Iv done similar I just made a hash tag shaped insert and has now got tools in its quite organised because I know roughly where every thing is and because the tools are uprightit helps to locate items its good and quick to do
This box insert is absolutely fabulous. Perhaps you can find a way to manufacture this box either with plywood or high impact styrene plastic. Apply for a patent pronto. I am sure those with similar tools would find this so handy as well as useful. BRAVO!!
Whilst this is a good design its not new as people have been making these since stackable boxes came out . I suspect there are at least 100 different variations on YT
Great job. Can't wait to start to organise my tools. I have like about 15-17 different Tstak cases - big ones, smaller, with clear lid, drawer and so on. ATM hate stoped to do extra jobs because of tool mess. I want to get 3D printer to print attachments, dividers, holders and so on for my power and hand tools.
I recently build my own box out of plywood to keep all of my bit holders, drill bits , countersinks ,spade bits, and nail sets all organized so I can grab whatever I need and then I don’t miss place anything because all of them have a place.
Yours looks very organized. Looks good. I got the Dewalt Tough System tool box and I really like them. It's a mid sized box but very large to fit 2 drills, 3 batteries, charger, and 4 different drill/bit organizers.
Yes the tough system is very nice, I have a friend who has them, I found these boxes locally on sale so went with the Tstak. I have 2 of these large boxes and the drill and impact driver box
I agree great idea! I don't use Spanners, so I'm going to put put 2 pieces of wood approx. An inch apart with dividers so that I can just drop my pliers into it. 🤔 maybe 3??? I'll play around with it. When I do my woodworking I never use instructions, that just takes the fun out of it for me. I just fiddle around until I like it. 6 months later😆😆😆 Ok! I make you a promise I'll get this done today. Now where's my measuring tape, aha!! I'll jot that down with a piece of chalk on my garage floor. "Place for measuring tape" lol. This is how I do my woodworking. Hasn't failed me yet!!
That's a really good design and it looks great. It's lucky that your vid just popped up on my phone as I'm about to make one these myself, and yours is a lot simpler and more elegant than what I had in mind. Excellent job👍
@@BCdesign1 I've got loads of offcuts of birch ply and thin mdf. I'll make the carcass of ply and use the mdf for dividers. It will probably end up painted dewalt signal yellow and black. I'm not on Instagram and I've never done a TH-cam video, but I may well give it a go in future.
Well thought out, for the space available. Two changes I"d make........ use "L" hooks for your spanners (so they stay put) and add a styrofoam board in that screw driver rack space or tighten up that space so you are not always fishing for that lower hole.
Sell this design please! Or get someone to make it. I will buy one! Thanks for the build video. Working in the field out in the rain these systems need a good organizer like this. Much appreciated
I really like this. Very well thought out and nice process. The only thing I'd do differently is change to a single central handle. Probably solid in the plywood and perhaps one that slides up a couple inches before it engages.
Thanks the handle is a nice idea, I found making a central handle tough as I wanted to hang the spanners along the middle, I could figure out a way to do a handle there at the same time
@@BCdesign1 just thinking on it now, the wire handle to a 5 gallon pail could be repurposed. Little plastic part rests on top of the center partition and the wire runs straight down and their ends still have the hooks that catch when the handle is pulled up a couple inches. Im gonna try to remember this for the future.
I really liked it, amazing idea!! I would just have made a different detail from you, instead of side handles, I would have made a single central handle with a hole in the wood itself, I would lose the use of some tools but gain practicality. Congratulations on the work.
Thanks for watching! I couldnt make the central handle and fit the tools I wanted as the inside of the box lid has mouldings that protude downwards when closed. It would mean the handle would be lower than the tool tops and I wouldn't be able to hang my spanners either. To be honest after a using it a lot I really only lift it out of the box now if I need to clean the inside of the box
I've been looking at doing something similar with my TStak. One question - why do you only have to cut a square out of one end piece? The box is symmetrical, isn't it?
Yeah the box is symmetrical, you could make one without the cut out and fit it between the protruding parts in the bottom of the tstak box, but to lay out the amount of screwdrivers I wanted to store in the box I needed more space, so I think i gained an extra 20mm of room by cutting out one side, and that was all I needed so I didn't cut the other side.
Make these and sell them on Amazon! People will pay you! I will pay you but I will only pay for your template/blueprint....i want the enjoyment of building it my self!
Awesome project! And you get props for just getting the holes drilled all the way through the dowel and meeting up!
Thanks!
Looks like Wilson wood glue

That's a very nice idea and also great execution. Love the tools also
Thanks
That looks savage Barry, nice job. I like the green paint job!
Thanks John! Using up every tin of paint I can find here!

Great job - but why I wonder doesn't Dewalt supply dividers and inserts for their tool boxes ?

Wow nice job I'm going to try and make something similar for my new box
Fantastic idea and a nice job of it too
Awesome design. I like the green color
Thanks Ray!
Einstein tried that. He couldnt figure it out and gave up. Who the man ? YOU THE MAN.

The foam between the screwdriver rack is a great idea, havnt had any problems with the spanners falling off yet becsuse the dowels are angled
@@BCdesign1 Good stuff! Thanks for the reply.
Amazing idea, and done wonderfully.

Really great video am going to do the same
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing and being an inspiration.

Thanks, I think id need to invest in a cnc to make these as a kit, might be something ill look into!
Well done. 👏👏👏

Nice touch
That’s awesome
Great job
Great idea. I liked it, up until you painted it green, lol.
🤣thanks!!
I kept hearing Liam Neeson saying he has a very particular set of tools.
He made this box because he was sick of hunting around trying to find his tools
Lol. You took my comment! Qui-Gon's workshop
Who is that? “Saint Michael” who is it? “SAINT MICHAEL!”good boyo… one of my favorite Liam movies!
I shit myself when that dog barked 😂😂
Were you listening with earphones?🤣
BCDesign indeed I was, thought the thing was behind me! 😂😂
What glue & activator do u use please & where can I get some?
Any help welcome.
Hi Paul, I cant remember the make but any hardware shop should have it, I think evostik make one that you can buy on amazon

Bro you are amazing 👍👍
Thanks!
Very neat!
Dude that looks awesome, you should sell it to DeWALT.
Thanks!
Top class!! Hon the Irish!
why didn't you just use the DeWalt draws to organize your tools?
Because I didn't want drawers and I like to make stuff for fun
GOOD IDEA THANKS
Thank you!
I can’t figure out why the tool companies don’t ask contractors what they want for an organized tool box.
Ide probably make a handle in the middle instead of cords
No space for a handle unfortunately
You’ll remember making this project every time you the memory holes in the top of your workbench.😢
Yellow will be more better, than green
👍
