How often do you think police call 911 to report crimes? Someone could have recorded whatever was reported over police radio though. But we would all have heard it if it was, most likely.
There most likely wouldn't have been anymore calls from dispatch to the reporting person after the discovery of the scene. A detective or police officer would have called the reporting person. However, death notifications are often handled by the Coroner's Office. They need to time to get to the scene, do an investigation, and then notify the next of kin. The coroner's office sometimes doesn't like it for nonfamily members to find out before the remaining family does. So, it's possible the detectives wouldn't even have called back until a significant amount of time later.
im sure what happened IS the most unsettling outcome. Likely anything that went on in peoples head that day was innocent or naive to the real destruction that happened. "Wheres the Benoits, I really hope they havent died in a car accident" --- worst case scenario wouldnt even suspect the morbid reality
Whats crazy about this video to me.. The calm phone calls back and forth, dogs barking, cops and neighbours slowly assembling to get near the house and check in, meanwhile in the house, its complete silence and 3 people including a child are deceased. The fact that Benoit did it over a weekend, and that he basically slept 2 nights in the same house as his dead family before doing himself.. i lost sleep thinking about it at the time the details first came out I grew up watching Chris Benoits career, and now at 33 i still cant wrap my head around what he did
For the record, it wasn't just one thing that led to this... Benoit's brain was absolute mush from CTE, he was depressed from losing Eddie & others, he was taking alcohol and substances, and apparently his marriage was falling apart. Like most disasters it wasn't one thing but more of a combination of factors that led to tragedy. I still remember the moment I found out, I was in Kansas City at a SkillsUSA event... I was in the hotel room and turned on the TV to watch Raw and they are playing clips from Chris Benoit's special they made after he won WHC and in the bottom right it said 'Remembering Chris Benoit' my jaw dropped. The next night I attended the competition results ceremony at Kemper Arena, which some of you will recall is where Owen Hart fell to his death. It was all so eerie, I'm getting goosebumps just writing about it. EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that I actually met Chris at Fan Axxess for Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle. Not like I hung out with him or anything, just a "how ya doing?" handshake/signature... even in a friendly jovial environment he definitely had a quiet intensity to him. Pretty firm handshake. I've met 7 wrestlers in my life and his was the second strongest, only Kip James/Billy Gunn's was stronger.
No, it wasn't the CTE... It was the realization of losing everything you had worked for in succession... His best friend, his job, his wife... Mixed in with mood altering drugs ... He had an extreme meltdown where everything that mattered in his life was rapidly slipping away... Benoit knew exactly what he was doing but the emotional trauma of losing everything that mattered to him was too much and he snapped... He killed his wife, son, and himself because he was out of control and the only thing he could control was how it would all end

In my opinion the Benoit tragedy and the Owen Hart tragedy are the 2 darkest days in all of wrestling I don't think any other tragedy will ever beat them.
The Bensnot thing doesn't count as in wrestling. It crosses over and affects it, but it is separate. The Owen Hart death was bad planning by Vince & WWF, which crosses over into the world the opposite way. I say the Bensnot deaths don't count, because just cause he was a wrestler doesn't make it part of the business. Owen's death was from the business.
Those messages that were sent at 3 in the morning do seem weird but I feel like Chris did text those messages on his and Nancy''s phone right before his/her death!
Nancy died on Friday night and Daniel died on Saturday so it’s likely he sent these after Daniel had passed. @@berlynmeave416 You’re not gonna defend Jeffrey Dahmer just because he was curious about what happened if you put acid into someone’s brain. In fact, Jeffrey Dahmer and Benoit both killed people in cold blood but you only choosing to defend one is quite the double standard. Benoit strangled his wife and when police found her, she was bound with tape and a makeshift gag of a tube sock and tape was found in the bin. Benoit tied and gagged his wife when he strangled her so no one could hear her scream, but when I call Benoit the monster that he is, you hide behind the CTE excuse? You’re defending Chris Benoit the wrestler, Chris Benoit who has CTE. But when it comes to the murder suicide, you should be talking about Chris Benoit the person, Benoit as a father who killed his son, Benoit as a husband who killed his wife. Benoit was a bully backstage and Nancy nearly filed for divorce in 2003 because Chris was abusive, but go ahead and tell me CTE was the excuse when in reality he was always a piece of shit who couldn’t control himself.

I just want to point out that Chris Benoit has a surviving son and I think it's a little messed up that because of what his father did the support rug for his son was pulled out right from under his feet when most likely not being rude what saved his life was not being there that night so it's not his fault so stop blaming a kid for what his father's done! My hats go off to the people in the company who stayed close to his son after this and knew that it wasn't his fault and he still needed support after all he was just a child that just lost his mom father and sibling not to mention the whole wrestling community!!!! Let's be honest wrestlers and fans .... I don't know maybe I'm being biased because Chris was one of my favorite wrestlers that doesn't mean that I condone or forgive his actions it simply means that I admired what he did in the ring!!! Toothless aggression the rabbid wolverine and the flying head butt will always live in infamy in my memory as fond great memories I'm sorry that's just the truth!!!
For the record David Benoit's mom wasn't Nancy, his mom was Chris' wife prior to Nancy. Still pretty tragic for him, people have said the most ugly, vile things to him. It's the worst of humanity.
If I remember correctly he was packing to go to visit his father, if the tragedy happened a week or so later would’ve meant everyone was gone, it’s really shocking to think how much could’ve chanced in the span of a few days, I don’t think WWE should just pretend Benoit didn’t exist, but if he is mentioned, mention his family who perished in that house, all we hear is “the psycho murderer killed his family” “coward hung himself after killing his wife and son” that’s the majority of what’s said, it just feels like people jump in the bandwagon of “he’s an evil murderer” what he did was monstrous, I personally believe, he had a drink, an argument happened, Benoit killed his wife while drunk, after the struggle, he wakes up the next day realises what he’s done, and gets some medicine, he drugs his son, and strangles him, he then drinks some more to take off the guilt, as there was alcohol near his body, then after a while sat down drinking, he hung himself, the only people who really know what happened are dead, Sullivan didn’t kill Benoit, they didn’t like each other but why would he kill them years later, makes no sense, I think it’s a stupid theory, the brain damage, drugs, and alcohol all constituted, there’s no, one thing that caused it, in the end we will always be talking about what caused it.
But the kid is a man now and won't let that shit alone . Keeps defending his father like he's an innocent man. What he did was unforgivable people need to accept that. Whatever he did in his career doesn't justify his actions
From watching WWE I did not see any signs from his matches or even promos or interviews that May had occurred after Eddie’s death and his friends death. Now that I’m rewatching those promos and interviews, it makes sense. And Benoit being so socially awkward for years, others didn’t see any signs of it either. That’s why.
If you watch the CM Punk match at Vengeance 2007 (41 minutes in) you can hear the crowd chant "We want Benoit." It's so surreal, by that point people still had no clue what had happened. You can even hear Benoits replacement, Johnny Nitro respond to the crowd by saying "You got Johnny Nitro!" on the second round of chants.
Yes, he was deeply damaged but so are many other people in various ways and they don’t murder their wife and kids, he died a monster end of conversation.
I believe in situations where someone died in the house and an investigation was involved (murd3r, suicid3, unattended deaths) they're required to tell potential future residents about that house's history.
An officer is not allowed to enter a household or property without a search warrant. It was a welfare check. They cannot put themselves in harms way of 2 aggressive dogs if it is not confirmed of what’s inside the house. Because say Chris was still alive in there and he saw officers , he probably open fires or takes himself out right there
You might be right but I'm gonna be the devils advocate and say that he was putting pressure on the other guy to hurry the fuck up and get the gate code
@@UMANGPLAYSThe difference is that most of the wrestlers doing that move today protect their heads, by either hitting the headbutt near opponents body or putting their hands on the mat first. Not that I'm dying to hear it, but in theory there would be one more call to report the death
I have wondered this too honestly
100%. No way they just emailed them with that info.
It's really unsettling to think of what happened while they were trying to check on him
Nothing, he was already long gone.

It was Shavro at World Wrestling.
Why?
@Poopooluvin Idk 🤷♂️ not my business. This subject has since been closed, so I am not wasting my energy on this topic.
Whats crazy about this video to me.. The calm phone calls back and forth, dogs barking, cops and neighbours slowly assembling to get near the house and check in,
meanwhile in the house, its complete silence and 3 people including a child are deceased. The fact that Benoit did it over a weekend, and that he basically slept 2 nights in the same house as his dead family before doing himself.. i lost sleep thinking about it at the time the details first came out
I grew up watching Chris Benoits career, and now at 33 i still cant wrap my head around what he did
For the record, it wasn't just one thing that led to this...
Nobody can "set the record straight". People murder their family JUST because of a failing marriage. The excuses run out just short of murder.
Only one problem with that. No alcohol was found in his system.
@@neillscott4192 Because he was drunk on Friday night when he killed Nancy and killed himself on Sunday night after snuffing Daniel out on Saturday morning.
David Benoit didn't live with them at the time. He lived with his mom, Chris's ex-wife.

Surprised they didn’t bleep the numbers out
If you watch the CM Punk match at Vengeance 2007 (41 minutes in) you can hear the crowd chant "We want Benoit." It's so surreal, by that point people still had no clue what had happened.
One could only imagine if someone else is now living in that house not knowing the gruesome murders uncovered.
Plenty of people have lived in houses where gruesome murders have taken place. This is no different
