the first cake was NOT worth the money for me personally, I know cake decorating is hard and an art but I would never pay more than 40 for that one. The second "cake" was cool and good work on "cake" to but NO cake? I know you sai "I don´t need a lot of pices "but COME ON chargin 400 for that was INSANE, ok if it was an art piece that was not going to spoil but this will eventually...🤔. The third one O_o OMG they got the assignment it´s amazing that one looks like a cake that be even more expensive. I think that third cake is the best one of ALL the cakes you have gotten so far since you started this series.
As a home cake decorator for more than 40 years, I think all of the time spent in making the decorations and those buttercream stripes and the amount of cake in the first cake was definitely worth $75. While the second cake was a piece of art, you did order a cake and you only got enough cake for a family meal. You paid $400 for art, not cake. The third cake? Worth every penny! A work of art and tons of cake! A win win! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! ❤
You nailed it 100%. Cake #1, definitely worth $75. As a hobby cake decorator, stripes be hard. Cake #2 for $400…oh my, there’s no cake???!!!!! Just paying for the sculpture Big No there. Cake #3, total winner.

#3 definitely is the winner. Amazing details, totally worth the money. #1, $75 is totally fair. #2…nope $400 bought you a sculpture….impressive to look at, very little cake. I love the idea of you working with a bakery. That would be fun. And Christmas….a theme cake would be fun. Like A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Candy Cane Christmas, A Scrooge Christmas…..you get the idea.
Yous don't know what you're on about, that second one is vastly under priced for the amount of details on it. She asked for a little bit of cake and that's what she received, I'm sure had she not have said that, they would've added something else to add more slices.
I would love to see Kevin trying the cakes when you do. Not only to include him but to do get a side by side opinion on the taste and flavors. Love this series!
I thought so too. For me the biggest disappointment in that one was the big black piping loops, it was distracting and hid a lot of the cake and looked unappetizing.
16:11 Keeping the “cake humps” in the 5 star wedding cake is why it leans without falling. Cake untouched is stronger than a cake with everything trimmed & the levels cut out & then stacked. I don’t level box cakes or old recipes at home, especially when it’s chocolate cake because the outer (slightly burnt) crust is the best part
I think that would be so much fun!! I've been making cakes for so long, but nothing like what they can do! It would be amazing to learn how to do it and share the process of what kind of planning and prep goes into cakes like these!
If you're expecting to have a big cake for $400, and you hadn't agreed on a small number of slices, then I agree. Thankfully, the baker talked to her ahead of time and they agreed on a cake with just a few slices. Personally, I see the $400 cake as more of an edible sculpture- worth the price as a sculpture, maybe not as a cake.
well fortunately most bakers are sane and ask how many people the cake needs to serve. she said it didn't need to be a lot of cake and to go crazy on the decorating. they did just that. if you say that and expect cake then you're the one at fault. lol
My husband and I got married on Halloween, and although we didn't have a wedding or cake, this would have been an awesome wedding cake!! We even have rings that say 'till death' on them!
A 1:6 scale figurine can go for around $200, now having something that is double the size and made of cake is impressive as hell and for $400, easy 5/5 for chainsaw massacre.
I feel like the $75 cake was 5/5 for decorating. It's being compared to cakes that are so much more it's not an even playing field. But if I bought that for my family, I'd be thrilled! The $400 cake also deserved a 5, I think. You could have it on display at a party, then surprise everyone at the end - totally amazing!
The third cake is amazing, but as a Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan, the second cake wins for me. There is so much detail in the clothes and the mask, and you can tell the baker is an actual fan of the franchise and not someone who just looked up scary movies and randomly picked a character.
I agree. Cake #2 wins by a country mile imo. And I've never even seen TTCM, so I'm not biased in either direction! #3 has the impact of scale. #2 has class. Physics, anatomy - absolutely _superb_ creation.
Finally someone sane, the third one is so boring imo but as a horror fan that second one is incredible and I'm pretty sure had she not told them to only do a little bit if cake, everyone would've chilled in the comments.

The last cake is just outstanding though. If I'd wanted an Autumn wedding, I'd so have wanted a wedding cake like this. Even as just a Halloween party cake, I'd still be thrilled if I'd been spending that sort of money. Archie though... I mean, can he get any cuter!
Thank you so much. You’ve solved a lifelong mystery for me. I love crusted butter cream icing but never knew the name of it until now. The bakery my childhood cakes came from used it. I’ve spent my adult years trying to get a cake made with it, but never knew its name. Now I know what to ask for. Apparently crusted butter cream isn’t a popular choice here in Pittsburgh.
For $400 dollars, I don't care how well detailed the cake if, if it's not feeding at least 15 people, it's not considered a cake. I love #2 but it's criminal how much cake there is in that thing
Cake 2 could have added a sheet cake at the bottom to give more cake or put him on a bit of a hill of cake. People aren’t picking that masterpiece because of the lack of cake on that cake. Should have been 5/5
I always look forward to this series! Somehow it just always shows up on my feed randomly cuz i honestly don’t see a lot of your other videos! Can’t wait for the Christmas theme cakes!
I really like your videos - not only because they are fun to watch but also as they give me a glimpse into what an other culture's cake - falvour -filling looks like. But I do wish you would treat those cake slices with more respect and in food general. I do not mean to be mean honest - but this thought comes back to me each time I see one of your videos. Please keep up the good work! And I hope we'll see you bake and decorate soon, I miss those vids! 😊
Hi! I’m newer to the channel and absolutely in love with all your videos! I was just curious if there was a upload schedule or anything of sorts so I can try not to miss new videos since I usually miss notifications, thanks!
I was having such a tough day and just opened youtube to see this video. it made my day seeing this suggested. Love this vid (and all the rest of yours) so much!
Archie just holding his toy brought back wonderful memories for me. I adopted an older beagle years ago who didn't have the best life before he met me. I took him to the pet store right after adopting him and he picked out an elephant toy. He never tore it up, or let my other beagle touch it. It was his. He just carried it around and slept with it.... The elephant toy is on Woody's ashes box as we speak. RIP Woody!
I would of never considered a Halloween cake to be pretty, but that cake was so detailed and stunning. That bakers skill is top tier. If they would collab with you that would be awesome!
It’s funny how you mention the camera perspective, because whenever I see you on the main camera, I feel like im just with you. But when im on Kevin’s camera, I feel like im looking at Kevin. I picture him instead
Even though the 3rd cake is larger and sort of impressive, I think the 2nd cake would be a lot harder to make and is stunningly impressive. Just the gravity aspects alone of the second cake are impressive, but when you add in the physical aspects of a body, muscles, the flow of the wrinkles in the shirt, the jeans, the apron, the pose of the body, etc., it is just beyond amazing! It is harder to make a cake that looks like an actual person's body than to construct something abstract like the 3rd cake. None of the elements on the 3rd cake are hard to make, nor do they have to be precise. The elements on the 2nd cake are difficult and do have to be precise and proportionate. You DID tell the 2nd bakery that you didn't care about how many it fed, but just wanted something really cool. They gave you a TON of labor on the cake decorations, which is what you were paying them for by your own words, the third, not nearly as many hours went into it as far as decorations. The 2nd cake is to wow your friends, be a focal point at a party, and is so impressive you barely want to cut into it. The 3rd cake is so your friends think, that is pretty cool and want to eat it. I worked in a bakery for many, many years. I guess that is just my opinion, which probably isn't worth that much.
All three are awesome. I was concerned about the $400 one not having so little cake but if it tasted great and you didn't specify a number of guests... amazing. That horror wedding cake is like handing out a resume, Sweetheart you've got the job!
They are all 3 worth what you paid for but that wedding one is absolutely amazing!! Even better than hellraiser and chuckie!! I absolutely love that cake!! They need an award for that one!! 😊😊
_Chainsaw_ #2, get's my vote simply by judging your *flavor* expression ! The artwork and structure is outstanding and while the cake is not *huge* - the price is fair when design and flavor are added in. #3 meets all three needs but you did say the top layer was dryer than layer 2 and 3. I would put a price tag of $800 max on that one. Mother's delivery had us *howling* where price, size, flavor matched. Great viewing again today, thank you!!
You will never convince me that red velvet is good. It's a wimpy flavor and usually dry. I don't think it's bad, but I also don't think it's good. It's usually only saved by amazing frosting and I have always believed cake should be delicious with or without frosting.
My disappointment with the second cake. Is that you don't get 'much' out of it in terms of eating. But the artistry was on point. All the cakes were worth their price for sure. Definitely do the collab with that bakery!
Hey love. I’ve been watching you for a few years now. In older videos you guys mentioned giving cake to family members and everyone is getting “caked out” I just wanted to suggest donating the left over cake to soup kitchens in your area. They feed a lot of people and I’m sure the people that go there otherwise wouldn’t have access to bakery cakes. It would make a nice desert for them and give all of you a break from the cake! ❤

Even as just a Halloween party cake, I'd still be thrilled if I'd been spending that sort of money. Archie though... I mean, can he get any cuter!
Icing-mom has to be her new name. I love that so much lol! She low key help out so much with the channel all the time!
Yes... But she did say she didn't need much cake to the second bakery. She probably would've gotten more cake had she not have said that.
Your mom is so funny Laurie and hearing her cuss is hilarious 😊❤😊
I couldn't stop laughing every time watching it back lmao.
@@TheIcingArtist me too! 😂😂
I'd LOVE to see F•R•I•E•N•D•S TV show inspired cakes! If this has already happened and I've missed it, I need to know! 😊
It hasn't! But I do love the idea of taking popular fandoms, and turning that into a fun challenge!
The third cake is amazing!!! 5 definitely! The lean gives it character!!! Love you guys!! Shout out to Archie!!!
I love the dragging icing butt of the monster cake, idk that’s so impressive that they thought about it
Right? Such a small detail, but it really sold me on the third cake.
For $400 dollars, I don't care how well detailed the cake if, if it's not feeding at least 15 people, it's not considered a cake.
I love #2 but it's criminal how much cake there is in that thing
You should 100% go into the bakery and work with their staff to make an amazing cake! I would love watching that!
Cake 2 could have added a sheet cake at the bottom to give more cake or put him on a bit of a hill of cake. People aren’t picking that masterpiece because of the lack of cake on that cake. Should have been 5/5
I always watch your videos with my bf before sleep, we get so happy whenever a new one comes out, comfy time ♡
I am only hurting myself watching this while fasting, but i love your videos so much!
three pretty good cakes. really impressed by everyone!
Hi Laurie! I was just rewatching all of the Halloween videos the other day!
The 2nd and 3rd cakes were absolutely amazing. The amount of detail, just wow!
Cake 1 jank'd elements play into broke down/haunted house feel. Cake 2 is 3D fun! Cake 3: Off the hook! Happy fall Laurie, Kevin & Archie!
This is the series that got me into this channel. I'm so excited for this video
Hi! I’m newer to the channel and absolutely in love with all your videos! I was just curious if there was a upload schedule or anything of sorts so I can try not to miss new videos since I usually miss notifications, thanks!
Welcome to the craziness!! I usually upload every other Friday ♥️♥️♥️
@@TheIcingArtist OMG you replied! Thank you!
I was having such a tough day and just opened youtube to see this video. it made my day seeing this suggested. Love this vid (and all the rest of yours) so much!
these cakes were so amazing i love the wedding cake one so much!! these bakeries never disappoint
Watching a video without all the details is kind of disappointing but the cakes were super fun
We are so not sober during the making of this cake. She isn’t on her game. Her reactions are super slow. She is def taking something or on something.
IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN! I love how all the 3 cakes look! They are all amazing!
Oh wow!! The third cake is freaking AWESOME!!!! Makes me want to renew my vows with my husband so we can have a Halloween "wedding" with that cake lol
WAW they are all 3 great for the price. But special mention to n2 and a spectacular wow for n3!!! The winner is still our cute and sweet Archie
9:08 DO IT!!! I would love love to see the process of what goes into making these beautiful and gigantic cakes
I love these types of videos you post! So much fun!🩷 My favorite was the 3rd cake!🎃
Yay so excited I look forward to these videos every year so iconic!!!
I never had a dry red velvet cake. But yes never a great tasting cake and hate the amount of colour that needs to make it this red.
That third cake for a Halloween wedding is a steal of a deal for only $1000.
So many go for double that price and they're plain and smaller.
That crazy pumpkin wedding cake?! Everything! I'd want a Halloween wedding just for the cake. Awesome❤
That third cake was mind blowing and way better than many actual wedding cakes I’ve seen! So creative and well executed
Love the 3rd cake, the 2nd looked a little small for the price and the 1st looked good for a family or kids party.
Nah that second one is incredible, she just said she specifically asked for a little amount if cake so it's not the bakeries fault.
The LOVE SWEAT AND BLOOD THAT WENT INTO THE THIRD CAKE (literally) AARGH THEY ARE THE BEST ❤
My disappointment with the second cake. Is that you don't get 'much' out of it in terms of eating. But the artistry was on point. All the cakes were worth their price for sure. Definitely do the collab with that bakery!
The last one...WOW. Art and science, just incredible!!!!!
Please make this a series❤
“It’s fine, they didn’t go above or beyond.” Well yeah. You paid $75 for a $75 cake.
The second cake is really cool, but I actually like to eat cake and there wasn’t much because the price went to the art. There needs to be a balance.
I get so excited for these episodes!!! Love them!!!!!
Ps you got it all right!
Okay- but i honestly really like how the cake looks tilted. yes its not meant to look like that but it gives a kinda topsy turvy vibe
3rd cake is driving me nuts bc it's TIL DEATH not TILL DEATH....I'd be upset with that detail if it was my wedding cake
