Wow! Exactly what just happened to me. Aussie helped this old American! I'm on a 3k mile road trip and noticed the security light stayed on my Dyna Fat Bob. I searched TH-cam and you're the 1st video I found. After watching it, I checked my front brake lever, and it was sticking, keeping the brake light on! Wowza! Thx for your help, mate! Aussie's are good to keep close by!
Thank you for your video. My light is staying on due to my rear brake light switch. Without your video I would not have known where to begin looking for my problem.
Piston in my front master cylinder was sticking after being engaged having the brake light stay on for about 20 seconds after releasing the lever. That would cause the red light on the dash to light up.I found out chain lube is better than grease.
Just came back from a 1K round trip on my FXDR and my security light started to stay on randomly on my way home. Will now check all my lights and levers when I give it a wash. Thanks for your video, now a new subscriber!
Thanks for making the video. My light came on. I didn’t know what was going on so I made the 45 minute trip back to the house can’t find anything wrong. After watching the video I figured out it is my front brake. I Bought the bike used with no owners manual. I’ll 2:50 to tighten up the lever later as it is now I have to push it close with backside of my fingers.
Your comment saved me an hour ago. I changed my grips today and was in a rush and didn’t set my control cover on properly and the bolts loosened up on my way back home and threw this code. I double checked it on the side of the road and fixed them and didn’t have an issue on my way home. Just got home 15 min ago 🤘🏻
Hi Steve, bit late but........... The 2012 Fatbob has the very same problem. After chasing advice how to rectify that ' hand brake light' coming on I was told to do as you have illustrated. All good except it keeps happening. Originally the techy at Gasoline Alley did the spray trick and worked the billy-o out of the lever, back & forth. Did the job but, like the old cat it came back. If this hapens midst a ride, while riding and very cautiously, I push the lever forward and usually the light goes out. More spray and excercise the lever when I stop or get home. Those switches for that model can be replaced and will, be aware, usually stuff up again. Hope it helps. Knees in the breeze.⁵😮
I've had the same problem until the tech at a Harley dealer told me how to fix it. I used to ride with my fob inside my metal drinking cup(obviously the cup was empty) on my handlebars. It couldn't pick up the security signal through the metal cup.
Thanx, I have exactly the same problem! The brake lever doesnt return fully, so my brake ligths keep on burnin. And this afternoon the red alarm light kept burnin. Thanx again mate!
I have a 2012 dyna fat bob with this problem sator is good replace the voltage regulator clean all battery leads and terminal ran fine for a day then back to normal any ideas
Although most Harleys have security, the last I knew of, it is still an option. The red key light indicates there is a problem with the TSM/TSSM (turn signa, turn signal security) module) a light bulb or dash light somewhere. Good luck
My security light was staying on. I searched youtube and found all sorts of possible causes, to include a burned out brake light. As it turned out, my battery in my key fob was getting weak. I replaced the battery and the light went out.

I am glad mine is a 2003 model without a lot of tbese electrical gizmos.
I’m glad to have something on the bike that indicates a fault. Especially a brake light. 2003 is a great model. Anniversary bike.
Thank you so much! I just changed my bars yesterday and couldn't figure out what this light was. It was the brake light button!
Thanx, I have exactly the same problem! The brake lever doesnt return fully, so my brake ligths keep on burnin. And this afternoon the red alarm light kept burnin. Thanx again mate!
Gracias , la explicacion ha sido perfecta.
My light was on and the dealer told me my custom dynamic bag lights are the problem and I have to remove them
Yeah that could be too. Especially if they’re not wired through the accessories circuit.
Thank you so much man!
Really helpful

My light is going off when I start but if I put it on the first the light is coming on and stay all long

That’s the first thing to look at.

Best fix for the tech problems and the many recalls is:
Buy a carbureted EVO.
Bro, just get to it
