To all my fellow singers/singers-to-be: If anyone is self conscious of your range, please don't be. Be self conscious (I'm joking, just be aware) of your *tone* and *technique* NOT your range. Your range doesn't matter if you don't *sound* good. If your technique is poor, it also doesn't matter your range. In fact, it's damaging your throat and potentially hurting your range in the long run. Focus on good singing hygiene before trying to hit ANY notes outside what feels natural. *How to not strain/damage your voice* : Don't try to make a rasp unless you have a natural one (in which case, you wouldn't 'make' anyway, it'd just be there whilst singing) Never tense your face muscles to hit a note. That's the best way to tell if you're straining. Hence 'strain', it's almost always in your face. Ever see a singer bent over with their face turned into a pucker trying to hit a note? Yeah, that's strain. Don't do that... Stop singing if you accidentally strained or voice cracked on a high note and take a break for a bit Drink tons of water before, during, and after singing Don't yell, absolutely never scream, and don't be caught dead whispering (all are terrible for your throat) Avoid coughing hard in general (yes, I'm serious) DONT CLEAR YOUR THROAT. IT IS A HABIT YOU CAN BREAK!! (do little coughs instead and take tiny sips of water. It works better anyway) Avoid going up in volume until you're comfortable with a certain note. Falsetto can be strain if done incorrectly. Just focus on your chest voice and breath control before absolutely anything else. Your vocal hygiene matters so much. 'm a professional singer/voice actor and my range is D3 to G4. That's it. It's not about range. It's about technique, tone, and confidence. I've never had anyone I've worked for complain of my range. We just work with it. Hope I could help a bit.

Exactly! When I was younger, I believed to be untalented, because I couldn‘t sing high or reach the really deep notes in some songs even though I was quite good at pitch accuracy, tone and so on. Well, turned out I’ve been an alto with a “normal” range, so no surprise I couldn‘t reach many high notes. Knowing that taught me to accept that I‘m a good singer who is just a little limited at the time. But after practicing to extend my range I can now sing up to an A5, so practicing always helps to improve your voice and singing!
The eeee sound is actually a pretty hard sound to do really high. Try a belted AHHHHHH sound to keep your throat nice and open and you’ll find you can go higher probably without using falsetto

@@Izaan2810 Yes, her range is 5 octaves and 5 notes and a half (into what´s physically possible). It goes from Eb2 to C8. Let me HIGHLIGHT that what I just said its the physically possibilities.
@@weirdface3838 first of all he is not Korean, he is from Kazakhistan. Get your facts straight and how in the world is he overrated when people around the world love his voice?
A lot of people are forgetting that showing off your range is pointless if your voice doesn't sound well whatsoever. It doesn't matter what range you have, it matters what you can do with it. So all I see is a whole bunch people boasting about FOUR full octaves? Kinda don't think it's legit TBH...
Well, it's most likely people are watching this video in order to actually improve their singing voice, since knowing your vocal range is one of the first steps to doing so.
***** Well, I think I meant more for if you're trying to learn how to sing on your own. I may be a bad idea to do that, but I suppose if you can't afford a teacher than teaching yourself is your only option.
tip: when you sing these notes, try singing them on an "Oo" or "Ah" ·Lift your soft pallete (look up how to do this) ·Breathing is *everything* ·USE YOUR ABS Do not sing from your throat!! This will cut off the note and you will not be able to sing. Instead, try imagining the sound flowing over your back teeth (do your best Oprah singer impression, or Victorian lady accent. THAT is how singing should feel) , and feel the air coming out your mouth. The sound should feel like it's coming out of your front teeth. ·If you need to, make your voice more nasaly as you get higher ·As you get to higher notes, have more breath support: use your abs, take deeper breaths, imagine the sound more in your nose and front teeth region of your face. ·Posture. stand tall! you shoulder blades should be almost touching (I'm aware it looks stupid, but it will help a ton) ALSO I almost forgot, when you breath... your chest should not lift up. Breathe so your stomach goes out instead of your chest going up. I hope this makes sense, and I hope it helps someone!
Federico Lande your abs should tense up while you’re breathing out. Imagine the air you breath in is 50 pounds. You breath it in, and it all goes to your stomach because it’s so heavy. Now when you breath out, you have to push that 50 pounds of air out, use your abs to push they air out steadily
Things I learnt from this video: 1. Some people in the comments are really talented. 2. Singing randomly in the living room makes all your relatives stare at you 3. And finally, that a certain somebody that is definitely NOT me is very untalented
Yeh the barrier is called your vocal range lol. Any one can sing any note they want in their head. Like for example i can imitate the echoes of the void in my head but my throat can only go as low as an F3
bryce courtney lol so true I was like wtf do u even know what you’re talking about lol my tessitura is C#3-E5 (2 octaves, 1 note and a semitone) and that’s only where I feel 100% comfortable with my chest and chesty mixed voice. If I count falsettos, head voices and even whistles my actual range is a whole lot bigger alrdy lmao.
bryce courtney and seriously some people might also be confused on what note they’re actually singing, for example they thought they’re singing an E2 when they’re singing an E3, or they thought they’re singing an E6 when really what they just sang was an E5. Seriously most of them are uneducated peeps that will never get educated about these properly.
@@SGEC2010Y1EC yea makes sense.my tessitura is e2-a4 (a little over 2 octaves), but my full range with falsetto is much larger. You are right though, some may not be aware of what octave they are in

C3 to D5 right now, but I'm getting over pneumonia. I just got part of my head voice back yesterday. When I'm better it will be more like F3 to F5. I'll hit E3 and G5 with extra effort, and anything beyond that will be a crap shoot. I love being able to get low when I'm sick but don't pretend that's actually in my range.

I am a 17 year old guy and i don't have any lessons but i did find my range is usually between g2 to g4, but also can also get more wider from e2 to c5 or maybe e5 as well so it's probably like 2-3 octave for me
It can be because you're not warmed up, or isn't using your diaphragm to "hold it up"; try standing very straight, and "sucking in" your belly: that makes it easier to hold them... Also, when going high, the inside (and outside) of your mouth have to be bigger (like raising the top of your mouth and lowering the back of the tongue, and opening your mouth more). High notes need A LOT of air and space to resonate, so your range probably goes where these notes crack, you just have to support it :)

F#8 was a whistle note in head voice right?? Cause overall her range from what I heard was 5 octaves.
@@Izaan2810 Yes, her range is 5 octaves and 5 notes and a half (into what´s physically possible). It goes from Eb2 to C8. Let me HIGHLIGHT that what I just said its the physically possibilities.

I am c3 to c7. Yes, I can reach 4 full octaves. I can reach that high, but I only feel comfortable singing from c3 to c6.
***** Well, I think I meant more for if you're trying to learn how to sing on your own. I may be a bad idea to do that, but I suppose if you can't afford a teacher than teaching yourself is your only option.
***** Okay, that makes more sense, thanks. ;)
+Just A Skater Bloke someone with a tiny range?
tip: when you sing these notes, try singing them on an "Oo" or "Ah"
·Lift your soft pallete (look up how to do this)
·Breathing is *everything*
·USE YOUR ABS
Do not sing from your throat!!
·If you need to, make your voice more nasaly as you get higher
·As you get to higher notes, have more breath support: use your abs, take deeper breaths, imagine the sound more in your nose and front teeth region of your face.
·Posture.
stand tall! you shoulder blades should be almost touching (I'm aware it looks stupid, but it will help a ton)
ALSO
I almost forgot,
when you breath... your chest should not lift up. Breathe so your stomach goes out instead of your chest going up.
I hope this makes sense, and I hope it helps someone!
Uncanny Tuko yes
To be honest i don't know how to do that
How do you use your abs in this ?
Thank you for the tips , it helped me alot :)
D2-B5 ( have hit e1 with subharmonics but there’s a gap around a-b1 that I can’t hit with chest or subs )
Things I learnt from this video:
1. Some people in the comments are really talented.
2. Singing randomly in the living room makes all your relatives stare at you
3. And finally, that a certain somebody that is definitely NOT me is very untalented
I sang an E6 and my mom just stared at me as if I was weird lol
@ohhh hhh there's only two people in the whole world who have a reported 5 octave range, 3 or higher is quality
@ohhh hhh yeah, but it's still very talented
In my head i can sing any note i want, its weird, i feel like i can get to that range but when i try, it feels like there’s a barrier lol
Yeh the barrier is called your vocal range lol. Any one can sing any note they want in their head. Like for example i can imitate the echoes of the void in my head but my throat can only go as low as an F3

Does anybody have this spot when you sing higher and higher where your voice kinda cracks
You switching to head voice or mixed voice when to practice the transition becomes seamless
recently yes but I never used to. My voice went weird around D5(I think) and then I completely lost it. Every time haha
You're either hitting your upper range or you're experiencing falsetto: the transition between head and chest voice.
