Jennie has actually been alternating between singing and rapping ever since she was a trainee. As a trainee, she featured as a singer on a G-Dragon song ("Black") and featured as a rapper on a Lee Hi song ("special"). From the time of debut, she's done major rapping (along with Lisa) in some songs (e.g. Boombayah, Whistle, Stay), then she's switched to mainly singing in some songs (e.g. Playing With Fire, As If It's Your Last), then back to rapping for some songs (DDDD, Solo, KTL), then back to singing (HYLT, Ice Cream).
Lisa has been mainly rapping all along. I think the pattern will just continue going forward. Jennie will probably do some rapping again in some future songs (either in this comeback or the next) and Lisa will continue to mainly have rapping parts (which is fine because she's very good at it and her rapping is usually a big hit).
I know some fans get obsessed with the so-called "main" and "lead" position labels, but YG never even talks about "main" and "lead" positions. Neither do the BlackPink members. I can't even find any official YG source for the main/lead/sub position labels.

There actually is no evidence that YG attaches any importance to any "main", "lead" or "sub" position labels. YG never talks about such positions and nobody can point to any official YG source for such labels. Even in the formal/official 2016 debut ceremony/press conference, hosted by YG, where Blackpink and each member of Blackpink was introduced to the world, no mention was ever made concerning any "main", "lead" or "sub" positions.
It seems like that it's mainly just fans who use those labels to describe what they think the roles of the girls are in the group. But there is no evidence that YG ever officially or permanently assigned such labels to the BP members. In any case, since YG producers already know each member of BP very well and are very familiar with each member's abilities, there literally is no purpose or need for YG to create a system of official/permanent "main", "lead" and "sub" position labels for the members of the group. They assign parts on a song-by-song basis, depending on what is best for each song.
Although there may be some loose correlation between actual part assignments in BP songs and those main/lead/sub labels, there are also many ways in which those fan-made main/lead/sub position labels don't really match reality. For example, from the first song up to the present, YG has assigned major rap parts to Lisa. There is no indication that YG ever considered Lisa to be a lower-ranking "lead" rapper. Also, the "visual" position would not make sense because there are no "visual" parts in any BP songs and there is no indication that YG regards any member as being prettier than the others. (They're all gorgeous.) There also are no "main dancer" parts in BP songs. Of course, Lisa is widely recognized as being an exceptionally talented dancer, but YG doesn't call her the "main dancer" and the BP members call her the "dancing machine" (as a nickname), but do not call her the main dancer.
