I started serious skating in '59. Learned rexing couples right away, all the pretty girls wanted guys to rex with. When you do it several times per week, you get pretty good at it. After a couple years, I found out about spot rexing. I learned it, and did it in the middle of the floor a lot. I had way more moves than those in the video. It was kind of a big deal at the rink I went to. Now I'm pushing 80, and have trouble walking. Can't skate at all anymore.
Wow this brings back memories!!! I miss the Fri/Sat nights skating, Skate Palace in El Cajon & Aquarius in Le Mesa was home away from home rexxing was my life! lol
I roller skated in every rank from San Francisco to San Jose in the 50s 60s 70s 80s. Was a blast and then I got osteoporosis and decided dancing was better for me than skating. But I sure do miss it. I would rollerskate outdoors at shoreline and listen to live broadcast of blues.
Just like dancing, Spot Rexing has changed a lot since the sixties, back then it was much smoother and more moves. Grew up at Palisade Gardens in the 40's 50's and 60's.
THANK 4 THE VIDEO!!!!!!!! I grew up in mission Beach . Downtown has a big roller skating rink. But the spot reading was much different. Try making them moves forward and turn on a dime and give 5cents change.. I just went back after 50 years and many injuries. Its the best P.T. tou can do.
@@get.on.your.skates What you mean is it has beat in has a Brigham and in has movement which the spot wreck scene did not have it was all edge you weren't even allowed to balance your body or even snap your fingers this is it volved since the great Cedric Watkins Chase all of that look it up
Competition spot wreck scene was not even in this calendar for it it was in its own infancy, It was traditional edge just like ice skating figure eights with edge with no rhythm whatsoever it wasn't allowed This is what we took any vault we took this spot rate wreck scene steps and recreate is something far more secret nized M better, You can't recognize it because you never done it not like that none of your friends done it like that, The worst thing about it is all you can do is be critical and not be respectful..
@@lsmithjr5 Who is your message for exactly? It appears to be directed at me and I don't know why. I said nothing critical. I posted these videos to share skating in San Diego. I know you personally, so I'm very confused.

Not spot rexing....
Christine Raffa-Diggon Care to explain? You are correct, it’s not competition spot rexing. Shall I change the title?
