In my uni, they give distinction and merit only in one sitting. I have resit in my 1st semester. I’m really worried. Even if I get good grades, I will not get the distinction or merit. I lost all the motivation to re-sit.

Always remember - you will be ok! Try to think about the bigger picture. Even if you can't get a distinction or merit this semester, you can still become better and succeed next time. Focus on how far you've come and take a break if you need to recharge. Good luck ! You've got this :)

We have exams at the end of the year. I only failed one so I just retook that one in September but if you fail 3 or more I think you have to retake them all.

Unless you have a health problem (mental or physical), there is no reason why one should fail. ‘Can’t be bothered’!? OMG! So many other capable students who missed out going to Oxford would have been bothered and would have loved to be in your place. It’s a real privilege to be there and you couldn’t be bothered 😢
