That's a product of these buy here, pay here lots and predatory lending companies that charge astronomical interest rates.. they know they're charging way over market value and that people are gonna default for one reason or another, that's why it has GPS on it.. most of them have remote capabilities to shut the car down.
All you have to do is call the finance company before you can’t make your next payment. They don’t want to go through repo. They get only the money owed if/when resold and the owner gets the remainder. The only one who profits is the tow company and they are just doing their job.

I'm a little surprised they had to make payments on a car that old. It took a long time to save up for my Jeep because I wanted to have double the price, I knew what I could afford would be old and needy.

I hate seeing these videos. This poor woman is working her ass off at a Pizza Hut to make ends meet. Now she has no way to get to work. I know that she owes or fell behind in her payments, but it still makes me sad. The economy is so messed up because politicians overspending. Working people can't keep up. I hope she was able to get her car back. If I could, I'd send her some money to help.
Probably bought it from one of those crappy dealers that will finance anything. Take a deposit for what the cars worth and finance the balance on a piece of crap car, then repo it when they don’t pay

You can make payments on other stuff like utilities. They'll work out a payment schedule for you. Just don't be buying toys or phone aps or other unnecessary stuff. Get a flip phone and save monthly high phone rates.

I do feel bad for some however as things have gotten so expensive that people can't make payments when rent is going up,food,medical,utilities,virtually everything.
I really wish we had video cameras back when I was towing, 82-91 We had CHP, Police, Boder Patrol & Military Police. I did take some photos of the accidents I worked, or the exotic car I towed, started driving an Ecka wheel lift then went to a sling truck, finally worked my way up to the big truck. Was fun doing off road vehicle recoveries, but driving in the snow sucks and the beach rocks!

I have had 2 cars and a Harley repossessed in my youth and I never tried to hide the cars or fight the repo man. Seeing them load my Harley on a trailer and take it away really hurt. Now I pay cash for my toys.

Contrary to TV and social media, most repo’s go this way. But the dramatic ones get the views, so that’s what people post. The reality of it is, most people are cool about it. And as long as you’re cool, I’ll be cool in return. Many times I’ve let people get their stuff out of vehicles, or given them a ride home.

There are entitled jerks out there, but in reality the vast majority of people are hard working folks just trying to make a living and taking care of themselves and their families. Times are tough and typically the payments for cars like this at "buy now pay here" dealers are quite aggressive in terms of interest and the worth of the car. In this case, she at least realized Dustin is just doing his job so there's no point in yelling at someone who hasn't done anything wrong to you. I hope she is able to get her car back, or secure another one.

They are aware what they need to pay. The appropriate notices are sent out that lists the amount needed to clear the default. A lot of times these are ignored as the person has the it will not happen to me mentality. I know first hand how it works as I send the repossession order for vehicles in default.
Just a question, do you ever repo cars at a hospital? I used to work security at a hospital and we were told that if there were ever any repo people that come onto the property we had to tell them to leave. Mainly for safety reason, you never know what someone might do if they see their car being towed. I'm just wondering if you ever had this kind of experience.
@@Towtruck_Dustin I found this channel as I just searched repo cars after watching one in person the other night... they followed the car to starbucks.. where I was parked in my mobile office bus .. they mustve knew what was going on and mustve thought the bus was empty as they parked so close the tow rig could never get in.. they went in the store.. the tow truck driver saw me and asked me if I could let him in.. so I backed up the bus about 25 feet.. he zipped in.. the dude and girl come running out of the starbucks with big tall cups screamin... about that time the cops drove in for their usual free cup of evening espresso... it was like a TV show :).. the car went on the hook and the people went on foot.. tow truck driver said he'd buy me a coffee next time he sees me there.. made me think.. they could go buy $6 starbucks drinks but wouldnt make their car payments
Why she asking the REPO man what she owes. She knows EXACTLY how much she owes AND this WAS NOT a surprise. Bills don’t care about your hard times. You either can pay or not. I’ve been there and I had all my stuff out the car because I knew they were coming because it wasn’t my car. 💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️ Sometimes you gotta take a step back to move forward. After 2 repos, one being voluntary, I learned some valuable lessons and now my last car I bought with cash, no payments don’t have to worry about a repo man.

I fully understand the order of repossession, having worked with a trash company that had roll out cart's for residential services, so many people forget to pay the bills to keep their house going then when I showed up to get the cart that they would have to call to make arrangements to get the cart back, so they wouldn't have to go to a landfill, and there was one residence that was frustrating as the home owner had defaulted and moved out leaving the cart in the house and there was no way to find out which lienholder had the key to the door, oh well, as far as I know, the cart is still locked inside the house and I haven't worked with the trash company in ten years

The parking is well deserved, it's karma at its best but repos is not very often a case of people doing it to themself, its more often someone needing help, not a tow truck. That old Pontiac was likely a $200 payday loan for an emergency with a $350 30-day payback.
Lol. The repos we do, are small, buy here pay here, car lots. By the time we get sent out, it’s because the people aren’t making the payment or making an arrangement to do so, or not keeping full coverage insurance on the vehicle. Either way, they’re not keeping up with their financial responsibility.
Sigh you can tell shes barly getting by i hope things get better for her and she finds a great paying job that she enjoys so she can get a brand new car :)
See now when people are this cooperative the tow truck driver puts it in his report that the person was very competent and as a result of that cooperation it is much easier for the person to get their vehicle back

@@Towtruck_Dustin I found this channel as I just searched repo cars after watching one in person the other night... they followed the car to starbucks.. where I was parked in my mobile office bus .. they mustve knew what was going on and mustve thought the bus was empty as they parked so close the tow rig could never get in.. they went in the store.. the tow truck driver saw me and asked me if I could let him in.. so I backed up the bus about 25 feet.. he zipped in.. the dude and girl come running out of the starbucks with big tall cups screamin... about that time the cops drove in for their usual free cup of evening espresso... it was like a TV show :).. the car went on the hook and the people went on foot.. tow truck driver said he'd buy me a coffee next time he sees me there.. made me think.. they could go buy $6 starbucks drinks but wouldnt make their car payments
Why she asking the REPO man what she owes. She knows EXACTLY how much she owes AND this WAS NOT a surprise. Bills don’t care about your hard times. You either can pay or not. I’ve been there and I had all my stuff out the car because I knew they were coming because it wasn’t my car. 💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️ Sometimes you gotta take a step back to move forward. After 2 repos, one being voluntary, I learned some valuable lessons and now my last car I bought with cash, no payments don’t have to worry about a repo man.
"GPS has her comming here on a regular basis". So lenders can track the movements of the cars they loan on? Which I assume would also extend to manufacturers and government. I guess everyone can reply to me....We're have you been living? In a cave? So if I pay cash for a car, they all still have the right to track me? What's next? Cameras in my car and house too?
Every time I park I remove all the tires so no repo can be done. Strangest part is that I own my car. Never be to careful though.

I fully understand the order of repossession, having worked with a trash company that had roll out cart's for residential services, so many people forget to pay the bills to keep their house going then when I showed up to get the cart that they would have to call to make arrangements to get the cart back, so they wouldn't have to go to a landfill, and there was one residence that was frustrating as the home owner had defaulted and moved out leaving the cart in the house and there was no way to find out which lienholder had the key to the door, oh well, as far as I know, the cart is still locked inside the house and I haven't worked with the trash company in ten years

Most people are pretty cool about it. By the time we show up, they have had countless chances to setup a payment arrangement.

@@Towtruck_Dustin Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, there are many tow operators that don't do repos or parking for that matter. The parking is well deserved, it's karma at its best but repos is not very often a case of people doing it to themself, its more often someone needing help, not a tow truck. That old Pontiac was likely a $200 payday loan for an emergency with a $350 30-day payback.

The repos we do, are small, buy here pay here, car lots. By the time we get sent out, it’s because the people aren’t making the payment or making an arrangement to do so, or not keeping full coverage insurance on the vehicle.
Either way, they’re not keeping up with their financial responsibility.

They stopped production of all Pontiacs in 2010. I'm surprised to see a 13 year old Pontiac being repo'd.

See now when people are this cooperative the tow truck driver puts it in his report that the person was very competent and as a result of that cooperation it is much easier for the person to get their vehicle back

So, basically when repoing you want to hook and book for the most part as contact can be a wild card depending on the debtors?
That’s the idea. You never know how the interactions are going to go.
But if I get caught, and you’re cool, I’ll be cool. If you wanna act a fool, I’ll just take the vehicle and you can get your stuff back later.
