Successful investing is hard work because it means disciplining your mind to do the opposite of human nature. Buying during a panic, selling during euphoria, and holding on when you are bored and just craving a little action. Investing is 5% intellect and 95% temperament.

    • @darksunrise37

This is all true and good when one is managing large sums of money, and even with compound interest, it makes a huge difference if your starting capital is 10k, 100k, or 1 million dollars. To anyone willing to make it, the first thing is to bring up your savings rate as high as possible. This means cutting on expenses, and increasing income thru your day job. Next, is the part where everyone will tell you to invest in some broad market index fund and forget about it. I recommend against it, especially if you are young and have time on your hands. Diversification is a wealth protecting measure against the risks of being over exposed to a single market segment. But if you have little to no wealth accumulated, you do not want diversification, but concentration. Not only that, but with a healthy level of margin as well. Only by taking on more risk can one get oversized returns. What to invest on? Do your own research, but generally buy low sell high, buy with the trend, and most importantly; sell too early, as opposed to never selling at all and losing all the returns (AKA, take profits)

@7.00 he invested the float of his tuition while at columbia and made $1m?-
1990 columbia tuition ~10k per year, even assuming he had the full 4 year upfront for the full duration, he made 25x in 4 years from value investing? Great job on youtube commentary not addressing that

He took a time machine and traded shitcoins on leverage on the 5mn chart, came back rich and exhausted and decided to cruise on spot "value" investing from there.

What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.

There are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy situation, but such execution is usually carried out by an investment specialist

I've been in touch with a financial analyst ever since I started investing. Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in trending stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over $900k in a little over a year, my CFA chooses entry and exit orders
