Really puts that comment from the Nintendo representative (from the previous Rayman 4 video) into perspective. Which.... in a weird way, made Raving Rabbids more popular as a party game than a platformer. Even though having a 3d platformer is the best decision for the fans, everything gathered here from the prototype combined with the original release date having to be for the holidays, the game probably wouldn't have sold much as a platformer.

@@dynamon911nz So, I'm out of the loop and I've seen the King Kong game referenced a couple times when looking into Rayman. Could you by chance fill me in on the story to that? I'm totally unfamiliar
@@JuiceboxCEBasically, the King Kong game was a movie tie-in game that was released by Ubisoft around the time of Rayman 4’s development. It’s believed that some of the assets seen in earlier footage of Rayman 4 and in the prototype were probably taken from that King Kong game, which could also explain why some of the assets don’t seem to match the general aesthetic of the Rayman games (like the super realistic models for the ride animals). Even the final version of Raving Rabbids reuses an animation from the King Kong game.
I really hope that with this leak now out there that Ubisoft is seeing all of this and realizes finally that THIS is what we want to see in the future for the franchise. A new 3D Rayman game with a massive world to explore
It's so cool to see a peak into the development of this game, considering what we got instead, this would have been pretty awesome! What!??!! The Ruler being "lost media" that's nutty, but really cool that you have it.
TCRF is gonna have a field day with this one. Considering we also have the source for this thing, I'm sure we could actually piece together a rough approximation of what the game could have been had it continued on this path. The fact that we even have something like this that was considered lost media is absolutely astounding! Who else knows what things could be dug up. Imagine if we find the show floor copy of Super Mario Sunshine, which honestly doesn't seem too far fetched considering what we're currently looking at...sorry I was geeking out, great video and I hope to see any updates on this.
2:05 The yellow circle around roméo (the teensy you pick up) is a timer, subtitles *seem* to point to it being a special time trial (but i could be wrong however, my french is freshly being learned bit by bit), it even spawns in the rabbids and everything. this is the closest thing to a quest we can get!
What do the subtitles say? Also if your curious I defeated all the rabbids within the time limit and nothing happened so I’m curious if it straight up doesn’t work or if I’m supposed to do something else
@@FulsomeFrog Something i tried was obtaining one of the odd purple guys (you can usually get them from large rabbids) and the timer seemed to not restart the level, needs more investigation. the subtitles mostly seem to be coming from roméo and most of the things he says before you pick him up are along the lines of Hey! Rayman! Over here! (If i were nearby my pc right now i would try to give more accurate depictions)
I always loved the strange horror/sci-fi aspects of the rabbids in the original Rayman raving rabbids game. It’s so cool to see just how far they were gonna go with making the rabbids an actual antagonistic force. My favorite thing being the giant mechanic rabbid stomping around and how menacing it would have been
Just like your R4 documentary I'm here to say this video was absolutely amazing! to think apart of our speculations are finally a reality c: but a little bit of a different reality to what we where speculating but still so so awesome nonetheless! The Rayman modding community are doing an absolutely stellar job unpacking all of this prototype! big thank you so much to them c:
This leak is so exciting! I used to be very obsessed over this prototype, wanting to know more about it, despite the lack of information. Objectives in both open areas and linear levels, mounts, the kung fu combat, the dancing ability, giant mechs and the rabbids with their old design. All telling the story about the most ambitios Rayman game, that never released. The old rabbid designs were both creepy and cute. My favorite is the TooBlue one. I really like what the devs were going for with the environments. The giant forest from the trailer looks especially beautiful. And the skybox in the 10:35 map is epic as hell. The combat seems similar to The Legend of Spyro games, where you’d be fighting large enemy groups , altering between basic melee attacks and stronger wide ranged mana attacks. Rayman’s groundpound seemed to have the same purpose as Spyro’s elemental breaths, to make fighting against these big groups temporarily easier, when having gained enough mana. I recently replayed the Tlos games and the footage of Rayman beating the rabbids definitely reminds me of the way Spyro takes care of the apes and Malefor’s minions. Despite these amazing discoveries, I don’t expect there to be much more information on the story, but I’d love to be proven wrong on that. It would be really awesome if we found out Michel Ancel himself was responsible for the leak, secretly putting it out there for his fans in his spare time in the animal sanctuary he’s currently working in.
@@dynamon911nz Do you mean that footage with Jade parkouring around the city and jumping to a helicopter at the end? I remember interviews from those times, claiming that back then Ubisoft wasn't supportive of BG&E2:s development. So perhaps Ancel thought he would have to leave the project behind and wanted to show the world a taste of what this dying project had been like. Of course Ubisoft later allowed the game's development to continue, leading to it becoming this gigantic space MMO, that had little to do with the pre 2010 builds.
@@sanctherion4468 wich shame that 2008 was really promising. i remember so lot like other been hyped that they implementing parkur elements into the sequel where the this wasnt possible in ps2.
I'm sure a bunch were expecting Sphincter Cell to be some reference to Splinter Cell. This is about the time Splinter Cell went down the route of fourth wall breaks with Chaos Theory, featuring product placements and a guard talking about how hyped he is about the upcoming Prince of Persia. Also some slightly fixed translations: RIV_Exterieur_ville, being a city exterior, perhaps a tiny hub where the letters would teleport you to various areas Lapins_NO_IA, Bunny_NO_AI, pretty self explanatory.
2022 has been an insane year to be a rayman fan, and im happy for it honestly. the sphincter cell level really reminded me of the rayman 4 concept art for a level called the 'organic cavern', which is probably what that concept art is for. it's VERY cool that parts from the trailer and concepts are actually playable now. i never thought we'd see anything like this. ubisoft may not care for rayman anymore, but the fans clearly do, and i think that matters just as much.
The GBA version actually has Rayman fighting rabbids. The reason why they're invading was because they were tired of being at the bottom of the food chain, althought they're still extremely stupid.
GBA version was definitely a version/port of this cancelled game and most likely shares main points of the story (even though it might not be considered cannon anymore). Rabbids were always stupid by design, "cretins" is literally in their name (The Lapins Cretins), which is something lost in translation (with a few exceptions, they're still called cretins in the DS version of the game, but it's most likely due to poor translation of the game).
I prefer the Rabbids' backstory in the scrapped Rayman 4 where they were a hyper intelligent species that were often antagonized for their goofy appearance as opposed to what we actually got
Interesting, when I was messing around with the prototype the giant bipedal robot did actually shoot a laser at Rayman. It could go through walls and homed in on Raymans position, it was really annoying trying to avoid it. Also if you get too close to the big dome on the same map without using noclip the flying Rabbid mech will will try and crush you.
As someone who likes the released version of Rayman Raving Rabbids but seeing the Rayman 4 Prototype looks so cool and I can't wait to see more stuff from it.
9:42 For Test D, I cross referenced the three creatures featured in this map (the triceratops, the centipede, and the " Hypogriffe") and they're actually another part of the reused assets from the King Kong game Ubisoft made. The bat-like abomination you referenced was actually the same creature that kidnapped King Kong's love interest from the game, and its proper name is Terapusmordax. The triceratops creature is another one of those hyper-evolved creatures unique to Skull Island and it goes by the name Ferrucutus Cerastes. Lastly, the centipede is known as Megapede Dereponecis. My assumption is that these creatures were never planned to be the ones that Rayman would ride in the final product, especially since the bat-like creature has crudely implemented animations that appear to be directly copied over from the eagle/hawk's animations with little adjustments.
I grew up with the Rabbids, but I've always been fascinated with this mystery. Rayman 4 or The Original Rayman Raving Rabbids is probably one of gaming's biggest mysteries, perhaps. How come a game like that just gets canceled outta nowhere and never gets spoken of officially again? Why dramatically change a game's genre from a beat em up adventure to... a party game? Was it too ambitious? Why leave that giant lore of the Rabbids in the dark? Sadly I don't think we will ever get a clear answer, or anything else about this game, like an actual modern release/remake due to Ubisoft being... Well, Ubisoft. Hopefully a full, free fan recreation of Rayman 4 can come out of this situation, giving us some sort of relief, if Ubisoft has no problems with it (which they probably would those bastards)
Seeing this stuff is super interesting! I grew up with Rayman 2 and 3 (but was thankfully spared the suffering that is Rayman 1), and I remember seeing the teasers for Rayman 4 way back when I was young. Really didn't like the Rabbids overshadowing and almost killing the franchise, so it's cool to see some of what could have been. Also, Happy New Year!
It's a truly pearl what has been revealed to us about the initial prototype of Rayman 4, how many special features and the mere fact that we won't get a chance to try them in a full game sucks. I was also wandering how and if it's possible to download these materials to test those features and levels.
We somehow managed to land in the timeline where we actually got to play the prototypes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Duke Nukem Forever, and Rayman 4. Amazing.
Each video about the *REAL* Rayman Raving Rabbids (aka Rayman4) we should have gotten both hurts and gives me hope for the future. I always knew Raving Rabbids was supposed to be way more than what we got back in the day, because you don't put THAT much effort into a simple party game!
Dang! Rayman 4 (as it was originally called) could have been such a good game! I never understood why they went to make Rayman Raving Rabbids a mini game collection, and this video makes me understand even less! Man, what could have been. Still waiting Murphy, still waiting...
Thanks for making this video. I had some real issue following all of the discoveries being made on the leak with how hectic it was going. It's really cool
This is so freaking cool, I feel like this is a dream, back then on 2009 when I played RRR I was so disapointed that after all the minigames there wasn't anything left to do in the game, I was waiting the real aventure to go on, and now seeing this is just amazing, really makes me think on how life is really unpredictable hahaha. Do you think that is there any chance fans will be able to recreate full Rayman 4? Not to restore all files but create a fan Game with the same engine
I remember when I played Raving Rabbids as a kid I thought the prison stuff and the minigames were just the 'intro' to the real game. I slogged through the minigames genuinely believing that once I had enough plungers for Rayman to climb out the window the real game would begin. Imagine my disappointment...
It's so awesome to finally see what secrets the Prototype holds, i've also been looking into it myself to see how it feels to play, also if you fly to the bunny mecha with the bird it will take to skys to fight you (It's akin to a on rails Starfox 64 fight) Also if you unplug the Controller while playing the game Rayman will be launched into the void (people also found a character called "fée")
I want to mention in the first map (the "open world" one), there is another rabbid base you can explore! It's on top of the giant tree. It's really interesting because it got a whole sewer system with animated water leaking out of the pipes! Only downside is that It's very unfinished. There seemingly no way to get out beside noclipping back up to the entrance. Also I want to make mention that there is a shark you can ride in that one map you explored, with the ships patrolling underwater. You have to go to the start of the water path.
Oh ALMOST FORGOT If you turn on the subtitles in the pause menu, there are actual lines that "play" (as in only the text appear) when you explore the boat
This it's my dream come true. I really loved the original trailer of this game and remember being pretty disappointed with raving rabbids, wishing to see this more "darker" game. Im so happy right now
I think it’s crazy when it leaked in the first place. Rayman has been seemingly been getting a lot of content recently, from the fandom and official side lately.
Seems like the dinosaur (Ferrucutus), the "disgusting abomination"/hippogriff (Terapusmordax), & maybe the spider & centipede are also reused assets from Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie & are most likely placeholders.
It's frustrating knowing that the true rayman 4 was cut so early in development. Saying that I doubt that some of these mechanics and features would have made it to the final game anyway, feature creep is dangerous and I can see the dancing being cut completely.
This early version looks so cool, insanely ambitious too though, would've probably needed to stay in development until late-2007 at-least. I get why the final game was consolidated into a minigame collection but it's still a shame.
With this we have the building blocks to create the Rayman 4 fans have always wanted! Michel Ancel's Dream and Vision for Rayman can finally be realized!
Thanks for making this video! I couldn't keep track of all the updates since Discord exploded because of this leak 😆 I'm now waiting for part 2, all the discoveries shown in this video were made in less than a week, this is just the tip of the iceberg!
It looks like they took some of the models for the ridable creatures are placeholders from the King Kong Movie Game for the centipede and the 'Abomination', which looks like a pterodactyl; that got messed up
I remember seeing the trailer years ago and I was hyped. Like, Rayman 3 was a game I played constantly. Though when I finally got Raving Rabbids... to say I was disapointed was putting it mildly. _Very_ mildly.
I haven't been this excited for a cancelled game since Rare's Project Dream reveal. It always feels like finding a hidden room in your childhood home. It was always there and you may have known about it for years. But once you find it and see it for yourself, you get shivers of unfathomable joy and want to explore every corner of it. These days I need every bit of joy I can get and your video made me incredibly happy, so thank you for putting this together. Have a happy new year!
First Duke Nukem 2001 and now this. I already love the Rayman Revenge Of The Dark fan project. Imagine if they could remake it and use these controls and give it some polish.
I find it interesting how that nude Rayman "outfit" was seemingly reused in Rayman Legends as an unlockable hero. (I think he was called Raymox in that one?) Who knows though. It could just as easily be a coincidence. I mean, there's only so many ways you can draw Rayman naked with only a leaf covering his junk
If you go to the top of the mushroom-tree-thing on the first world, there's quite a bit of accessible gameplay through an entrance at the top. If you use too much no-clip to get there it won't load though
Awesome compilation! Certainly a look to something that, unfortunately never will be. Since the rabbids IP is more established now, I don't think they could go back to the gritty aesthetic they had in mind, even if they wanted to. So it was going to be some sort of open world hack and slash? That would've been awesome if that's the case, it would present more how the rabbids were a menace to the world and seeing the mechs going about would've been breath taking. I'm not sure how far the project will go besides being a compilation, but I would love to see a completed version of the original plan. Or an actual Rayman 4 from ubisoft, anything Rayman would be nice (besides the cameo on that new game).
9:45 Oh wow. Alot of King kong stuff here like the centipede and the bat. That Ceratopsian looks like the one from the King Kong art book. Maybe it was originally going to be in king kong just to be cut.
When i Saw the leaks, I couldn't help but think about what you said at the end of your documentary, how what you had pinpointed was the most we'd ever get to know about the original RRR... *unless a build was to be leaked* Well I Guess miracles happen. Now we Can only Hope Ubisoft will use that as the basis for Rayman 4 if they decide to go trough with that vaporwave game 😒
Btw I have an idea for what those grey horned monsters you're wondering about actually are See the forest at 3:40 ? In the unlockable artwork pack #2 for the Party game, you Can actually see a concept art that looks identical. There are others artworks of places you never see in the final game or in the 2005 screenshots like a forest in the middle of a desert, a gloomy scrapeyard Island thing... Basically confirms my idea that some stuff in the artworks is probably showing places from the prototype. One of those places is a graveyard (which IS used in the final game and also the place where you meet those monsters), and the artworks for said graveyard have writtings that mentions "Diables" and "campements de diables" which is french for devils and devils' camp respectively. My guess is that these devils were part of the fauna planned for the graveyard area of the prototype
@@FrameRater As a French Person myself, when i Saw them for the first Time, kid me tought they were living gargoyles, the stone statues of creatures that Can be seen on the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris for exemple. It's typical French Christian Culture stuff so i Can totally see Michel taking inspiration from there, and based on the artwork pack #3, it seems like a Cathedral was considered for the game at one point so it would make sense
Im still looking for footage from the cereal box raving rabbids game, Before the game came out, there were “specially marked boxes” of cereal that had a demo/protype thing for PC. There was a minigame where you spin your mouse and release click to throw a rabbid as far as you could. It was super weird, and definitely shared the same flavour as prototype
@@FrameRater no, its rabbids 1 prototype material. The landscapes are soooo similar! I feel like, in terms of development, those demos are what come after these prototypes. The landscapes still have that dark gloomy feeling, but the lighting system was more closer to the final game. Its the 1 thing thats smack dab in the middle of all of this. Its probably nowhere near as crackable as the prototype build is, But what IS there, carries the same prototype flavour. Throwing a rabbid as hard as you can at a target thats pasted up onto a cliff thats shaped that same as that boss fight rabbid robot thing that scared the crap out of you. If and when i find this disc, Im going to send it in. You have to play it, put it on display, and make the world know what strange items lurk in my memories.
@@Rib_ i pulled a disc with this on it out of a box of cheerios when i was 11, and only ever got to play the rabbid toss part, as my friends and i had our souls consumed with smash bros melee again not long after, so we never came back to it, I curse that kids mom for booting us off the computer that day!
As someone who has played an insane amount of both BG&E and King Kong... It's pretty surreal seeing all the asset reuse here. Understandable, not dissing it at all, haha. Still in development and working with the same engine. It's just really funny.
Honestly the thing that makes me worried about this build is how weird its art direction is. Its all very cool and awesome, but it definitely does not feel like Rayman. Nevertheless, an amazing discovery.
I think most of the art direction is re-used assets from the King Kong game Ubisoft developed around the same time (correct me if I'm wrong tho) I believe this version of Rayman 4 was developed for about ~3 months before it changed to a party game, so I think most of it is re-used assets for the sake of a placeholder.
I hope all this recent attention will push Ubi into finally giving us the followup that Rayman deserves. I would LOVE to see something with the style of Rayman 2 & 3 with the scope of something like Mario Odyssey
This is both incredible and depressing at the same time. Incredible to finally have some Rayman content to admire and browse through, but depressing to see what could have been and sadly got turned into a boring party game.
A thought that came up over and over for me throughout the video is how similar this feels to Sonic Frontiers. Big open spaces, clashing art styles, main character who feels like they don’t fit, huge mech bosses, ideas thrown everywhere that don’t fully gel, main character moving things around with a strange mechanism, and a mad rush at the end to get something, anything out the door before the publisher cancels the whole thing (Rabbids was more different than R4 than Rangers leaks were from Frontiers, though).
This is great news! I was so disappointed when Rayman 4 changed from 3D platformer to minigame collection, so seeing this prototype is a dream come true
There's a possibly unused Michael Jackson costume, some of the files and models hint to a wig named "Pop", when put in a model viewer, the wig resembles Michael Jackson's hairstyle in the Thriller music video.
Nothing unusual, most prototypes are completely different than the final game, its a natural progression within game development as ideas get thrown around, think of Resident Evil 4, Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros. etc.
Man this is soo cool seeing this, Murphy in Rayman 3 see you in Rayman 4, Ubisoft this is the Rayman 4 you need to make. This would of been such a cool game especially with those giant Rabbit bosses.
Don't know if someone already told it in the comments but I find out that you can activate subtitles in the parameters and sometimes Rayman will says something (especially with Romeo when you grab him)
That's pretty cool, but I played mostly its sequel, that 12-minigame one (or was it 16?) released on PC back in the day because I didn't had a Wii back then, I know it's irrelevant nowadays but the Wii files are somewhat compatible with the PC version of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, but controls don't work as they should and the game is almost unplayable, as it don't load sound effects at all. Of course, nowadays we have emulators, but back in 2012 I remember tinkering with the files and being able to play some of the minigames for the Wii version on the PC executable, using the extracted Wii files. Great video, by the way!
Sphincter Cell took me back to the worst of children's media in the 2000s when I was a kid. What was with the obsession of going inside another living creatures body? I always found it gross and creepy.

This has a pretty creepy vibe and atmosphere actually, especially with the realistic bugs and those HIDEOUS rabbid models
No, they look GREAT
Agreed. Reminds me of Rayman 2, but grittier
@@rachelfay9582 or shadow the hedgehog but less edger but still have a darker style
Like Rabbids were supposed to be anti-mascots or fugly cute like Peng Pengs.
I believe the “abomination” is a bat from King Kong with an improperly rigged skeleton
That’s also probably where the centipede is from
TCRF is gonna have a field day with this one. Considering we also have the source for this thing, I'm sure we could actually piece together a rough approximation of what the game could have been had it continued on this path. The fact that we even have something like this that was considered lost media is absolutely astounding! Who else knows what things could be dug up. I honestly want to see a few more e3 demos/prototypes get found, especially from older games. Imagine if we find the show floor copy of Super Mario Sunshine, which honestly doesn't seem too far fetched considering what we're currently looking at...sorry I was geeking out, great video and I hope to see any updates on this.

The yellow circle around roméo (the teensy you pick up) is a timer, subtitles *seem* to point to it being a special time trial (but i could be wrong however, my french is freshly being learned bit by bit), it even spawns in the rabbids and everything. this is the closest thing to a quest we can get!
Rayman: *Just casually walking across a field*
Rabbids: *Dashing towards him at demonic speeds*
It would be really awesome if we found out Michel Ancel himself was responsible for the leak, secretly putting it out there for his fans in his spare time in the animal sanctuary he’s currently working in.
kinda belive Michel himself would leak the 2008 prototype of B&G 2 that was shown in xbox 360. with probaly gameplay.

Also some slightly fixed translations:
RIV_Exterieur_ville, being a city exterior, perhaps a tiny hub where the letters would teleport you to various areas
Lapins_NO_IA, Bunny_NO_AI, pretty self explanatory.
Yep actually there are Rabbids police-man in The GBA.
For what? Maybe a Joke of Ubisoft putting some guards in cells.
As someone who likes the released version of Rayman Raving Rabbids but seeing the Rayman 4 Prototype looks so cool and I can't wait to see more stuff from it.
that weird bipod rabbid mech thing in test_fpp actually does fire and has killed me numerous times
9:42
For Test D, I cross referenced the three creatures featured in this map (the triceratops, the centipede, and the " Hypogriffe") and they're actually another part of the reused assets from the King Kong game Ubisoft made.
7:44 literally me running to my brother when he talks shit abt me
Seeing this stuff is super interesting!
I cant wait for this prototype to get restored to what it was seen in the screenshots and trailer
I find amazing how the naked Rayman actually made an appearance almost a decade later Rayman Legends.. funny how they recycled such an odd thing xD
Still waiting Murphy, still waiting...
this is so insane to me, 2022 in general has been a great year for lost games like the 2001 duke nukem forever build and this
Thanks for making this video. I had some real issue following all of the discoveries being made on the leak with how hectic it was going. It's really cool
Been waiting for this for a WHILE! I'm so happy it's finally here
Can't wait for Part 2 when eventually more stuff is discovered.
There's talk of it yes, probably something fan inspired at some point but I don't expect a full restoration. Could happen though?
Oh no way! I'll check that out right now!
Oh ALMOST FORGOT
If you turn on the subtitles in the pause menu, there are actual lines that "play" (as in only the text appear) when you explore the boat
This is the Rayman equivalent to the 2020 Gigaleak for Super Mario 64.
As someone who was raised on the first Rayman Raving Rabbids game, this is seriously neat. Hope more info gets discovered.
It's frustrating knowing that the true rayman 4 was cut so early in development. Saying that I doubt that some of these mechanics and features would have made it to the final game anyway, feature creep is dangerous and I can see the dancing being cut completely.
"The first time you take a hit, Rayman loses his clothes for some reason."
Clearly the predecessor of the Senran Kagura franchise.
fun fact, Rocco Siffredi is probably referencing Rocco Siffredi, who is a... porn actor who kinda became a joke in the 2000s in France
This early version looks so cool, insanely ambitious too though, would've probably needed to stay in development until late-2007 at-least. I get why the final game was consolidated into a minigame collection but it's still a shame.
4:40 I played that version on GBA Rayman Raving Rabbids.
With this we have the building blocks to create the Rayman 4 fans have always wanted! Michel Ancel's Dream and Vision for Rayman can finally be realized!
Thanks for making this video! I couldn't keep track of all the updates since Discord exploded because of this leak 😆
I'm now waiting for part 2, all the discoveries shown in this video were made in less than a week, this is just the tip of the iceberg!
The rideable animals would have actually been so cool 😢
It looks like they took some of the models for the ridable creatures are placeholders from the King Kong Movie Game for the centipede and the 'Abomination', which looks like a pterodactyl; that got messed up
I'm pretty sure the beans are Rabbid droppings.
I really love the Rayman 4 prototype, and the final version of the game.
12:48-I like that cutscene with Pink.👍
9:45
Oh wow.
Btw I have an idea for what those grey horned monsters you're wondering about actually are
See the forest at 3:40 ?
Cool if so! I wonder what inspired their design.
Im still looking for footage from the cereal box raving rabbids game,
Before the game came out, there were “specially marked boxes” of cereal that had a demo/protype thing for PC.
There was a minigame where you spin your mouse and release click to throw a rabbid as far as you could.
It was super weird, and definitely shared the same flavour as prototype
There was a Rabbids 2 version for PC, is that what you meant? I'm not aware of this early demo.
Its probably nowhere near as crackable as the prototype build is,
But what IS there, carries the same prototype flavour.
Throwing a rabbid as hard as you can at a target thats pasted up onto a cliff thats shaped that same as that boss fight rabbid robot thing that scared the crap out of you.
If and when i find this disc,
Im going to send it in.
You have to play it, put it on display, and make the world know what strange items lurk in my memories.

This would've been such a weird Rayman game even for Rayman standards it's quite interesting to see
"The claw is our master" could be a reverence to the movie Toy Story.
Thanks for covering this Frame! It wouldn't surprise me one tiny bit if this Rayman 4 prototype was scrapped as soon as Wii devkits got to UBISOFT HQ.
As someone who has played an insane amount of both BG&E and King Kong... It's pretty surreal seeing all the asset reuse here.
Understandable, not dissing it at all, haha. Still in development and working with the same engine. It's just really funny.
I can tell this would've been one of my favorite wii games as a kid
After I saw some clips of this online, I knew you we're gonna talk about this considering your three-year-old video on the discussion of the build.
I'm convinced this would have been one of my favourite video games ever if it existed.
The "Abomination" and the Centipede are both from the King Kong game if I remember correctly.
This is such a satisfying sequel to the Rabbids 4 video you made last year! Glad I just watched it, great work dude
Barefoot rayman is extremely cursed
This is both incredible and depressing at the same time. Incredible to finally have some Rayman content to admire and browse through, but depressing to see what could have been and sadly got turned into a boring party game.
This is really cool. I remember playing Rayman Kart a lot and seeing that giant Rabbid Robot in a level.
Love this, feels like my childhood questions have been answered
I just love your funny way of explaining the maps, and then random meme. xD
Mae Da Goof played Undefeatable on their footage of the playable battle scene from the trailer.
this is absolutely full of king kong 2005 models for some reason, like the "triceratops" is the ferrucutus from that game
This is great news! I was so disappointed when Rayman 4 changed from 3D platformer to minigame collection, so seeing this prototype is a dream come true
Another great video as always, Frame!
There's a possibly unused Michael Jackson costume, some of the files and models hint to a wig named "Pop", when put in a model viewer, the wig resembles Michael Jackson's hairstyle in the Thriller music video.
Nothing unusual, most prototypes are completely different than the final game, its a natural progression within game development as ideas get thrown around, think of Resident Evil 4, Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros. etc.
Few completely change genre
You say that as if the final game didn’t become a completely different game
You don't understand anything
You dont understand
You don't
Actually, the "hippogriffe" reuse the same model as the giant bats from King Kong
I guess this prototype was compiled a few days before the focus of the game changed completely to a party game
Man this is soo cool seeing this, Murphy in Rayman 3 see you in Rayman 4, Ubisoft this is the Rayman 4 you need to make.
This would of been such a cool game especially with those giant Rabbit bosses.
Amazing video
Thank you so much! Happy New Year. =)
4:36 why can't i stop laughing at this phallic shaped decoration
Don't know if someone already told it in the comments but I find out that you can activate subtitles in the parameters and sometimes Rayman will says something (especially with Romeo when you grab him)
the more that is discovered of the prototype makes me feel like we were robbed another good video framerater
I wonder if the name Sphincter Cell is meant to be a play on Splinter Cell. Makes sense to me since they're both Ubisoft games.
