I watched an interview and yes they do deserve a private life I totally agree with that it is none of our business if their dating, but in this interview it was mentioned that they weren't aloud to date until they became Kpop idol's/successful they never explained what they actually meant by that, so they are aloud to date now but they just keep it quiet and it wasn't the band group that was getting interviewed I think it was something to do with Blackpink and BTS. 💙

They aren't allowed to date because of their music company. Also, bc of Covid I'm pretty sure is why Selena and BLACKPINK didn't film together. Kpop bands live together so they quarantine together. In the behind the scenes of this mv they briefly mentioned not filming together.

The 4 BLACKPINK girls live together in a house. They have a reality show called 24/365 that airs every week for fans to see them live their lives. It’s really cool.
They filmed it on different locations. Selena in US and Blackpink in South Korea. Original plan is to shoot the MV together but with the covid situations right now that is not possible... so sad though... but I really love the MV regardless I will support this collab no matter what. the distribution of lines was according to every girl when they were doing this they were making sure that the distribution of lines would fits the girls plus we are talking about a collaboration...not a song with only BLACKPINK...so since Selena was also on the song of course...they have to make sure they did the distribution of lines according to how they sound together...a lot of people are saying how Selena can easily be the fifth member of BLACKPINK and that’s because of the distribution of lines was exactly like it needed to be....and if they didn’t have enough lines and since is a collab it makes sense cause they are having an album we are going to listen more of them...I imagine the conversation could have been like this...: (all of this is just and idea, it might not be perfect but I tried)

They’ve definitely hungout prior but they filmed separately since covid coz selena would have to quarantine if she went to south korea. They do have stricter covid protocols than the US

Dating is a tough issue in K-pop, some idols have been fired in the past for dating, many contracts have a no dating clause. From what I have heard, Blackpink's clause has expired but it's still kept very very much on the down-low. Jennie did have a brief scandal with dating EXO's Kai and they were forced by their respective labels to break it off.
The video was filmed separately because of travel restrictions, neither Selena or Blackpink could afford to be quarantined for fourteen days going each way. So they had to film it on sort of color-themed sets on two continents. As others have commented the girls of Blackpink live together and don't need to Quarantine from each other.
The song is mostly English because it was written mostly on the Selena Gomez side of the production team (including Ariana Grande as one of the co-writers)
