  • Heater not working in my Jeep Wrangler TJ. I tried flushing the heater core that wasn't the problem. everything else worked just no hot air blowing from the vent. The problem was the heater door Actuator. I show how to trouble shoot and install Heater door Actuator.

    I stuck the white air door screw in the hole and turned it to hot manually!
    I now have heat until the part arrives!
    A million thank you's!

    My TJ’s heat started blowing cold suddenly, so I figured it was something electrical, as opposed to heater core clogs, etc. I reseated the electrical plug/connector for that gadget tonight and all is well now. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you so much for for making this video!!! You have no idea how much you saved me. I'm homeless living in my Jeep Wrangler trying to work a double save money I just don't make enough to really save. Most of my money usually goes to gas cause I have to run the Jeep all night to stay warm.. it was my lifeline.. so now it started blowing cold air. And if I don't fix it I'm screwed cause it gets down to below 0° sometimes. Anyway thank you for making this.

    Thank you for this video. It saved me at least three hours (disassembling the dash) to replace a heater core that didn't need to be replaced. Only to find out that it was this part.

    Worked for me! Thanks. Just FYI before you replace this part. Look to see if it moves prior to taking it off or buying a new one. Saves time and effort.

    You are lucky with the placement of the actuator. Try it on a mid 2000's Taurus or Sable. Remove the glove box, remove part of the console etc. etc. Fun job. Thanks for all your videos..............Jay

    YOU R THE MAN a Jeep owner LOL.. Good fix job too. I have a 1997 XJ Cherokee Sport HD 4.0 4 speed auto. I love my Jeep! Right now I have to charge my AC once a year and my defrosters don't work, but other than that everything else works. I only have 86,000 miles on it and it's cheery. Sits up on Reading Springs and double leafs in the back because I plow and tow with it, can pull 5, 800 easily as it's geared lower then the standard duty, has oil coolers on the tranny and motor. I have to get on youtube to see how to fix the defrost, but I think in my case it's not wired correctly. My center dash looks just like yours, same radio and all. Any one have cassettes , LOL?

    It seems that I have the same issue but I can see the actuator turning its blows hard cold air but barely feel warm air and it’s low even when it’s set to blow high. But this video was a good information tool. Any other ideas on my problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a Blessed Day.

    i have a 2008 4dr jeep wrangler sahara. i have had no heat on driver side for a cpl yrs. it is slowly happening on passenger side. i was first told a door that allows heat in & out had melted and that it was common with jeeps and it would cost too much to fix.
    it was -40degrees in canada today - i desperately need heat. do you think it could be fixed also?

    & can i get A/C for this type of car? My dad said this car doesn’t come with any. It’s not manufactured w A/C

    Does anyone know if it’s possible to turn it manually to get heat in the mean time until it can be fixed properly ?

    • @mikeholtz1836
      @mikeholtz1836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can be turned manually to full "hot". The door should turn easily with your fingers with that actuator removed. My problem is that door/gate is not moving easily (by hand).

    Did you ever have heat? My heat starts to get cold starting on the driver side if that makes sense. I got a lot of heater core flushes and it solves the problem for a short period of time.
