To answer your question about why Open Season has sequels. Open Season is popular in Russia, which could explain why Sony made two sequels. The sequels actually got a theatrical release over there.

Sony didn’t made Open Season sequels because of Russia it’s because of the success of the first movie on DVD they figured the sequels would be more strait to video, plus the sequels came out in other countries minus US and UK
Sam Feldstein it wasn’t Russia the reason why is because of the DVD sales of Open Season that’s why Sony decided to make the second & third film Scared Silly was made because of the 10th anniversary of Open Season
Well, to be fair, Mr. Weenie was probably the best character in the first film. Yeah, he didn't do much, but he wasn't annoying.
I'm just glad that these sequels are direct to video.

Yup. I heard the third one was a theatrical release in Russia while being direct to video elsewhere. Guess the Russians love their bears a little too much.

For one thing, instead of being a sequel to OS3, its place in the Franchise’s chronology is unclear as Elliot and Giselle aren’t married and they don’t have kids, yet Mr Weenie is living with this owners rather than in the wild.

I used to watch the first 3 Open Season movies when I was younger, the first was okay, but looking back on the sequels, yeah they didn't age well.

FINALLY! A Toy Story review! I've been waiting for a review on that movie for so long. It bugged me when you reviewed Toy Story 2 without reviewing the first one, but I'm glad it's finally happening.

I think he'd give the animation 10/10 just to be fair, since while horrendous by today's standards, it WAS the first cgi movie ever. It probably looked glorious back then.

I think most of the animation in the first story looked fine especially with the toys themselves. Maybe the environments and there textures aren’t as advance as today’s animation but they at least don’t look ugly. The only thing I will say that doesn’t look good at all is the human animations. They just look plastic (a bit ironic I know) and have weird facial expressions (especially Sid), comparing the humans to this and toy story 2 is almost night and day. I can see why Pixar’s first movie was based off Toys since they have an excuse to look plastic. Sids dog also has this issue.

How funny is that Open Season 1 was the last to air on Jetix Latin America, before becoming Disney XD latin america.
And funny on how was directed by Karey Kirkpatrick and Roger Allers.

It definitely will. The score for this movie in IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes are garbage, and the movie made itself clear that it's just a lego movie rip-off. Not to mention that there are countries where this movie already released and I heared almost nothing but bad reviews for this

Eh, I don't know. I liked this when I was a kid. The in-built DVD games were fun. Never realised how bad it was until seeing this review, but I have fond memories of it and I like to keep it that way.

Best thing about Open Season 2 by a landslide is that Crispin Glover voices the poodle. Googling Crispin Glover opens up a world of wonder and mystery.

I love how you sounded in pain at the begging. Ooooohhh, I thought the first movie was bad. The second one was pretty weird, the third one was (probetly) the worst one and never saw Scared Silly.

I kind of saw the seal of garbage coming, but to be frank, it’s a direct-to-video movie, and usually, those kinds of films have “This is a soulless cash grab meant to steal your money and waste your time” written all over them. That’s why in most cases, I tend to avoid them like the plague because I know they’re going to suck, so it’s understandable for you to give this the seal of garbage. Now, I’m not saying all direct-to-video movies are bad, and it has been awhile since I’ve watched Open Season 2, but my point still stands.
By the way, since this is really getting on my nerves, I have to ask, can we please stop calling AniMat a Sony hater? Seriously, I am so sick and tired of seeing those comments floating around claiming that he has a Sony bias when that is clearly not the case whatsoever. I remember reading a couple of those comments on his review for the original Lion King last month, and I just found them so annoying. He doesn’t like a lot of their movies. So what? Does it really matter what he thinks about their movies? Is his opinions really going to affect how you feel about them? Besides, he doesn’t hate everything that Sony makes, you know. He gave Surf’s Up and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse positive reviews. Even if he did hate everything that the studio made, which I know he didn’t, but even if he did, why do you guys even care if he likes their movies or not? It’s his opinion, and you people should have the decency to respect that even if you may not agree with him. I myself don’t always agree with his opinions, but I still respect them nevertheless, and I think he explains his reasons very well as to why he likes/dislikes certain movies of theirs.
Look, at the end of the day, what I’m trying to say here is that you can enjoy Sony Animation’s movies all you want. I personally enjoy most of their work myself. But can we please, for the love of God, quit giving AniMat such a hard time just because he has a different opinion than everybody else on Sony Pictures Animation? Is that too much to ask? Is it? Seriously, just grow the fuck up, cut the guy a break and leave him alone, OK? He puts hard work into these reviews, and you people should appreciate what he does for you because he didn't even want to review this movie, and he never would have done so if it weren't for the fact that this was a Patreon request, so just be thankful that he even reviewed it in the first place.
I apologize for this lengthy comment, but I just had to get that off my chest because it really does bother me whenever ignorant people like that just want to stir up the pot and give someone trouble just because their opinions don’t line up with the majority. To quote what AniMat said at 9:12-9:15, "This kind of idiocy is not fun to deal with." Anyway, to end this comment on a positive note, I’m excited for the Toy Story review coming next month. I can’t wait to see what rating he gives it.

These "Open Season" sequels may be unnecessary, but at least making them DTV doesn't make them a big deal in the long run.

At this point, Classic Review suggestions are starting to feel like a Patreon only thing. It’s been almost a year since you even touched the Animation Hat. The twice reviews that felt other viewers still had a chance, but now it feel like only the elite fans can pick your reviews, which doesn’t feel as special.

It’s sad when you realize that the Disney veteran Matthew O’ Callaghan directed this film. He directed great stuff like The Itsy Bitsy Spider short, Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, Curious George, and all 6 of the 3D Reel FX Looney Tunes shorts.
I also wonder why there hasn’t been an Open Season series yet. I think it would be a better series than the Cloudy one.

And I can speak from experience that I got nothing from it, even as a kid I knew something was wrong
