Your idea could have mitigated the Mary Sue aspect of Rey throughout the sequels. If Force Ghost Anakin bonded with Rey in The Force Awakens, it could have explained her Force powers and even knack with technology.
It goes to show that people do care for the Sequel characters, but the way they were used was terrible. Rey actually has a lot of potential to be one of the best Star Wars characters but they didn’t utilise her in the right way and they barely explored her weaknesses, not to mention her stories ending in TROS was really badly done.

@@neo-fx8qd I thought The Force Awakens was a decent start. Sure it was basically a clone of A New Hope but I kinda wanted that same feeling I had when I was ten and in the theater seeing Star Wars for the first time in 1977. The biggest mistake was totally downplaying Luke Skywalker in what was suppose to be the wrap up of the Skywalker saga. The three should have been the final adventures of Luke, Han and Leia with the help of the new characters. Then move on to a new trilogy with just the new characters. Instead, Kathleen Kennedy went and got her fingers into it and screwed it all up.

3 minutes. That's all it took. 200 seconds of fanfiction and star wars was star wars again. With tears in my eyes and Chi's down my spine I applaud you good sir. Thank you for what you've created
Nah, they need to adapt the Legends as official canon. Episode 7 just resets everything to a pre episode 4 position. Episodes 4 through 6 are now rendered meaning less thanks to the new trilogy. Nothing is accomplished 4 through 6. The sage can now actually be as follows... episode 1,2,3,7,8,9 without issue. The final part of episode 6 (luke and Anakin face Palp and anakin dying) can be explained in word crawl at the start of episode 7.
The director you're speaking of, who only did the 1st and 3rd, is none other than Jar Jar Abrams (who NEVER should've been allowed to direct ANYTHING Star Wars, including his own childhood playtime with whatever figures mommy and daddy bought for him).
@@WaterboyPhx Ryan Johnson should have also never been allowed to make a star wars movie because he didnt write TLJ as a trilogy movie. He wrote it as a stand alone movie. He is also so obsessed with "subverting expectations" that he undermine everything in episode 7 and left nothing to build upon for episode 9. He also abandoned everyones story arcs and character developments (like Luke). There was no reason for Luke to die and it was completely unemotional and out of place. The saga was always Luke's and Leia's (and Anakins), They should have never been background characters for the final trilogy.
My kids and I always pause the movie right when Palpatine starts his lightning attack in the air so we can switch over TH-cam to watch this version as part of the movie. Such a better experience, even with the interruption of switching from Disney+ to TH-cam and back again
THIS...is the ending we needed and DESERVED. Thank you so much for putting this together- it's beautiful and simply staggering in the way it concludes the entire saga in a more sensical, respectful, and faithful manner. May the Force be with you, always!
Dear God, I’m not one to get emotional about fan edits, but this would have saved the entire movie. I’m not even kidding. This was the ending that brought the entire franchise together and that I needed to see for closure. Thank you so, SO much for whatever you did to create this version. Wow.
Yeah Rey channeling the chosen ones force ghost with the other Jedi who kept their consciousness adding back up makes more sense then just hearing random voices of Jedi who didn’t learn to be force ghosts. Especially seeing Anakins face on her and his voice coming through.
The original trilogy was remastered/re edited/redone. I didn't think the original needed it, but the prequel and sequel trilogies definitively need a re edits and retouched. I cringe at lines like "I wish I could wish away these feelings" and the gungans need to use their environment as a weapon in their battle, doubt the Droids could function well in swamp terrain.
Honestly my biggest peeve with the sequels was how they completely disregarded how Anakin was the Chosen One and just shoved Rey into his role. The original ending of TROS completely destroyed the meaning behind Vader’s sacrifice. Thanks for keeping Anakin’s legacy alive!
i agree with this 100%. But I think they made Luke garbage by making him some old man who didn't want to be found again and just simply gave up on his life.
Eh I disagree. Anakins mission failed in a way either way as Palpatine came back in legends too. But Anakin did restore balance to the force and defeat the Sith when they became the most powerful. The Sith can never truly be destroyed I think. Darth Plagieus said to Palpatine once that if the Jedi found him he'd be another Exar Kun.
Qui-Gon: Gives encouraging words Obi-Wan: Support's her Force connection Luke & Leila: Reminds her that the Force is always with her Anakin: Passing his lightsaber using the Force Windu: Strengthening her grip Ahsoka: Silently holding her And Yoda: Get the job done with a single blast using the Force (just like he did during his last confrontation with Darth Sidious)
Yep same, but Qui-gon being able to show himself as a force ghost is still debated. I guess it would make sense that there'd be a force nexus on Exegol (like that time in Clone wars he appeared) Regardless loved this edit!
Its truly astounding that Disney couldnt figure this out. Even now, how hard would it be to edit something like this in to a special edition on disney plus??
@@jc135276 this is actually the correct answer. The victory in this movie was Rey's. Having all the other Jedi show up for it would have robbed her of this victory and people would forever go on and say how she didn't earn her achievements herself. Fans might not be pleased, but the canon version is completely in line with the narrative they had in mind for Rey. She's the protagonist of the ST. She's the hero. She defeats Palpatine herself.
Exactly. It's sad that their main goal and concern is how much money they can make rather than how much they could please the fans and honor this epic story. You would think they would be bright enough to know if they pleased fans they would just naturally score big bucks, but we dont live in sensible times anymore
loved how Anakin merged with Rey also Love how Luke's ghost calls out to his apprentice knowing something bad is about to happen to her, love that detail of how all the Jedi come to Rey's support and that Luke as a ghost even at the last moments of his life really comes to feel for her
@@magnificentgdc you know I always get confused & completely bewildered why Disney always gets a mention as you too had a say. IT IS JJ ABRAMS that directed rise of Skywalker so the buck stops with him.

@@benjaminvillegas6743 Not Skywalker, she's not at all familiar with the Skywalker family. Ahsoka and Rex have more reasons to be Skywalker than Rey. But this altered scene did make her worthy to be alive and continue Jedi line.
Meh? It's still an atrocious ending, with glaring plotholes, cringey dialogue, and even just the fact that Rey and Sidious(at least, the resurrection of Sidious) are characters in this movie AT ALL! Mara Jade > Rey. I'm sorry but Mara Jade is just so much cooler than Rey, and I still feel robbed, cheated, and abused for her getting deleted by disney. I mean they deleted so much content far better than what they replaced it with - Yuuzhan Vong war, actually good mandalorian lore, the Legacy of the Force storyline, obvs Mara Jade, and Luke actually having, you know, an actual life?
If they did this exact thing but with Ben Solo instead of Rey, it would’ve literally been a flawless masterpiece of a scene. The Last Skywalker standing up to face Palpatine with the voices of all the Jedi telling him to *“rise”* would have been amazing, such a missed opportunity. They had him there and literally tossed him away just to give Rey his moment.

I love the expressions of Palpatine when the lightning flickers and he sees the ghosts. He's so absurdly irritated and beyond pissed that after 40 years of his plans and deceit, the Jedi STILL stand in his way.
Looking at Qui-Gon taking a stand against Sidious is so poetic. That's the very definition of "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine".

Omg, omg, omg!! This was SO powerful I've still got chills and my eyes are watering. I can't believe how just with some simple editing (like the beats of Rey rising to her feet), it makes the entire scene so much more beautiful and dramatic. I absolutely love that you can hear all the former Jedi voices now with such clarity and then you actually see them all! And I just noticed that what she did initially was look "past" all the darkness and evil and destruction symbolized by the Force lightning coming from Sidious, past it all into space to find that place of quiet and stillness where she could connect with all the fallen Jedi in the spiritual realm. What an incredible way to end it all and you can actually see how Anakin possessed her body in that final moment before she destroys Sidious. Absolutely brilliant!
“Alone, never have you been” sounded strange but everything else was great! I’m a huge fan of Anakin, Vader and the Emperor. So I felt you certainly did them justice by literally having Anakin defeat Palpatine. It looks so much better than just Rey.
@@davidbarker2507 you do have a point but since he is the emperor and is very strong surviving somehow and hiding on a sith world is really not that hard to believe 😅😆😛
I agree. Palpy did die in ROTJ, but I loved the idea of Dark Side-infused bio-engineering bringing him back for the sequels. To me, it just made more storytelling sense to have him as the antagonist. I actually felt the return of Sidious was one of the better writing choices for the sequel films. Of course, the canon novelization then had to go and say he's just a "clone", which is a pretty bland and dumb explanation for his return if you ask me. A Dark Side resurrection would have been much cooler.
@@stevennocella5805 He can have survived again. Thats another stupidity of the ST. No mention as why he couldn't repeat his trick from ROTJ. Poe and Finn tease it even in the Novel.
Episode 9 is in desperate need for an extended cut, directors cut or some alternate cut of the movie because what’s there can definitely be turned into something great, just look at this video…and apparently there are loads of deleted scenes that could be finished and added, a great ending to the saga already exists at Lucasfilm it just needs to be finished released…
Rumor is the ghosts WERE supposed to appear, but Disney was more worried about offending the Chinese market. Apparently simply sending them the version without the ghosts while keeping it in for everyone else wasn't an option. And after Lando arrived with the armada, I was expecting the mother of all space battles, and all we got were two quick battle scenes. There had to have been more than what was filmed. And relegating Wedge to a 2-second cameo, then completely forgetting about him at the end (even though he was IN the Falcon!) - they should have had him fly in as Red Leader, leading the remaining members of Rogue Squadron into battle right behind Lando. THAT would have been much more epic!
I think they should release an extended or special edition cut of the Sequels like how Lord of the Rings did. At least an extended cut for the Rise of Skywalker as the film has potential but had an extremely dissatisfactory ending. Had this been the way Palpatine was killed I would have been a lot happier with the film and the trilogy as a whole.

There was probably thing ABRAMS could have done at the end. He could have reversed the the roles. Kylo ren/Skywalker could have been the one rising & the one to defeat the emperor. It would have made more sense that way.

This was a no brainer. There must have been a reason why this didn't take place. Hearing their voices was NOT effective enough. Did they not want to copy Endgame's finale by having all the heroes return? I actually feel bad for Abrams if they handcuffed his original ending ideas. The movie needed to be a 2 parter imho. The beloved Cariie Fisher's passing did not help things
They didn't use Colin Trevorrow's script because Carrie Fisher died. They didn't use ghosts in Jeffrey Jacob Abrams's script because of China market rules.
i guess they figured just voices would harken back to the original 77 films ending. plus maybe too 'Endgame'... but theres no denying something like this wouldve been far superior (besides theyd already gone full fan service with all kinds of stuff: the emperor, the death star 2 ruins, the han cameo, so might as well have included the force ghosts too)
Idk why they didn’t do this type of ending instead… if it’s because they didn’t want to “copy” the Avengers nobody would really complain as they’re both under Disney…
Positivity? What if you could bring the Jedi to YOUR world? This world? Possibly through Disney, for example? You see, you "fans" just don't think BIG enough.
Friggin Beautifil...When Obi Wan says "Anakin", for the sake of all the Obi-Ani Clone Wars moments, it would have been great if it would've Ewan saying "anakin now" But, still it is beautiful
I wrote a fanfic of the 3rd film for myself before the movie came out since TLJ sucked. Rey wins at the end by fighting the bad guy with the help of force ghosts. Yoda gives her wisdom telling her what to focus on, Anakin gives her real time battle advice, Obi-wan tells her to trust in herself and Luke...Luke gives her hope when she thinks she's been beaten. It's an obvious climatic choice for a universe where force-ghosts exist and you want to wrap up a 9 series saga. It's a visual and impactful way to link every story. It's cool. They didn't do it. Likely because someone didn't want Rey to have help. So instead we got Rey beating Palps with the unmatched power of not one, but TWO lightsabers....what a genius idea...pure narrative perfection. Amazing.
What YOU want, I was perfectly fine with Solo and Roque One, S7 of TCW was mostly perfect, The Bad Batch so far is all right, the sequels definenetly aren't my favourites but they also had their moments. So, yeah there are Problems with Disney Star Wars, but there have been Problems before them

I'll never understand why Disney didn't put that effort into the actual trilogy, what a HUGE difference it would have made to the reception of it, dank farrik!!
The reimagined end could be better if: - Pryde wasn't dumb as he orders the Steadfast to flip 90 degrees to knock the Resistance space horses out of the ship, leaving no explosives placed - Palpatine's godlike force lightning nearly wipes out all the Resistance fleet but the Millennium Falcon, Poe's X-Wing and the Corellian Corvette, turning the tide against the Resistance - Finn turns the First Order's Stormtroopers against the Final Order - Lando lightspeeds the Falcon against the Steadfast in desperation to stop the Star Destroyers from leaving Exegol - (Bonus) A definitive end to BB-9E
A scene like this would've single-handedly saved the entire movie. How can Marvel Studios be so good under Disney while Lucasfilm are so crap? Ah yeah, Kevin Feige. Lucasfilm need someone like him. If Kathleen Turner had been in charge of Endgame, all the revived Avengers would've cheered on the ones who faced Thanos via phone call, ffs.

Yeah, it's fascinating to me. From the different master-student relationships we got (Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan; Obi-Wan and Anakin, Obi-Wan and Luke, Yoda and Luke, Luke and Rey) the one between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan was probably the best developed one with the least amount of screen time.
Well, she had a relationship with both Skywalker siblings - Luke and Leia. She did that to honor their masters. One was hard on her and the other was softer but both guided her. The Anakin's lightsaber was the one who called her out to take the hero Journey when she picked it up and all those visions.
@@AB-sg7pl I disagree. Luke wasn’t being tough on her he just didn’t want her to be around and all Rey and Luke ever did was fight. As for Leia, Rey and Leia were friends for a few months and Leia never really called herself a Skywalker. She was always either an Organa or a Solo. Plus, Leia was the one who told Rey that ancestry doesn’t define you and not to run away from it which is exactly what Rey proceeds to do. If Leia was such a great mentor to Rey then Rey would’ve accepted the Palpatine name or at least use Solo since she had a relationship with both Han and Leia. Now that I think about it Han was more of a father figure than Luke ever was.
It only made sense for her to use the name Solo if she wanted to adopt the last name of the man who saved her and shared a very strong bond with her, similar to what Rose Dawson did in the movie Titanic. I would definitely go for the option of her adopting Ben's last name, but it would generate a lot of controversy in a relationship already full of controversy. The kiss they gave at the end of the film was already stretching boundaries for many people A mentor doesn't have to be the typical teacher who follows traditional teaching. Luke mentored Rey and even gave Rey a formal lesson and a mission that was later introduced in the extra scenes. Anyone is our mentor if they test our resilience and trigger the wisdom within us. Despite Luke's harshness, he was the one who inspired Rey on her path. Leia was actually of the Skywalker lineage despite having always used the name of her adoptive parents and would not recant the name given to her just because she found out that her real father was Anakin Skywalker. Rey adopted the name Skywalker as a tribute to her two mentors just after they passed away. Obviously, she wasn't going to use the name Palpatine, as probably neither her father nor her mother used that name since what they most wanted was distance from the Emperor.
I salute you, because for your love to the seventh art and Star Wars. Suddenly, this adding images and music makes perfect sense to the entire saga. Thanks for this loving work. I mean it. Greetings from Argentina.
Anakin saying "This is the end for you my master" in this context gave me such chills, this is incredible. George Lucas should have let you direct the sequels instead of Disney.
Man especially where they did recycle so many lines and themes from previous movies. That would've been great foreshadowing to switch the context of the Anakin line too and truly make it his rise. Like yeah, he was redeemed in ROTJ, but this would've been so impactful
This.... I got literal chills! How did i not see this until now?? amazing amazing work! Especially with the compositing! I would love to see how you would implement the later part of the scene with Ben and the force ghosts. I'm not a Reylo fan, but I would love to see if you could incorporate Anakin/other Jedi helping Ben heal Rey. Lastly, I realize that including Ahsoka into this scene would probably have been impossible because of the lack of live-action footage currently, but if you would ever do this again and include Ahsoka - that would be amazing. I'm convinced that the force would have allowed her to train to preserve her consciousness after death, especially because of the daughter's life force in her. And giving a chance for Ahsoka, Anakin and Obi-Wan to get another chance at Sidious! Something to consider, but again amazing amazing work. @@djmace9029 possibly but really it was the writing in general that needed improvement since episode 8, 7 was actually a decent start to the trilogy, but aside from ruined plot, lame choreography (by lame I mean not as good as prequels or clone wars, heck episodes 4-6 seemed better imo)
It wouldn't have lived up to their "woke" agenda. Too much toxic masculinity or some BS... had to be a girl single highhandedly

With tears in my eyes and Chi's down my spine I applaud you good sir. Thank you for what you've created
This is now my head canon. Disney, hire this guy: he’s 10 times the visionary than the director this trilogy.
@@kevinshirley9344 This right here

Wow.
My sentiments exactly!
Yeah Rey channeling the chosen ones force ghost with the other Jedi who kept their consciousness adding back up makes more sense then just hearing random voices of Jedi who didn’t learn to be force ghosts. Especially seeing Anakins face on her and his voice coming through.
@@joshkrause2977 And Anakin gets to fulfill the prophecy bringing balance to the force at last!

Totally agree, that's EXACTLY what I thought!👍😁
This just shows why this film is in desperate need of an ‘alternate cut’ or at least just give us all the deleted footage already.
Alternate tri
STAR WARS just needs to be re-done completely
The original meaning was to save his freaking child ...
@@samdickenson5852 yeah i mean if i see it Rey is his successor indirectly too tho, aside from Luke and Ahsoka

Anakin: Passing his lightsaber using the Force
Windu: Strengthening her grip
Ahsoka: Silently holding her

Mickey from Rocky IV: Get up you SOB!!

Yep same, but Qui-gon being able to show himself as a force ghost is still debated. I guess it would make sense that there'd be a force nexus on Exegol (like that time in Clone wars he appeared)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Rey with Anakin's face??? "That's why you fail"
Its truly astounding that Disney couldnt figure this out. Even now, how hard would it be to edit something like this in to a special edition on disney plus??
That means that would have to acknowledge they were wrong, something they WOULD NEVER do.
Rey doesn’t need help from all those dead stale male Jedi…. Goes against the Disney narrative
I didn't think I would ever say this, but we need someone like George Lucas editing stuff for special editions thirty years after release.
Exactly. It's sad that their main goal and concern is how much money they can make rather than how much they could please the fans and honor this epic story. You would think they would be bright enough to know if they pleased fans they would just naturally score big bucks, but we dont live in sensible times anymore
This was the ending the franchise deserved. I teared up seeing Obi-Wan acknowledge Anakin.
Outstanding job!
Watch the victory celebration in ROTJ (most recent edition) to see Obi look over at young Ani as friends again!

The reaction in theatres would’ve been Avengers: Endgame ‘Portals’ level epic
True, sad what the damn writers did to Rey, she really would've felt like a true Skywalker. I think the sequels must be altered and modified by people who actually know SW.
@@benjaminvillegas6743 Not Skywalker, she's not at all familiar with the Skywalker family. Ahsoka and Rex have more reasons to be Skywalker than Rey.

Palpatine: I am all the Sith!
Old Ben: you're my speciality!

@@jerodjordan9570 You wouldn’t be able to spot a good character if you had your eyes glued to a screen for a hundred years…if Kylo was a trash character it wouldn’t be a universal opinion across the entire fan base, from the people who hate the sequels to the people who love them that Kylo Ren was *the* best character to come out of those movies…the only character in the sequels that felt like someone George himself would have created…
Star Wars Theory for example, hates the sequels and doesn’t even consider them canon but in a recent stream he literally said word for word *”Kylo Ren is one of my favourite characters across all of Star Wars not just the movies…all of Star Wars…comics, legends, canon, games all of Star Wars, he’s in my top 5”* - and he hates the sequel trilogy with a passion…you know why he said that because he recognises that Kylo Ren is a great character, played by an actor that Martin Scorsese himself is on record praising as one of the greatest actors of his generation - Adam Driver.
I’m sorry but it’s just a fact, I don’t like the sequels as whole but I’m not going to sit here and pretend Kylo Ren as a character isn’t top tier Star Wars…I mean have you seen some of the edits on TH-cam on Kylo, they’re jaw dropping.

They should have made Rey kill palpatine with all her hate and turn to the dark side, then make Ben destroy Palpatine's spirit or something with the help of the ghosts, so at the end both Rey and Ben would have been alive and everyone would have been happy.
And here I can accept that bacouse Rey killed him with the help of the ghosts, he couldn't possess her.
Bacouse? What
Rey could kill him in the movie because he attacked her, its self defense, she isn't striking him down like he needed her too
@@SirBigHead Nope, she reflects lighting directly into him, and makes the final blast by herself.
@@SirBigHead Of what i understand you had to strike him down with anger or hatred for it. That is why Anakin/Vader didn't get possessed when he threw him down the shaft. :)

This deserves so many more views. This is incredible.

Indeed!
“Alone, never have you been” sounded strange but everything else was great!
I’m a huge fan of Anakin, Vader and the Emperor. So I felt you certainly did them justice by literally having Anakin defeat Palpatine. It looks so much better than just Rey.
Anakin defeated Palpatine in ROTJ. Killed him dead. These last three movies were just a BS money grab.
It might have sounded better as “never alone, have you been.” But it’s hard to get Yoda’s odd way of talking right.
Episode 9: The Lucas Cut
I think they should release an extended or special edition cut of the Sequels like how Lord of the Rings did. At least an extended cut for the Rise of Skywalker as the film has potential but had an extremely dissatisfactory ending. Had this been the way Palpatine was killed I would have been a lot happier with the film and the trilogy as a whole.

This was a no brainer. There must have been a reason why this didn't take place. Hearing their voices was NOT effective enough. They had already ripped off the portals ending big time
They didn't use Colin Trevorrow's script because Carrie Fisher died.

I would’ve been fine with her taking the name of Skywalker if she had actually had a long and developed relationship with Luke
The kiss they gave at the end of the film was already stretching boundaries for many people
A mentor doesn't have to be the typical teacher who follows traditional teaching.
I would have gone to the theater about a dozen times if this was what they'd done.
actually got chills watching this
1:43-1:56 This part really knows how to give me goosebumps.
This actually gave me chills. THAT was all they had to do to make it truly epic. Put the faces in there! I needed this. :D
This is the canon version in my heart
Awesome-! Thanks for a very well done remake. I am sure I'm not the only old fan, that approves, and welcomes your work. Very well done indeed.
Dang, just finding this in late 2023 and this sparked more emotion out of me than 8 & 9 combined.
Obi-Wan really needed to make sure Anakin didn't do a little bit of trolling and help Palpatine with his force lightning again
Ya know something... That didn't suck. In fact it was better than the original at got stuck with.
Big props, yo!
Lmao right !!!
@@gael7w802 Exactly. Disney made many bad decisions with regards to this franchise, but scrapping Anakin's character is quite possibly the worst one.
@@katiehelms8903 Agreed. Honestly I liked the sequels as sci-fi movies, but not as a part of Star Wars
@@gael7w802 I know, right? They're good movies, just not good STAR WARS movies.
@@katiehelms8903 the last Jedi though is a horrible movie
Now that is true"Star Wars" writing! Absolutely the BEST ending, as it should have been written.
Thank you for giving us such a beautiful piece of content to watch over and over again.
2:56 I would have lol if he said "This is where the fun begins" 🤣
This is almost perfect! I would not have had the past characters do another but be shadows but LOVED the music and LOVED that you could hear the Masters talk!
Obi wan should have said "Anakin, YOU have the high ground!"
That would've been kriffing awesome...and poetic!
good job man! I really like your version, congratulations friend! you master the after effects !!
Ho, thanks you so much my friend! I really appreciate that you like my video, together we brought balance to the force....
Looks amazing, very nice editing skills👍
"This is the end for you my master" gives me chills! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Only just saw this, absolutely brilliant. If this had been the ending we were given the film would have been considered a classic instead of a failure. Superb. Well done!
Holy crap man, this is incredible.
Oh where has this been? That was so good it's going on the big screen when I get home. Agreed that's my new ending that brings everything and everyone together. I'm going to watch it again. Very very well done, BRAVO!
I have seen many, many edits of this. But THIS one is by far the best, good job man!
When TH-cam fan edits are better than what Disney & Hollywood directors brought us.
