    Also another good thing about the Phoenix is that because it has no landing animation and cannot land you can basically just regenerate stamina in the air if I am correct

      They are actually good for some other kind of fishing : Fish Megalodon into a trap, specially Alpha Megalodon, it can also fish Megalodon directly as the fish is a pretty slow swimmer.

    About the phoenix, there's a way to make it easy (if you're not on PvP of course). scout the map with a fire wyvern during heat wave, and when you spot it, follow it to spot where the (invisible) ash land. Once that's done, you can build on top of the ash pile so that next heat wave, the revived phenix ends up trapped. The trap needs to be a couple stories high because the phenix's revival has a certain height, it's not ground level. From there, flamethrower, and if you run out of ammo, that's where the fire of the fire wyvern will come in handy.

The fact that you have to take them with beer, and they will attack you if you don't have a ghilie suit on really makes it annoying to tame them. I love the Pelagornis so much lately. Since I am legitimately terrified of water, even in a video game (like my PTSD panic will still trigger. It's NOT fun) I was always scared of getting dismounted near/over the water. Found out the pelican does NOT yeet you off and I found my new flying mount. Plus he's really great at catching fish for my Hesp and Kai farm since he kills and eats in the same motion! Very minimal contact with the water itself. Perfect. Glad to see it getting some love, here!

    Just a couple tips for Phoenix taming: make your trap at least 5 walls high, because it spawns up in the air when a heat wave starts. To tame it throw down a bunch of oil jars in the trap and hit with a torch or fire arrow to ignite. You'll get a perfect tame incredibly fast, better than using a fire wyvern and much easier to apply the fire.

    ok so some reasons.
    7. This bird is found roughly out in the middle of the ocean, you need a raft and good timing as well as position to not have the bird fall into the water.
    6. yes it has a fucking high oxygen stat but the biggest issue, is that its a knock out tame and most spawns in the worse areas to be in.
    5. well rounded in the worse possible way, roughly painful to tame.
    4. the snail is a pain in the ass to tame as its food item is expensive and it will only eat vegie cakes, but by the time you can effectively maintain these guys, you have other methods of getting organic polymer and CP, however it can extend organic polymer expiration so I guess there is that.
    3. You can't tame it, killing it is more trouble than anything, and the benefits are not even worth it.
    2. I heard you love temporary tames, this animal is more than temporary than the titansaur to my knowledge. The ocean is an absolute jihad already so the ultimate question is why fucking bother?
    Another thing, its not only require a short lived rare item, but the animal itself is rare spawn so good fucking luck.
    1. An animal that no one asked for, ok finding them is hard but its not as hard as one would think, simply tame a parasaur, let the first heat wave pass, then walk around with the parasaur until it detects an enemy that isnt there.
    Also much like the game itself and primitive plus, the animal is unfinished and abandoned.

    I use to look for high level diplocaulus, since the level will affect the oxygen but where they spawn alot of stuff aggros to it. It is just faster early game to pump levels into oxygen and tame a Sarco. I know people say to tame the ichthyosaurus since it faster but the sarco is tanker and you can shoot from the saddle which makes the rider safe. Then I hunt plesiosaur while I hunt underwater drops and after a couple low level plesiosaur I have enough prime meat to tame a low plesiosaur.

    I think I would drop the pelagornis from your list and substitute the manta. I've never seen anyone bother taming one of these annoying creatures, and can't think of a good reason to do so.

    • @SpartacusSurvives
      @SpartacusSurvives  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, mantas are rarely used, and probably a only few players remember how they are actually tamed.

  • @ReD_nels.

    I've always tamed pelas and pachys cause I really like them
    Pelas are convinient cause of there size you can often take them caving with minimal issues
    Patchys I just have a soft spot for cause I think there cute and so I keep them
    The diplocaullis i also tame occasionally just cause i like how silly it looks i usually name them boomerang or boomer and take them swimming with me on the rare occasion that i do go into the water
    The rest of the dinos on the list were dinos i knew about but didn't care to tame for the reasons you listed
    Minuse the leoplurodon
    Tbh I didnt know they were such trouble to find and tame I just knew ark had them but not where they were makes alot more sense why I never see them now lol

    The Achatina is well know as a cementing paste factory. They produce cementing paste ("Achatina paste") up to a stack of 100 in their inventory. They also produce organic polymer. And they're asexual so they'll mate with each other constantly, producing more and more Achatinas automatically. Far from a forgotten creature, as far as I'm concerned.

  • @michaelweber4895
    @michaelweber4895 ปีที่แล้ว

    Achatinas and phoenixs are 2 of the most OP passive farm tames since they both poop resources. You need to get 8 of those tames around a gacha and he will pick up the Achatina paste and the pearls. You need to have 8 since any less the Gacha will have time to eat from his inventory. I have not played the game in 3 years so they might have patched this since it was so OP for end game. If not this is why people sell lvl 1 phoenixs since it is cheap to clone. Achatinas on the other hand tame higher level ones and use a snow owl to heal them after each time you shot it.

    In island runs diplocaulus is BEYOND useful, i always pick one to farm chitin and get to the water caves (if you can outswim the most of the dangers they arent very dangerous, the problem is when have cnidarias or alphas just above the artefact)

  • @D3STRUCTOR_
    @D3STRUCTOR_ ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You forgot one thing about the pelagnoris!
    It can fly underwater.
    Also phoenix can burn almost anything in the game, the fire heals it and it is faster than a wyvern and it can burn enemy players even if they are riding a creature. Phoenix ia not a trophy tame in my option, but it is hard to find and tame. The biggest problem with the phoenix is that there are only 3 of them on the map and the levels on SE are terrible!

    • @SpartacusSurvives
      @SpartacusSurvives  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not forget about that. Check the other comments. :)) I knew you could. And when I made the video I thought it wasn't too useful to mention it. Although I should have mentioned it just as a fun fact.

    • @jojomaster7675
      @jojomaster7675 ปีที่แล้ว

      The phoenix is a trophy tame. (Or a silica grinder if you want to bother with that.) It's way too useless as a mount. Why? Well, it's gonna have horrid stats, since finding a high level can literally take you a year, and it takes a lot of effort to get. So there's no reason to risk losing it when you could just use a wyvern (which is better in literally every way) instead.

    I think the big thing about pelagornis is that their stats are SO low. its a gathering dino with the weight of a shoulderpet. its so slow and its stam is barely better than a pteras. it majorly needs a tlc. ntm its model is one of the worst imo.

    What about the patchyrhinosaurus (i know i probably misspelled it). I don't think i ever tamed it except for the achievement. I just feel it is a worse variant of the trike and not worth going for. I dont even know if it has special features because i have never really used or ridden one.
