My husband made these using your video and I suggested the tiniest bit of Lawrys season salt and they were perfect!! Who knew lobster took 5 mins! Thank you so much I wish I could show u a pic of our valentines dinner.
Aww, so glad to hear that! Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! I don't think TH-cam has a way for you to post a picture, but you can post it on Facebook or Instagram and tag me @wholesomeyum there so I can see it. :)
Wonderful!! I cooked two small 3 oz lobster tails, used a meat thermometer, and went for 8 mins for 130 temp. I probably could have gone 10 minutes. They were perfect.., even though I had difficulty pulling the meat up. Not picture-perfect....but they were so good! Thank you!!
Most oven broilers have a high and low setting and of course you can put the tray higher or lower. Curious what settings you use and how close to the broiler?
I used your instructions to broil lobster tails for my parents for Mother's Day... I was nervous since I hadn't made them for anyone else before, but they turned out great. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. It always looked intimidating. Lol, lobster tails. 😂 but since all ovens made differently what temp for broiling? 450 ok or 500?
Verry and well-explained video. You explained in detail every step of the recipe to end with a perfectly done lobster tail. Thank you for this video. Best Regards.
Thank you for the perfect video I am a little weary of the paprika and cayenne but if it adds great flavor, I am going to try this. Thank you. Terry from Oregon
Thanks for the video! I find that opening them is easier if you hold the lobster tail between your palms as if praying, then use your palms to squeeze the bottom of the tail until you feel a pop and the top opens up. It also helps separate the meat from the membrane, so you accomplish two steps at once.
Terrific simple recipe. Being a very novice person around the kitchen I made a serious mistake with this recipe. Without my MAJOR mistake this would have been a fabulous dinner. Believe or not I enjoyed it anyway, but next time will be perfection and even better tasting. When the recipe called for 2 cloves of garlic (crushed), I thought a clove of garlic was the whole bulb. It wasn't until after that I decided to get clarification. Of course it turns out that a Clove is made of many individual lobes. Get the picture? I used 2 full cloves. Can't wait to make this wonderful recipe next time. I'll learn.
Not sure about her brand, but I found some great ones at Williams Sonoma. I have used mine for lobster tails, whole lobsters and even to quickly remove the shells from shrimp.
Broil them on high. I didn't realize some people have multiple settings until after I published this video and some people mentioned it, I wish I could update that!
@@WholesomeYum Perfect. Thank you so much! No worries. Maybe you can add it at the beginning of the description of the video... perhaps something like: "NOTE: BROIL ON HIGH SETTING" - or something like that. People are generally forgiving when you are giving them free GOOD information. :-)
I’ve never tried cooking lobster but after watching a few videos I settled on this on this one and I’m going for it!…. I’ll be back in a week are so to let you know how it come out. Thank you!
@@jrspringston I’m sorry I forgot to come back…. I’ve cooked these probably 5 maybe 6 times. They really are easy to cook just follow the recipe and yes they taste great. The last ones I cooked I used Cajun seasoning and spiced them up. I haven’t changed the recipe for cooking.
How do these turn out if try to broil in gas stove? Cause they will be closer to the flame. So if you have a gas would it be best to bake these then on Hugh temp?
Hi. My stove broiler has temperature controls I never know what to set it at for true broiling! Do you have a recommendation for this dish? Is it the highest 500? Thanks
Some readers have told me it worked with them with olive oil, I haven’t personally tried it though. You could also use ghee if you’re just lactose sensitive but it’s technically dairy.
350 degrees. I know I’m late to this party but for anyone else needing the answer. We’ve always cooked at that temp one minute per ounce and it comes out looking like shove.
i was watching this video to see if you did something different than everyone else. At 3:46 I could not help but notice how filthy your oven is! I mean if you are going to show a cooking video you should probably clean the oven first, right? I am sure you cook a lot... My own personal need to keep things clean and sanitary is what drives this comment. Not compulsive cleaning but regular cleaning. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the video,
If you are going to put more butter on after cooking, why don't you just put some of the butter paprika lemon mixture on it instead. It would atleast reinforce the taste of it.
I'm not sure what is hard about this recipe? Also, lobster and shrimp are not the same thing, but I think I get what you're saying... it doesn't have to be difficult at all.
You really need to specify that you thaw frozen lobster in a water-proof bag. We thawed them just in water like you said and found out that was not the correct method.....
what do you mean you thawed them just in water? Was the water not in a container when you were thawing them? And why must that container be a water-proof bag? Can it not be a bowl?
I did cook it according to the recipe. Honestly, none liked it. The time formula didn't work on my case. Better broil it until it becomes a bit "fried" on the top.
Hmm, I've made this dozens of times and it has worked every time with various sizes of lobster tail. Some troubleshooting tips in case this helps: Was the lobster 4-6 inches from the broiler? Was the broiler set to "high" (500 degrees F)? Was the lobster fresh or thawed (not frozen)? Doing any of these things differently can impact the end result. You can always use a meat thermometer to tell for sure.
I make them the Swedish way, with our swedish lobsters, not with invasive lobsters from the US. Theese if we cath them on the Swedish Westcost "Homarus americanus", they end up going straight to the Landfill.
Everyone has there opinion. My opinion is I like her talking because quite a bit is learned if you listen. I was left with no question as to how to prepare and cook lobster

If you go down further on the comments, she says to use 500 degrees so use the high setting

Amazing video and very detailed. About to make them now. Have a great day 😊
Thanks so much for this tutorial. It always looked intimidating. Lol, lobster tails. 😂 but since all ovens made differently what temp for broiling? 450 ok or 500?
Hi Donna, On my oven Broil automatically sets it to 500 degrees F, so if yours has a temperature setting for the broiler, use 500. Hope this helps!
I made them, my wife has a new fav, oh no need a better paying job! Details are fantastic without making the video long. You are fantastic! 😊

Thank you for sharing, I'll have to try that next time!
I'm trying this today. Now, it gives me a better way to cook lobster tails.
I didn’t move the oven tray close enough, so it took a little longer, but they turned out amazing! Thank you. I’m keeping this video!

Do you put the broiler on hi or lo?
Excellent, precise video! What brand are your kitchen shears? When can i purchase them?
Not sure about her brand, but I found some great ones at Williams Sonoma. I have used mine for lobster tails, whole lobsters and even to quickly remove the shells from shrimp.
Thank you for sharing! Quick question, my broiler has high and low. Should I cook them on High, or on Low?

@SimplyHealthTips what if you have a gas. To broil with gas they will be real close to the flame. Again on my gas I also have high and low

Awesome! Enjoy!
Oh, wow! That looks scrumptious!🤤. Who knew it could be so simple!
Thank you for sharing your “secret” recipe🤩
Thank you!! Hope you get the chance to try soon!
Should it use broil high or low? My oven has two choices.
Looks Delicious! Have to make these soon.
Thank You!
I wonder if I could just do this in a standard over at like 400 degrees
Adjustment for a really big tail (25 oz)? Or is the timing the same?. Thanks.
How do these turn out if try to broil in gas stove? Cause they will be closer to the flame. So if you have a gas would it be best to bake these then on Hugh temp?
I cooked today, it was so delicious! Thank you.
What temperature on the broiler?
Going to try tomorrow is the broiler supposed to ve low or high. thank you
High. Sorry, mine had just one when I recorded this so didn’t realize others had multiple settings.
how much temp to heat up the oven ?
You'd preheat the broiler on your oven. If it has multiple settings, set it to 500 degrees F.
Is the weight including the shell?
Is 140F in 1 minute can cook 1 lobster tail? Curious bec im gonna cook first time lobster tail next week
Oh, wow! Mine came out perfect, although, I mangled the shell. :) Saving this video for later. Thank you.
What is the distance between rack and broiler?
Hi Darren, Position the rack so that the tops of the lobster tails are 4-6 inches from the broiler.
Beautiful lobster tails, and thank you for explaining about the lobsters weight and cook time!!!A1
What temperature did u put on the oven?
Hi great video! Do I broil on high or low for the 8 mins? Thanks!
Thank you! Broil on high :)
@@WholesomeYum I did they turned out great! Thanks

Yes, the highest. :)
Nice work! Love the video and I’m preheating the oven as we speak!
I love the explanation, I just wish I could know another option than butter because I am dairy free
Some readers have told me it worked with them with olive oil, I haven’t personally tried it though. You could also use ghee if you’re just lactose sensitive but it’s technically dairy.
Try Avacado oil with I can't beleive it's not butter or margarine 50/50
❤are you broiling on high or low? Ty!!
High. :)
What about the legs on the flip side?
Is it cooked through?
at what temperature should you cook it oven? please
Broil it on high. With the rack at the middle position in the oven
Perfect. Looks fantastic. Thanks!
Thank you, David! Hope you'll try them soon!
Broil high or low?
On high broil or low?
If you have multiple settings, broil on high.
When you say 1 minute per ounce, is it measured with the shell weight or just meat weight only ?
That's with the shell. :)
I cooked 4 4 oz tails. But ended up a tad chewy
@@WholesomeYum thank You 🙏😊

what temp is the oven on?? thanks
350 degrees. I know I’m late to this party but for anyone else needing the answer. We’ve always cooked at that temp one minute per ounce and it comes out looking like shove.

Hi Michael, it would be the broil setting, 500 degrees F if your broiler has multiple settings.

Why do cooks find it necessary to add parsley to their foods?
I think it looks pretty. We eat with our eyes first! Feel free to skip it if you don’t like it.
Video is good... but that background music is super distracting imo.
I cooked my 3 oz lobster tails on broil for 4 mins to be safe (1 min per oz) and it was raw 😐
Sorry to hear that! Was the lobster 4-6 inches from the broiler and broiler set to high?
Must be nice to have lobster
I have to eat fish sticks
It would be nice if she shared the broiling temperature, and not just the time of broiling process. Geez!

It works with the broiler high setting in the oven. At other temperatures it would be different.
