    Digging the dance plugs! I had a neighbor takeoff. My toe stops to put in the dance flags and he was mortified and could not believe why I was throwing such a great piece of equipment in the trash.😂😂😂

    Can you get better at roller skating?? I honestly haven't been on skates in years since I was 16-17 and I'm now 40 and those were rollerblades. I remember finding roller blades to be much easier for me than skates had been years before that... although in all fairness the extent of my skating was limited to once a year when I'd unbury them from the bottom of my closet, dust them off, and spend a night roller skating at my friend's birthday party. I was usually pretty stiff and sore the next day.
    I would actually like to get a pair of roller skates and try it again. I'm sitting here wondering if you can improve with practice and time on skates even if you're maybe not so coordinated and loose control and trip on your own feet in skates?

      100% time and regular practice makes a huge difference. In person lessons are a good idea too if you have any nearby.

    You have the roll line Dance plate! How did you choose the cushions and bearings for it? Im struggling with my new Dance plate and dont know what is wrong - its just way too slow and stiff. I thoulght either the cushions are too hard, but they are exactly for my weight. Or that i tightened them too much, because the click system on this plate is hard to understand - but i dont think its tight. Then i thought that bearings are just slow, because i bought some cheap ones. I dont know what to think :D Ive heard that the dance plates kind of should be a bit stiffer, but why... Did you have any similar experience?

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I love the dance plate. It’s so smooth. However, I do run the soft cushions which are a step down from the recommended medium for my weight but I found the medium far too hard and not as responsive. The click action, remove the kingpin keeper screw and adjust the but so it’s showing a couple of threads, then adjust from there. That worked great for me. Just make sure to pop the kingpin keeper screw back in when you’re done. I know a few skaters on the dance plate that have gone down a cushion and it’s made a big difference. As for bearings I tend to run the cheaper stuff. Most I’ve ever paid for bearings is £40. Haha. That was for some open ceramics which I do really like but most of mine are zz cheapies.

    I have a question: does it makes sense to switch between toe stops (street skating) and jam plugs (indoors/rink). Please advise.

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. I do. I always wear stoppers outside and then go jan plugs for inside. I find I can still do most moves both ways!

    • @kellyclark7517
      @kellyclark7517 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ditch the toe stops n fully EMBRACE the dance plugs! It will make you a superb skater! The only thing that should matter whether you’re skating indoor or outdoor are your wheels

    Can u make a video for inline skating also please

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly although I’ve tried it I’m not an experienced inline skater. A lot of it transposes across but there are inline only skills and tricks that I wouldn’t be able to teach. There are some great inline TH-cam channel though.

      Yes. I always lace all the way up as I like the ankle support of the boot.

    Hello~! I am a beginner who's learning how to skate forward and do bubbles. I still a bit inconsistent about those skills. Could I try out these moves?

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hold on to something and see how you feel. You might surprise yourself. Plus these moves really help with your balance too.

      @@Skatie Thank you! Just about an hour ago, I actually tried the slide walk (first part of the video) and I quite enjoyed myself. However, I chickened out with the others after trying side to side stepping because I was rolling a little bit and I guess that needs some work so I won't fear falling. But I will get there! Thank you.
