- Hey guys!
Our first ever Star Wars edit and our first-ever Rey edit! This project has been in the works since December literally hours after we watched the Rise of Skywalker. Going, to be honest, I never paid all that much attention to The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi, they didn’t spur anything in me to make a video but for some reason this movie did! I knew we had to do it! Better late than never right?
This project was extremely temperamental! It took about 4 renders with each one taking an hour or so, but it's FINALLY done!
Thank you for all of your support and your patience with us over the last few weeks I guess the Corona Virus will kind of give us an excuse to stay home and do some more editing than usual so I guess that’s the silver lining around COVID 19.

Absolutely adore, and I mean adore this Rey edit! This blasts mine straight out the water. The amount of emotion you built across the edit is remarkable, astonishing. The dialogue is use to perfection, even though I feel like you used every piece of Rey dialogue in the sequels because of the length of the edit XD. You displayed Rey's story throughout the edit very accurately, you showed her progression across all three of the sequel films. I love that you displayed a variety of emotions, sadness, anger, hatred and much more. If there was one edit to sum up Rey, this would be the one! This is the gold bar! You can't get better than this honestly, I'm being serious! Now lets get on with the technical stuff XD, the transitions are very well done and smooth. The dialogue is perfection, they are very audible. I feel like some had some background noise but to be honest I don't care because the rest of the aspects of the edit are outstanding! This edit is 9 mintutes long so I am guessing you used 2/3 different songs, and I didn't realise, so good work with mixing the music, it works perfectly and is effective. Have I wrote enough XD. I really can't wait for your Kylo edit, I know that will blow my one out of the water as well like this Rey edit did with mine. I hope you make the Kylo Ren one similar to this one where you show a variety of emotions, but try and make it darker than the Rey edit . That's all I can say to be honest, no idea if this is gonna send XD. Overall great work (great is an understatement), keep up the work! I really want to see more Star Wars edits form you! Hi Ryan, first off thank you so much for your wonderful longass comment that beings a smile to our faces, these kind of comments are always the best to read! ♥️ Love making emotional stuff, got to be able to tell the stories and try to do them as much justice as possible in a small amount of time, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it and think we pulled it off to a good standard, especially as we've never edited Star Wars before.
Yeah the sound in the background of some of the dialogue kills me inside, every time I'm not sure if it's because originally it was 7.1 channels but was converted into 5.1? Or whether it does just have the sound in the back? I shall have to investigate. 😂
Song wise, it's just one song looped in certain areas to make it longer. Always pretty happy with the way we cut and manipulate songs.
Hopefully the Kylo edit will go well, it will definitely be darker than this Rey edit for sure so no worries on that front.

This is very touching. I don't think Daisy Ridlley received enough credit for what a wonderful actor she is and how well she portrayed Rey.

And bam! she earned the lead role in Star wars of all things. The very fact that she held on her own amidst legends like Carrie ,Mark , Harrison , Lupita ,Oscar and Adam is a testament to her acting ability.

@@orionaugustwatson I agree with you. Which is ironic for me because I don't like the sequel trilogy. But that is because I don't think it fits into the story of Star Wars, which in my opinion is the story of Anakin Skywalker. I ultimately don't like the trilogy because of the story, however I do admire the acting. Actors act the part they are given. And although I don't like the writing of the parts they were given, I still think that they played that part very well. Hopefully that makes some sense. I guess you could word it as I think that Daisy Ridley did a great job playing Rey, but I just don't like Rey.

I wish that everyone who hates Rey watched this video. She is such a tragic character like all of us, she's just looking for a place in this world and wanting to be loved, to have a family.

There are so many amazing characters, I'm sure you'll find another. Mine was Buffy, you can always look back in fondness of her character, they're never really gone.

Holy crap! This captivated me, I couldn’t look away and when it ended I was honestly so sad it was over. You were able to capture all the best moments of Rey’s story from 7-9, and with the voiceovers made it that much more powerful. When I watched the movie I was floored but I think you just topped it.

When i saw 9 minutes i was like "oh that long !" but it wasn't too long. To be honest, it didn't felt long at all.

@Ninja StrongHeart Rey chose the name "Skywalker, to reflect her chosen family. For the entire trilogy, she has had no family name, no sense of belonging. By choosing "Skywalker" as her name, she is rejecting her Palpatine lineage and instead identifying with her two mentors, Luke and Leia.

It would’ve been a great message; you don’t have to be anyone special to make your own journey and destiny, to find your purpose. You choose what you become, doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. I do understand her choosing the Skywalker name, though but I feel like it kind of goes against what Star Wars stands for and their message.
@@kirafaith8581 Honestly, she could’ve been an actual Skywalker. There were lots of similarities and relations with Luke and Rey’s life. She could’ve also been just a nobody and it’s a great message. The fact is, she is so powerful because she is a Palpatine. Don’t think they had a plan going since the beginning anyway. Palpatine’s music was there all along in TFW + during Snoke’s scenes.. As we grew into TROS, we noticed Rey had gotten Angry, and stronger.

Finally. A video that doesn't just hate on Rey for being a supposed "Mary Sue".
Anyone who knows what a true 'Mary Sue' is, wouldn't apply the term to Rey in the first place. Luke and Anakin can fall under the guise of 'Gary Stew' by their logic but they're obviously not ready to talk about that.
Star Wars it's all about the personal challenge of being confronted with right and wrong and stepping up to it if needed
I hate what they have done to her she is a good character, bit they have no idea how to do with her and failed to be true. She could choose another last name and broke the chains but no, she chose Skywalker, she could names as a Palpatine... But whatever she is alone as in the beginning and it's sucks.

This was amazing Disney did Rey dirty and not a they’ll fan but I loved this edit just like Clarke/Lexa/Katniss edit the music was amazing at an epic level.
If Rey was something like a daughter of Vader and step sister of Leia and Luke it would’ve been way better in that series while I loved the whole Rey Palpatine and how powerful she was makes sense they never explored that or said WHO HER PARENTS WERE?!!
But Disney ruined Anakins legacy and Vader’s so if she was the reincarnation or daughter of Vader it would have been amazing good job hope to see more soon.

No matter how much Rey WANTS to be a Skywalker or tries to IDENTIFY as a Skywalker SHE IS A PALPETINE! Rey PALPATINE.

Shawn Sanders That was Leia that said actually and in the Rise of Skywalker novel when Rey is asked who she is and turns to the force ghosts of Luke and Leia, Luke says “Take it.” And Leia nods, meaning that they gave their blessing to use the name Skywalker. They are the family she chose and they also chose her to continue the name. I see no issue with that. Palpatine was never any kind of mentor to her and she didn’t know her parents. Luke and Leia were her mentors and her chosen family. Therefore it makes far more sense to take the Skywalker mantle.

Her calling herself a Skywalker when the Skywalker Legacy and bloodline are now dead was one of the worse parts of the movie and considering the movie was ABSOLUTE GARBAGE that is pretty bad. You actually consider what's going on here is that she's spinning a yarn... that's not her surname, not in the least... but she is kind of fighting against her ancestor in terms of his establishment culture.
The turn I enjoyed was apparently influenced by G. Lucas's input, regarding bringing Palpatine back- just as the novels said years ago.
So at the end of Rise of Skywalker when Leia and Luke nod to say it's ok for her to claim the name, that she's not a Skywalker. Along with Ben's life force running through her.
Didn't realise you had to be BLOOD related to become part of someone's family. Luke and Leia being her Jedi master's they were the closest she got to family along with Finn and Poe.
By your logic Kara isn't actually a Danvers even though that's her family now.
