      Depends on EA to who ? If you are over qualified for an EA job with right educational background and previous work experience it can really propel your career.

    If you live in NY, NJ, CA. $300K is barely enough to live an average living standard after you take into account federal, state and local taxes, ssn and Medicare taxes which is a ridiculous 10%,property taxes, 401k savings
    There is very little personal saving with the cost of everything else. While corporations demand all the “productivity “ and very little wage growth in real terms. The CEO of my company saw his net worth grow by $50billion in just last 4 years and I have seen a less than $30k increase in my compensation. The tax bracket has had a higher increase in the last 4 years than my wage. So effectively I’m getting taxed more and more, everything is almost double the cost from 4 yrs and very little wage growth. So yeah my mental health is 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    Thank you Khe and Carrie for the video, coming from a senior business student going into the industry soon. I'm really apprehensive about how a career in Finance could ever fit well with my dream of being an entrepreneur. I'm afraid that once I'm consumed with work I won't have the breathing room to entertain any interests I have. All this stacked with a deep need for financial security and a heap of student loan debt. Now I'm 21, my plan is to secure a rotational to pay off my student loans, but everything past that is filled with so much uncertainty. I know Carrie came to realize she wanted to write, that seems like such a risk to me. I'd say writing is really similar to entrepreneurship, you can write about anything, you can also start a business on anything. Being so uncertain, I've come to realize is just a part of life, and I can't say I've found any answers through the video but I just liked seeing two adults, who seem quite nice, have a very touching conversation, and speak so maturely about things I feel so deeply about. 10/10 felt like one of those lengthy chats with close friends that just clears all the anxious thoughts.
    Edit: I did get something from the video, that last piece of advice for uni students felt like you were speaking right to me. And its very freeing to hear that.

    Look I'm a retired millionaire from Australia. You guys are being affected too much by external things. Man materialistic things don't mean much when you're deeply calm and peaceful which i am. What i recommend for you guys is meditation and quit stimulants like caffeine especially.
    You can hear and feel your intuition when you're calm and no one in your previous worlds seemed calm. I can afford everything, but the money doesn't mean much cause I can't feel better than i already feel. when you get to that level you don't care at all what others think of you and you drop the culture you were born into. I was born into an indian culture but i dropped it once i connected to my inner self. I dont need culture and religion. Indians and asians never really enjoy their life. Glad you guys broke free. Please meditate.

    I'm finding it really hard to empathize with any woman/man earning generational wealth. There are individuals who labour more than she does and LOVE their careers. The fault isn't wall street, hedge funds or the ridiculous salary she earns. Its where you derive your sense of worth. She did all that to have "more free time" and for the credentialing status - Not because she loved it. Reminds of the Parable of the business Tycoon who sees a a fisherman having a midday nap and asks the fisherman why not hunt more fish, build a business, earn more money and retire in 50 years.......then have more free time. Life is about trade offs. There a people earning $65,000 (The US median household income) and living wonderfully happy content lives. Her story isn't a story about burn out - , anyone will get burnt out doing meaningless tasks no matter the kings ransom they pay you. Its a story about seduction of the rat race and how people trade their soul for freedom

    • @radreadsco
      @radreadsco  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      fair, isn’t there something to be learned in eventually realizing the education of the rat race was not freedom. There are lots of folks who struggle with this

      @@radreadsco There are of course some aspects of personal character and life circumstances involved. But my experience is that when things turn pathological in the sense of seeking approval, prioritizing pleasing others, inability to set boundaries, to say no, it all comes down to overbearing parents that trained a child to achieve their goals rather than educate a child to face the world. And this is often a fault of first gen immigrant patents that place material achievement and their selfish goals above the interests of the child that has to painfully discover himself much later in life.
