Ooooh, that’s what it was doing. I was confused why I couldn’t get all of the picture when cropping! Fantastic tip, thanks as always for a hugely useful vid, Chris!
I find it hilarious I keep getting advertisements for the Cadillac XT4 every time I watch your videos. Yes, definitely in the market for a Cadillac… Not a Fujifilm XT4.
Very cool. I really hope you're going to continue this video series for C1Pro - so useful and informative, even tho it's not as glamorous perhaps as gear-focused content.
Didn't realize that that happened. I'm new to C1 so this is nice info to have. I'll leave the settings as is for now. Most of the pictures I've imported so far are with my 16-80 Fuji lens .Thanks Chris.
Hi Chris, I have just discovered that Capture One has a Focus Mask option - any chance you could do a short video on this and also on sharpening? Thanks Julie
Hi! Thanks for the tip, but it doesn't solve the problem. The greyed area of the photo is perfectly corrected for lines and is just cropped. If I turn lens correction to zero, the barrel distortion appears, so I have to leave it at 100%, but a huge part of the photo is automatically cropped, even if the lines are perfectly fine. On crop tool, if I pull the cropping handles, the area of the image that appears is perfect, not distorted at all. Also, for the same lens and camera, it show different resolutions for different positions of the zoom (higher resolution for wide angle). Why is that? If I could, I would upload a couple of screenshots.
Is there a way to get an imagine (the full size image) into a certain ratio? I've got an image I like and don't want to crop, I also have a frame which is 10x12" . I want the full image to fit inside but not sure if it can be scaled down to fit inside without losing the edges. Any help would be great thanks. Toby
Just finished watching this last lesson and ended your tutorial. Compliments for the great work you did! I wanted to ask if you can do a focused lesson on styles (presets in lightroom) and if there is a way to import in C1 presets created in lightroom. Thanks!
One thing I noticed is that my Fujifilm JPEGs are always 6240x4160px, even with lens corrections enabled in camera. I do not understand how they do this. Scaling maybe?
I'm new to Fuji and new to shooting raw. I use Affinity Photo (that I bought years before the camera). I'd be very interested in a comparison between Capture One and Affinitiy Photo, with a focus on (but not necessarily limited to) handling Raw files from Fuji. Everyone says Capture One handles Fuji Raw-files better than Lightroom, but how about Affinity Photo? Thank You for an invaluable channel!
WRONG! There is a distortion slider, which, as you mentioned, puts the distortion back in. And there is the Crop Tool, where you can uncrop the image by draging the crop box, but the distortion stays the same. two completely different things.
Brilliant “Gem” find. Should perhaps accept slight default crop if without it lens distortion mars image quality. Super drone footage w/cool reflections, btw. Happy Thanksgiving - stay out of crowded stores.
If you turn of "Disable Default Lens Correction" and import new photos, no lens correction will be applied to your images. You then have to correct each image manually.
Good to know but Lightroom works the same way and I guess every other image editor out there. Unless the editor can content aware fill those post-lens-correction empty areas (and who would trust it to do so), or you actually want to keep those empty areas, the program is just going to delete them by cropping in.
So when I'll see a photo with horrible pin cushion or barrel distortion in the future; I'll know the person who took it saw this video and followed its advice.
Chris, I know you're the boss, but maybe "Disable" or "Prevent" would be a better verb to put on the title of this video. I'm just saying it because this is something that's been annoying me for a while and I didn't really get that this video was about it until I was like a minute in.
Dear Mr 2tech, please don't stop with the CAP1 vids, they are so helpful and couldn't be better than coming from you. Thank you loads and some...
I search for so long to find out about this issue. I'm so glad I found your video talking about it! Thank you a lot
Ooooh, that’s what it was doing. I was confused why I couldn’t get all of the picture when cropping!
Fantastic tip, thanks as always for a hugely useful vid, Chris!
You bet!
I was importing some photos into C1 and started this video, noticed this for the first time just now. Instant practical application.
I’ve been struggling with this for weeks! Thank you and keep going with Capture One tutorials for Fuji please :):)
You got it!
Another great video, thank you. Keep those Capture One tutorials coming.
You bet!
Thanks Chris I wasn't aware this was happening, so now thanks to you it is not happening anymore !
Yeah, I was getting so many questions I figured I tackle it head on.

super helpful, thanks for breaking this down!
Really good series! Thanks.
This was driving me crazy! Thank you for restoring my sanity!!!!
Didn't realize that that happened. I'm new to C1 so this is nice info to have. I'll leave the settings as is for now. Most of the pictures I've imported so far are with my 16-80 Fuji lens .Thanks Chris.
I don't use Capture One but I do look at all your videos !!! Great channel keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you!
I love fast friday. Always learn something new!! Thanks a lot Chris!!!
My pleasure! You are so awesome Juan!!!!!!
Thank you! I wondered why a million times!
thanks dude ! i was wondering why my picture was cropped !
Please! Keep them videos coming !!
Im curious whether Fujifilm cameras are doing the same trick creating JPEG if LMO is ON?
But then you'll have distortion..right? (i.e. uncorrected). Would it maybe be better to choose the Manufacturer Profile?

In-camera JPEGs are also automatically corrected (cropped) like this, right?
thanks for this info. they suck a big one for making this a default
Thank you! You made my day!
Thank you! Capture was applying this to all my Dji Phantom 4 Pro DNG stills. All good now :-)

A big thank you for sharing... I was driving mad lately. Thanks
LOL, me also!!! 👍

Excellent! Love my Fuji and Capture One.
Good choice!
@pal2tech Hello! Is the 10-24 mm is good for video? or better 14mm 2.8? or 16mm 1.4? or viltrox 23 ?
Thank you in advance!
10-24 is good, but only if you have IBIS with XT4. 18-55 overall is best with XT3
😊Thank you.
finally I found the reason, Thanks a lot.
No worries!
I like your C1 video❤very useful 😊谢谢你

I don't mind the Lens correction but it crops it even further than that as well which drives me nuts
Good tip, great video as always! thank you. :)
My pleasure!
Hey Pal what lens are you using on your reviews? That thing is so clear
Not a capture one (or Lightroom) user but good to know if I were to use it, which I should try to soon!
thats great may i know how many episodes left for capture one i mean your last episode is 3 and ur going to do 4th one
Thanks! Here's episode 4 of C1: th-cam.com/video/lttC9cx-klE/w-d-xo.html. More to come!
Very nice tip. It is great to know why so I can decide what to do ☺️👌👍
Awesome!
I needed this.. hahahah fast fridayyyyy
Muchas gracias!
Buen consejo, nunca me había dado cuenta de ése detalle.
yes but how to disable autocrop after croping while tethering. then it always crop next image. horrible.i dont mean this issue with distortion
Great tip, thanks!
You bet!
Legend!🙌🙌
Many thanks! (I feel better now)
Thank you!
That's been bugging me for ages.
Any time!
Thanks!

Thanks that's very helpful.
You're welcome!
Yes! Thank you!
Any time!
Thanks Chris, this is the kind of software "default behavior" that would have driven me to madness had you not spared me!
Sure
Nice tip! Good to keep in mind if I don't want to crop. (I usually crop my photos slightly anyway lol)
No worries!
OK OK, just this time. I like today’s fast Friday. Only today! 😂🤣
Great video as always!
Yay! Thank you!
Learned something

Good Grief, THANK YOU
If we don't see you again before then, I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving! And if we do, well until next time! :)
You too Harold!!!!! 👍 All the best to you and catch you soon around here!!!!!
Love Capture One but the autocrop...
You did not explain what the function is of autocrop?
good chóp amazaing

Great suggestion!!! 👍🏻 Done!
You really not know, how this tool works and why CO does this crop.
The crop is not automatically by all Lenses.
like! subscribe! from Russia:)
