I was looking to buy a dedicated remote for my G9 to allow long exposures but Panasonic wanted £60!!!! for theirs and someone recommended this app. Thanks to this video I've learnt how easy it is to use and also take advantage of all the extra features. Another benefit is being able to view the shot on a larger screen. It's a really good app, thanks Graham for the run through.
great tutorial, thanks. i find with video either in 4k or 1080p as soon as you move or zoom anything the playback is jagged. after checking the actul video shot on the camera display, it shows this is a wifi lag, so the same kind of monitoring jaggedness you might get from a preview screen in an editing program. the video shot is smooth. the zoom sensitivity of the app is way better than the manual zoom button on the camera. so very useful.

I have Panasonic HC-VXF990 and when I shot the video in 4K using Image App I've got so noisy picture on every android phone i've tried that can not see what is on the screen. I thought this is because of the screen resolution of the phones, but now I have the same problem with XPERIA XZ2 which has a 4K screen resolution. So may be somebody know how to solve my problem.

Hi can someone help me, when transfering from camera to android, on the bottom left corner there are 2 video clips with a small icon on its left. Mine shows up like that and the download icon cannot be selected (grey). I wonder why is it?
I can't get the camera to connect to my tablet. I go into Wi-Fi setup and then after I have connected to the camera network from the smart phone a message comes up on the back of the camera saying "if you have not launched the smart phone application, please launch it" All I have is a blue frame on my tablet and no code appears on the camera. I also can not transfer raw`s and video`s from my GX85. I think it only can transfer jpeg, or my cellphone does not support this type of files, and the camera knows it....
Most phones and tablets cannot edit or accept AVCHD format. Record video in MP4 going forward. Otherwise transfer your AVCHD footage to laptop, download a file converter and change to mp4 then upload to your phone using a usb cable.
Giovanni Tirado in Camera, thumbwheel set to IA intelligent Auto, select menu set, scroll across to motion picture click menu set again, now you have rec format - click menu/set again to see recording formats. Instead of AVCHD select mp4 by scrolling down and select it by pressing menu/set again. Then come out of menu/set by pressing q.menu (the bin button bottom right). This is only for NEW recordings.
I find this ImageApp barely usable in full screen mode (which is what you'd want when using a mobile device as your "field monitor" and remote). The MF is practically inaccessible, you need to switch back from full screen. And in some circumstances the app won't allow you to switch to playback mode (bottom icon row) while being in record mode. What a nonsense! Now that Panasonic have made wonderful, powerful cameras, it would be time to give more love (including UX audit) to the ImageApp.
To remove the 30 minute time limit on 4K video recording on both NTSC and PAL versions of the FZ1000 see th-cam.com/video/_WWGZN7T298/w-d-xo.html I was able to make a single 4K video of more than 1 hour and 20 minutes on a 64GB SDXC card (SanDisk Extreme) while controlling my FZ1000 with the Panasonic Image App. Starting with a fully charged battery I still had 2 (of 3) bars at the end of recording.
Wonderful camera with very very very lousy software. Constantly losing connection to the mobile phone. No stand-alone geo-location, very slow connection and data transfer. Suddenly activates the burst or de-activates auto focus, and even in Ai-mode the camera behaves like a ghost. Unpredictable, slow, uncomprehensable. There are so many options on this device wich is making it allmost impossible to operate. My wife hates this camera. And apart from it's wonderfull zoom, I prefere a smartphone over this device. A waste of money.
John Navas i just think it should have the full functions for my camera it basically robs the whole idea of having the camera and not being able to upload it instantly through the app , kinda like go pro and other cameras they need a serious update .
I feel your pain. No matter how good it is in other ways, the Image App doesn't do what you want. An alternative is to get an Eyefi card, but unless you take only a few pictures, you will find uploading all pictures to be painful in performance and battery life. ("Be careful what you wish for!") So I had to set my Eyefi card to selective upload, but the Image App does that better, so I sold the Eyefi card.

Can you transfer videos to Mobile device also? When I clicked on my video I was unable to transfer it for some reason. Any recommendations?

I've used the app from the beginning with my FZ1000, and have never had a problem connecting. Follow the instructions in the video carefully.

Yes you can use it in a forest as the camera becomes the wi-fi hot spot and you can connect to it. I use it all the time outdoors!

My software does not work completely. Remote Control works only remotely and does not show what you see in my phone
