Just got my Fxlr s yesterday with stage one, and guess what ? First time starting it and oil and check engine light comes on
Same issue but with a RK. Issues didn't start until after I put the Sawicki 2-1 on it. Thundermax was already on the bike with no issues. Now I get error codes 0151 and 0152. Basically it's saying that the rear cylinder is running both lean and rich at the same time. Bike runs fine so I'm assuming not the TMAP but who knows? New wide band O2 sensors installed. Haven't check spark plugs yet...
Just remap.
I have my softail heritage 107 , 2018 stage 1 with a light on, tuner, mufflers and air cleaner was installed over a year ago no issues, now since I changed the battery I have P0444 and P1655 code errors, someone has this issue before?, I already tried several ways to clear this light, nothing, we changed 02 sensors, canister, etc from another running bike to check and nothing, it seems we need to check wire harness to se some wire has an issue.
Did a stage 2 with a 475 cam. Same problem. Dealer said he couldn fix the problem...he says its the cam, cause it needs to be riden in the higher revs...very frustrating...paid for 2 custom maps and have still the same problem. Will sell it to come away from this stupid shitheads

I have Fat boy 2022, I want to install V&H mufflers. The dealership told me that I may get a check engine light and I can just clear it with an app on my phone (FP4). Also I contacted V&H, they said the same, they are offering FP4 toning device and I can clear the check engine light and deactivate O2 sensor using it. I didn’t like the idea I don’t wanna miss with the engine. Is there anyone tried it before? Is it safe?
Yes just use it in auto tune for a while and then it should be fine
@@RevelatorAlf you mean if I used FP4 and download an auto tune for my bike after installing V&H mufflers the O2 sensor will be deactivated and the engine check light will turned off for good? And that wouldn’t affect my engine performance or engine check light for other codes?
Hi, I went for a ride yesterday and got the engine management light on, all sorts of error codes, wasn't to concerned as it was running sweet. I was running autoune on my fp3 and think because I'm running it in and couldn't get the full rev range that it got itself in a bit of a muddle. Went into the FP3, looked at the codes and then promptly cleared them all. Rode again today on V&H's own map for my stage one and it ran perfectly, no codes. Also as I'm approaching my 1k service and H-D said they couldn't help but the warranty would be valid even if i didn't service it until 2k. Bought some fresh oil and will change it at 1k. Living the dream!

I have had the same issue with my 2018, 107 Fatboy. I brought my bike to the dealership three times with the same codes 0151c and 0152c O2 sensor codes. I have a stage one installed on the bike with the Bassani Radial sweepers and a heavy breather. The tech would access the quick tune option and adjust the fuel/air ratio and spark. Still after riding 50 miles or more the check engine light would go on again. Finally today the dealership told me they recommend to Dyno tune the bike. Apparently the standard map from the Dynojet tune isn’t quite what it needs to be. The rear cylinder keeps running lean. I Also have the occasional hard start since the stage one was installed. Hopefully the Dyno tuning will solve those issues. Unfortunately, it’s going to cost $450.
This is what annoys me so much. They do the work and they can't get it right, then you have to pay to get a dyno tune on it. What tuner did you have on it? FP3 or SE etc? The FP3 has an auto tune feature which usually will automatically search for the best tune as you're riding too. This sounds to me like the techs didn't really know what they needed to do to get it sorted

I can confirm this is still an issue on the SG 23, I've had mine 6 months now, done 2.5k miles and has come on 4 times in that period, I've had it back to the dealer 3 times (witing to go back a 4th), each time they cant find a fault in the history and clear the light, the only thing I've had done in that time is the bikes first service (bought from new).
December 2023, and yes this is still going on. I literally picked up my Street Bob today after having a Stage I upgrade and the check engine light came on. I have to take it back to the shop tomorrow

Had stage 1 done at dealers, they had lots of trouble with the tune, 3hr later said all good. The light came on the next day. Another trip to dealers, more remapping done and told all ok. Up to now it looks ok but still worry.
Got a Stage 2 on my 2018 Heritage 107. Got a Check Engine light within 60 miles. Not a good way to spend almost $3K.
Yes, happened to me too on my 2018 deluxe, had pistons, barrels etc changed due to oil breathing issues, stage two cam fitted, engine light came on about 100km or so later, pity my dealer is 1.5 hrs away....I will check in with them....🤔🇦🇺

@@MattShockley I googled how to delete the fault code's on my bike, did that after writing them down for future reference, the check engine light went out, so far all ok....

Interestingly enough I got stage 1 and 2 and a dyno tune. I got a check engine light for a U0141 - Loss of communication with left hand control module. Harley warranty first had me remove my Custom Dynamics LED turn signal upgrades. I knew It wasn’t the problem but I humored them. 2 hours later the code came back. They replaced the left hand control module and it seems to be fixed. I only mention this here for others that might see this thread looking for OTHER reasons for check engine light. Maybe if you checked the error code on the bike through the diag mine was a p1505 rear o2 sensor lol because they used a canned map and my 2 into 1 it needed that parameters adjusted to cope BUT the crap se tuner doesn't have the capability to do it so you need to go and buy a better tuner.
Bloody pain in the butt when it comes on!! ride it harder well its under warranty, if it blows up your covered!!
Picked up my 2019 CVO Ultra, that I purchased from a private party last year, from dealer today after full exhaust (Fuel Moto head pipe, Khrome Werks 4.5 slip ons), RedShift 468 cam, Power Vision Tuner and Dyno. Had oil pump replaced under warranty which helped me decide to upgrade the cam. Road approx 40 miles without check eng light but, bike seemed to be a little jerky in mid gears and had to downshift sooner than pre-tune but, assumed this was me needing to get used to new tune. Started bike up for 2nd ride of the day. Made it 2 miles before check engine light. ECM = P0152h, RAD = U0185h, U1405h. Will call dealer when they reopen in a couple days to ensure OK to ride 30 miles back to get it looked at. Agree with other post that it's frustrating after spending this kind of money.
Finished my stage one at Biketoberfest in October. Light just came on…two months later. Had been fine for the couple of months in between.
Running a little rich is better than lean, but not so good for the longevity of those sensors. Was it a bad sensor?
2012 softail deluxe. installed high flow air kit. bassani true dual fishtails and a power commander 5. base map for duals and filter. put on all the parts. check engine came on after 10 minutes or riding. Code p0051. O2 Sensor Heater Low. Cant clear the code for the life of me. O2 sensors fine. Is the map just no good?

Whats your set up? Same with mine i installed rinehart slip ons and k and n 90° intake /filter..it was fine then next time i ran it the light came on but it is running good so far no issues
Have a 2010 FXDF with VnH shorties stock. Put on a big air cleaner and purchased a FP3 tuner. The moment I plugged tuner in I started having issues. Been back and forth with VnH; is it the tuner, the basemaps or is P0131 O2 sensor code legit? Tried different maps and cleared codes but that last 1000ft. Now I'm going to put stock air cleaner back on and see what happens. If code reappears and bike still sputters I'll check exhaust and sensors. If still throws code it's the mapping right? Update: I replaced the upgraded stage 1 air cleaner with the original stock air cleaner and bike ran perfectly. No more sputtering, stalling or spitting wrong codes. The FP3 I purchased plus their unknowledgeable service was a total waste of time and money!
Did you try the FP3 on auto tune?
Only 2k miles, short V&H pipes and air cleaner = check engine light.

Hi brother, i have qustion sir 😘my bike is 2011 hertige softail, the problem i just bought new battery, now the bike not working i took it to shop her he chek all wires he told me all good, what u thing the problem sir😭👍🏿
It could be a whole host of reasons. Is your battery fully charged and holding a charge. Was the old battery still working? Have you blown the main fuse? If you have taken it to the shop they should be able to narrow it down quite quickly, but if you've just changed the battery and now you're getting problems, the first area to replace would be battery again and check fuses. I have a bizarre issue on my motorbike. I just installed a set of Vance & Hines short shots with a Vance and Hines fp3 on my Softail heritage classic 07.
When I checked on the Vance & Heins MP3 app in the maintenance tab it's saying that both the rear and front oxygen sensors are low and that the bike is running lean the trouble code is P0131 and P0151.
However on my 07 heritage display/dash there is not a single check engine light that has popped up. I am quite confused on what is going on.
hmmm that is an interesting one. It's probably due to the narrow band HO2 sensors and your exhausts causing a higher exhaust gas flow but is still within the parameters of the ECM. Unless there's another issue. Can't say I've heard that before either. Hopefully other FP3 owners have had something similar and can help further. Please let us know what the outcome is. Cheers

Well since I was looking for video on this topic. Just had this issue. Did a stage 1. Was fine using HD parts. Switched to a different intake. Bam. Light on after a 40 minute ride. Will a different tuner cure this? 🤷🏼♂️
You should be able to modify the tuner settings to allow for the new intake

Depends which tuner you’re using too and what map you’ve got selected
Fyi when you turn your bike on that light comes on as the fuel pump comes on the light goes off you need to let the light go off before starting your bike its a systems check of sorts an when you crank while the light is on it cancels the systems check an can cause false codes to be thrown down the line I got my first Harley in 2000 an that was explained to me by a old Harley tech he said dealer won't tell you because we make easy money clearing false codes dont take my word try it bike in N an wait til engine light goes out your bike will start easier an you can thank me later

I did a stage one on my 2018 sportster about 2 years ago. I did a tune with FP3 then. Then just recently I started getting the engine light coming on and shooting a code of PO132 which is the front cylinder is too rich. Just all of a sudden so I down loaded a an autotune and I'm still getting the code. I pulled the 02 sensor and didn't see that it was carboned up very much. In fact it was just a little black on the tip. It doesn't happen until I've ridden it for a good distance. If it does it again I might just swap the rear sensor with the front one to see if the problem moves with the sensor. That would tell me if the sensor is going bad.
I had the same problem with my Dyna. Have you found the fix for it?
@@johneli1911 Well. I ordered a new O2 sensor but that wasn't the problem because the check came on again after install. I was running an autotune map. I was told by DK Custom to retune back to stock and ride it for at least 20 min. Then go back and retune it to my stage one map again. I did that and rode it for a long ride and the check engine light never came on again. Then today I took it for a ride and that damn check engine light came on. I did program my idle down to 900 RPM raised the eliminator to 6700 RPM. yesterday. I didn't let the bikes RPM get to idle speed before taking off today so I don't know if that had anything to do with. I reset the check engine code and took off again and no problem. I'll head out in a little bit for a longer ride and see if that sob comes back. I don't know if the trending is out of whack or something else.If that doesn't help I'll just us some electrical tape and wait for someone to figure it out.
@@johneli1911 Well I rode about 50 miles and no problems until I got back. I got off the bike to open the garage door when I got back on the bike I had that check engine light. I had several codes pop up. I cleared them all so I'm going to re-flash the stock map to see what happens then. Later.

I have the exact issue u just described after my stage 1 on 48, it’s been almost 2 yrs and no dealer is able to fix. All they could do is get rid of the error only to see the lights back after a 100m ride

Thanks for the vid! Have a 2019 Sport Glide. Keeps kicking off the CEL and shows a P0151h code. O2 sensor low, engine lean (rear). Bike runs fine. Took it to the dealer and they are ordering a new O2 sensor. We shall see. Best, The Sailor.

I talk a lot to try to explain. But simply the yellow light is your check engine light. meaning you have a problem
P0151h code popped up on my ride today. I have stage II kit on my 19 Softail Slim with S&S 50 state legal superstreet pipes. I've cleared it a couple of times, but it keeps turning on while I'm riding. I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in. They weren't very interested in the possible mapping issues.
Yep that’s a historic record of a HO2 sensor for the rear cylinder or it’s too lean. They just need to address the mapping or swap out the sensor. Cheers

I have a 2020 Softail Standard and I just added Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2, FuelPak4 tuner, and Screamin' Eagle air breather. My check engine light is now on. I don't know how to fix this problem. Can someone offer some assistance? I'd really appreciate it.
Have you put it into auto tune yet? Clear true codes first then put the fp4 in auto tune and see how you go
@@RevelatorAlf I followed your instructions and cleared the codes, but when I went to Auto Tune, after a few seconds, I kept getting the error message "No response, try it again". Very frustrating. I've my FuelPak4 won't connect anywhere away from my house, I tried three times when I took the bike out for a ride today. That's gotta be the most frustrating part, when the device says "Not Connected". I turn on/off bluetooth, I turn on/off wi-fi. Very frustrating.

@@RevelatorAlf I don't know, I seem to be able to access all other menus. I'm going to try it again today. I just want to be able to connect anywhere, then access Auto Tune. It's probably not good to run the bike with the check engine light on. It runs and sounds good with the new pipes though, I love it.

I have just gotten this problem for the 2nd time. I took it to the dealer, it was stated that it is something from the old models that has nothing to do with these new motorcycles. I am calling to take my bike in again for the second time within 5 weeks. I have a stage 2 upgrade on a 2020 Softail slim purchased in February 2021. i have a 2018 breakout 107,i recently changed my pipes to some short loud drag pipes now check engine light is always on what do i need to do to fix this,nothing else has been changed now its running very rough afraid to ride anymore only has 6800 miles.
Ok basically you’ve upset the air flow ratio in the exhaust and the O2 sensors are picking this up.
The ECM will allow about 10% variation by either slip on muffflers or air filter but anything more than that then you will need a remap with a tuner.
If you already have a tuner fitted, then you will need to retune it to get the correct fuel air mix correct for matching you pipes to your bike. Hope this helps cheers

Good info, probably worth keeping handy. I have 2011 Softail I put a stage 1 air cleaner on it and remapped it to stage 1 with the HD street tuner. I also put on 2 into 1 open exhaust and removed the O2 sensors. All this nearly 30,000 miles ago. I have over 39.000 on it now. My check engine like has only come on twice, once when the bike fell over on a hill and one with some bad gas. Both times the light came on the issue cleared itself up in a minute and the incidences were several years apart.

Its definitely still going on on the new 21 softails. I got my Brand new Fatboy 21 and on my second ride the check engine came on. Took it to the dealer they said it was the o2 sensor. They replaced it. And delivered it back to me. Then i took a ride next day and check engine came on again. Lol iys fucking frustrating. So they took the bike again. Its been 2 weeks already and they're still trying to figure it out. Im missing some nice days of riding. 😤😤

You couldn’t have posted this video at a better time! I picked up my Softail Slim couple of days back. Stage upgrades 107 to 114, torque cam, extreme intake, V&H 2*1 propipe. Rode for couple of miles. And there it was. The Check Engine light 😬. Turned around and rode back to dealership. Mechanic hit the toggle switch for the trip A etc. and did something with the DIAG setting. Rode back home. All fine. Today rode bike and Check Engine light back on. Took it back to dealership and left the bike there. But otherwise the bike is a beast and sounds good too :)
Had to get used to the clutch engaging a bit further out.

Yes! Significant difference in torque from what little I rode. And a nice rumble from the V&H pipes.
The dyno tune will take place after I ride 1000 miles (note to other stage upgraders: my dealership charged me labor for the dyno tune??!). When I told them I would rather pay 💰 for that when I get it done, they said that’s fine:). So check your bill lol).
Anyways, hope the check engine light is only a minor hiccup and I hope to be cruising soon!
1500 mile 2020 Sport glide, only got a slip on, no other work, light came on today after a 200 mile trip
How many miles since the slip on added. The HO2 sensors with the ecm allow about 10% fluctuation so either the sensors are faulty or the slip on is just taking it out of parameters so will need a tune on it to compensate
@@RevelatorAlf about 400 miles since the slip on added, its gone back to dealer, wait and see.
Back from dealer, light off, dealer said retuned, 150 miles later light back on again.
@@canamcdh06 you will need it remapped again. It may take several attempts until they find the right combination for you
@@RevelatorAlf just had it at Harley's today said it had an inlet leak, did whatever they do said it was now fine. After 60 Mike ride home the light is on again..

which one do you mean as there are a couple?
If it just a red dot check your brake light if it is stuck on it will make that dot come on I the front switch sick on and the brake light wouldn't go ofand I got the red dot but after I fixed the switch the light went off
Same thing happened to me several times on my Sport Glide I did Stage 1 & 2 and finally the dealership acknowledged the problem and offered to have the bike Dynatuned for $500 bucks I said no you guys should be able to fix this and yes after about 4 trips back and forth and rousing the whole deanship (i was always polite) they sorted it out and now the bike is a beast!

I’m having a similar issue with my 2018 fatboy. What was the final result of what the dealership did? What needed replacing or fixed?
I just had a stage 2 done on my 2019 FXLR....after about 10 miles check engine light came on. Frustrated as I had a trip planned the weekend and now have to wait until dealership is open as they have limited hours now.
Yep it will probably mean just a tweak in the tune settings too. It might take a few Attempts to get it right. Really bad timing
Do you think I will damage the motor if ridden while the light is on? Probably a stupid question but interested in all opinions.
Pieter Wolfaardt well possibly but it depends what error codes you are getting too. If it’s just an exhaust emissions case picked up by the O2 sensor then it shouldn’t do too much damage but really it’s not wise to ride any further than you need to.
Check the codes first and see if they can be cleared. If the light comes on again then I would not ride it very far. Cheers

Great video mate. I just did a Screaming Eagle Pipes, High Flow Air Filter, & Street tuner Stage one map & now I have the engine light staying on through start up. after bike starts it goes off. I have a 2017 Road King.
Glad it helped. If you’re using an FP3 tuner and ride with it in auto tune sometimes it will clear by itself until it figures out what map is best for your bike. Cheers

I just had this issue I did a stage one upgrade with the Screaming eagle pro street tuner and after maybe 300 miles the check engine light came on. The bike is currently at the dealer I will post an update when I get it back.

Got the bike back from dealer took it yesturday and withing 80 miles or so light comes back on

so weird did a trip today got the engine light. I read error p0151h and indeed mine is stage 1

@@RevelatorAlf it was a simple software adjustment. they hooked it up to the computer changed 2 fields (couldn't see that it was) after that the bike was a bit smoother at idle. I think it was the mapping

Got stage 1 V&H pipes on my 2007 FLSTN - No Red Light ! Replaced indicator globes to LED - Red Light as soon as I press the turn signal switch. Resets when engine restarted. There are many error codes.

Does the H at the end of code mean it’s old and I should just clear it?

Went for 200 miles than Engine light illuminated and I saw those codes. Never did the oil lamp light up tho
sorry I've just seen this. the h suffix denotes a historic error code finding. So clear those codes and see if they come on again. But you have an O2 sensor lean rear and you have an engine oil pressure switch that is shorted stuck in the high or open position. I'm sure you've got this sorted by now but hope this helps. Cheers
I have had this same issue on my street bob it is all emissions related any changes to the bike exhaust, air intake will cause this. Keeps throwing the o2 censor code till you get the right tune on the bike. Seems like the m8 are much more sensitive to any changes. Excellent video I experienced every thing you mentioned 99% sure mine is straightened out now but it's been a journey 👍like some one else mentioned after throwing a fit with the dealership they looked seriously at the problem
