Im very beginner. The kind of 3rd day. Scared and very slow.... But today i was going slow and i looked forward thinking about my bicycle. I put my hands forward as i was on my bicycle and my feet started pedaling. Not in circles but puxing to the side. I felt the balance. It was amazing! Tomorrow i will try again. I hope i do even better then may be one day i will be able to dance like you guys.

I roller skated in every rank from San Francisco to San Jose in the 50s 60s 70s 80s. Was a blast and then I got osteoporosis and decided dancing was better for me than skating. But I sure do miss it. I would rollerskate outdoors at shoreline and listen to live broadcast of blues.

I started serious skating in '59. Learned rexing couples right away, all the pretty girls wanted guys to rex with. When you do it several times per week, you get pretty good at it. After a couple years, I found out about spot rexing. I learned it, and did it in the middle of the floor a lot. I had way more moves than those in the video. It was kind of a big deal at the rink I went to. Now I'm pushing 80, and have trouble walking. Can't skate at all anymore.

Escondido had a great roller skating rink. What a shame that is now a car wash. Escondido has plenty of car washes but no places for young people to hang out and exercise. Sad.

Doing the crazy legs is actually good exercise.

I loved that place so much. Spent nearly every Friday night there as a kid in the 80s and then woke up early Saturday for my skating lessons. I can't believe it's gone now, demolished for a car wash. So dumb.
