused me to dish out an additional 20k of money and that was my all of my savings at the time. Their case was dropped and mine was allowed to go ahead. Then I got my car back the windows was broken out and the seats were slashed. They told the police I did it when they were trying to tow the car. My ring cameras showed differently and again additional charges to lying to police and felony vandalism was bought against them. The company ended up going out of business and had to pay me 150k. And the insurance totaled my car.
I ended up in a good spot but this ordeal caused me to miss out on four jobs because I could not make the interviews because of court dates and police interviews.

There’s many shelters to go to especially in the winter. At least he’ll be warm and safe and maybe get free meals. Unfortunately, when someone lives in their car, they usually aren’t working and maybe there’s no car payments if it’s a used car but we all know we have to have to make payments on other things to own a car. When encountering that kind of crazy, that tells you immediately that "you aren't going to take it," I'd definitely stay out of his line of sight for your own protection. This world today is sadly full of folks that will put a plug in you for lesser things. Stay safe out there and protect yourself at all costs.

That's very true, I had a psycho neighbor pull a handgun on me because I was outside holding a camera. I nearly got shot and killed for being in my front yard literally minding my own business, but because he was tweaking out on drugs, I was the FBI...

I was waiting for a fire...
A friend of mine used to work for a bank, and part of her job was involving the repo's when people didn't pay. It went well most of the time, but one time, a woman went crazy! She grabbed 2 big knives and slashed all the tires, scratched the paint top to the bottom front to back, then got inside and slashed every inch of the inside she could. It took her less than 5 minutes to get it done, but as soon as she got out, the officers got there and ended using the taser. It was brand new, she never made a single payment and they looked for her for 4-5 months. People will do crazy things

I'm on my daughter's TH-cam. A tad over 50 years ago my dad stopped the wrecker from repoing his car. The guy told my dad that he had no choice. He also told my dad that it was a very nice car and he knew that there was a chance on the front being damaged being hooked up to the wrecker. For you youngsters, the wreckers back then had two wide straps that hooked up under the vehicle and was lifted. The straps put a lot of stress against the bumper and/or body parts under the bumper. Anyway, the guy told my dad if he promised not to take off with the car that he would let him drive it to the impound yard. And he promised my dad that it would be parked in a safe place so no other cars would hit it. He also warned my dad if he took off that he'll find the car another day and tow it regardless. My dad promised to drive it to the impound. My dad drove it there, the guy showed him where to park it, and come the following Monday my dad had the cash to get the car back. My dad passed away last April. That very car is mine now.

Oh wow! Thats quite the story. Also a perfect example of why to be respectful in those situations. I’ve helped many in similar situations, and was planing on doing the same with this guy till he acted a fool.

You seem like one heck of a guy. You were very courteous when you called the police. You didn't swear or call the driver names. I'm sure your job isn't the most rewarding picking up repos, but when people are broke down on the highway I'm betting they feel at ease with you when you show up. Don't let the repos get you down. In most cases, people overspend or spend foolishly to cause to get their vehicle repoed. You're just doing your job.

This shows how durable those Pontiac Vibes & Toyota Matrix's were. My mom had an 07 Matrix and says she wishes she'd have kept it with the problems these new POS have. Scotty Kilmer's wife still drives one and he says they are the most reliable cars money can buy. Not many would take that much abuse. Plus you know its probably a high mileage car.
