      Totally agree. That is exactly the reason why I never use it. The default simulations are so stale once you configured some improved custom sims.

    Tip on flicker: The electronic flicker is a product of the line voltage frequency. You need to be aware of that frequency beforehand. In America, 60Hz. In many other parts of the world, it’s 50Hz. LED bulbs will cycle at double that frequency (120Hz or 100Hz). Set your shutter speed in multiples of that frequency, like 0.5, 1, 2, and so on (eg: for 50Hz 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, /200, etc).

    Natural live view is a good one to assign to a custom button or screen swipe if you use flash frequently. You can also use natural live view with the expanded RGB histogram to check for highlights being clipped. Great video Chris

      Good tip my man! I also recommend using "natural live view" in lowlight situations for a much better preview of the scene. Since there is no tone curve whatsoever applied, you can you see the darker areas of your scene much more clearly.

How to take good photos of birds and wildlife like a professional would (my photos suck as I still don’t know if I need a shutter speed of 40 or 100, 200 or more even?

    Hello all, one question about sound settings. It looks like you can save custom settings for IQ, AF/MF etc, so that for example C1 can have different settings VS C2 and so on. However, everything nested into the wrench menu sets the camera universally, so I don't have a way to have the sound on with C1 but sound off with C2. At least on X-S10, I don't know about the other Fuji cameras

    I knew most of these, learned several from you. One big challenge I face in getting the settings right on my X-T5 is that I shoot multiple genres: wildlife, macro, street, portrait, travel, landscape, abstract. Now that the X-T5 has good animal and eye tracking, I shoot autofocus-mostly with XF lenses-and manual focus-often with manual 3rd-party lenses.
    I’ve tried to optimize settings, and do use a suite of custom menus, which I continue to tune. Just got the camera back from a professional sensor cleaning-and a reset of many menu choices. Going through the menus in detail, I realize again that
    1) since many of the possible menu choices are mutually contradictory, it’s complicated to get even generic choices like screen display set the way I want them. For example, I always want to see Aperture, Shutter, ISO in viewfinder & screen, but Aperture and Shutter Priority turn off the display of the other parameter.
    2) Some choices have unanticipated consequences; e.g., shooting singles often requires significant processing lag for save to card, but shooting bursts with the same settings doesn’t! Sometimes I have been able to identify the slow operation, sometimes I haven’t.
    I never use flash or shoot video, so I don’t have to deal with those complexities. How do people manage to ride this beast?

    • @Brian444
      @Brian444 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The lag when shooting single could be because of the clarity setting? If you have clarity on anything other than 0 it will take more time to process the photo. If you shoot in burst it will ignore the clarity setting which makes the processing faster.

    Thanks for the tricks and tips! One question though. Have you experienced problems in catching real red light when the light source is radiating; e.g. car tail lights, neon signs. My X-T1 just can not reproduce red correctly in those situations. Same applies to my cell phone camera. When the red is reflected light from any surface then red is perfect.

    Each command dial does many things when pressed or rotated. Most camera’s functions can be adjusted with just them. Front for switching and adjusting aperture, iso, exp compensation. Rear for shutter speed, program shift, choose focus frame size, assigned function, etc.

    I keep hearing about rolling shutter syndrome on the X-H2. In the majority of cases (rapid pans in a horizontal plane), is this still apparent if the camera is used in portrait orientation? If not, I wonder why the sensor cannot be read horizontally in electronic shutter mode...

    The interval timer is one of my favorite little things. But I would not use it without having the "focus by half pressing the shutter button"-option on. I cant for the life of me remember what its called. But that way it re-focuses every frame, so if you move it will focus on you. Sometimes you have to turn it off for whatever reason, but in general it's a lifesaver

    I guess the flickerless shutter speed depends on which region you are. I expected to have 50hz and 60hz option, but the ability to set shutter speed in small increments is welcomed as well.

    Flash does work with the electronic shutter, at least on my X-H2S.

    Something that drives me insane is that when using Natural live view, you’re locked in to the film sim you’ve selected. I wish it would show just a standard negative or bo film sim at all with natural live view regardless of selected film sim. Am I wrong about this or doing something incorrectly? I’d like to see my Acros setup and then switch to a color natural live view as more of a RAW preview. Any way to do that? Thanks for talking about film sim bracketing, that’s gonna be. Game changer for me!

    Love your videos, always making me try new things... However I broke my camera... It fell really hard and fix it costs almost as much as the entire camera 😢... Can you make a video on how to deal with that type of trauma? 😢😢😢

    For those who have a GFX, ie 100S, for the film sim bracketing, go into your drive mode to select the film sim bracketing since the GFX does not have a dial for that.

      Hi may i know what type of photography you do. how is X-H2 autofocus, a lot of people complaining about autofocus is not good even in still photography it cant focus accurately. is it produce sharp images like sony

      For me I see no difference between the Fujifilm and my a7c. The focus is fast. And precisely on point. But the viewfinder of the Fuji simply said is 😮😮😮. Detailed and exact. No comparison to the Sony

      @@ronaldheinrich6683 Thanks for your reply. you said the focus is precise but some photographers on youtube is saying its not as sharp as full frame especially the eyes and eyebrows. its because of they dont know the focus settings or something, i am thinking to take xh 2 or xt 5. i do mainly weddings. what do you suggest

    • @ronaldheinrich6683
      @ronaldheinrich6683 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know them both. Both have their place. I think the X-H2 is more convenient for your specifications. You can personalize the buttons as on the x-t5. But this camera, the x-t5, slows down the photography in a very relaxing way so to say. You sit and wait and use the aperture and iso and wait for the moment. The X-H2 is more professional in the way you are looking for

    I remember that one of the early Fuji X cameras had a hot key to switch to silent shutter (long press one of the keys turned it into silent mode with electronic shutter, no flash and no beeps). Is this still hidden somewhere?

      Hold display button back and you can then assign a shutter type to any function key of your choosing

    Chris,
    Q: I've been using my X-T5 for 6 or 7 months now. I am a long time photographer (48 years) with mostly experience in Pentax, Nikon and Canon (for 12 years+).
    I can't figure out how to remove the "OK next" prompt after taking an image, in the (viewfinder, and also on the display as well)?
    It's the one thing that bothers me as I had it set to NOT show in the viewfinder/display initially, but after the reset of the camera, it's there... Do you know how to get rid of the "OK Next" text that appears?
    THANKS! 😂

    • @MrPixelgrower
      @MrPixelgrower 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Found it!
      the Set Up menu -> Screen Set-Up-> Image DISP.
      It is probably set to CONTINUOUS. This will give you the "OK Next" message.
      To avoid, that set the Image DISP. to a time option, or OFF.

    Nobody can seem to answer this, but when you use the film simulation bracket mode, will it use the saved settings you have applied for a certain film simulation?

    1/50th second for flicker reduction might only work in Japan/Europe where they use 50Hz power. In the US we use 60Hz.

    I need some help from the master :) I'm on a budget and are saving up for a new Fujifilm camera, I've managed for a decade with a couple of x-m1's ... yes that one, the only M camera, I like it, small but solid metal body, sensor is good, pictures are great, but what to upgrade to? you should think I'm happy with almost anything as most cameras should be better than it now, but I'm really not sure, I've seen newer budget fujifilm cameras that do not seem better (I pixel peep and I want that kind of quality) anyway, have you ever though about that a 16MP sensor on a x-m1 is the same size as the 24/26 etc MP sensors in newer cameras, this means the pixels sensors are bigger? and this is one of the arguments fullframe fans like to use is it not? bigger pixels get more light equals better dynamic range and what not.... Anyway -what I look for : weatherproofing, Ibis, x system, flip screen preferably as I like to look down on it, and it needs to be as small as possible since I carry it everywhere... I would like to have a viewfinder now.. the flash I never use so I dont need flash, I shoot in manual most times so I prefer buttons too menues but I'm fine with configurable buttons, what would be a good buy? a series, e series, pro series, s series? I'm looking at the x-s20 now.. I dont know.. I like the ability to do panorama, use it as a webcam, and did I read it could do timelapse?

    Here's something Fujifilm cameras need: White Balance for Flash. (WB-Auto is inconsistent for the on-camera flash and Daylight is too blue.)
    My XS-10 has a white balance setting for underwater shooting. Wow, there must be at least a couple of dozen people on the planet who utilize that feature.
