I'm reading it over now. Rayman states that he is on vacation so suggests "JJ" do it instead. I'm a bit rusty but this "JJ" character was supposed to be Rayman's girlfriend or something, right? I guess there was a reason for that one weird Rayman-on-vacation promo video where he gets a call from Ubisoft about Rayman 4! Seems the story was otherwise basically a rehash of Rayman 2. Yeesh, they really won't let that one go will they? Oh well, I'm thinking this isn't too reflective of the actual prototype. Maybe bits and pieces, but nothing substantial. Elements from this contradict what is proven to be prototype material so this might had been just another weird non-canon Rayman story when it was being developed.
@@FrameRater I have no idea who JJ is. I don't recall that being his girlfriend. I'm fairly sure this story was something they threw together for the DS version. Not really sure what they were going with tbh. It reusing the story of Rayman 2 is rather interesting though as the engine the game runs on is the same as Rayman 2, and thus also Rayman DS (OpenSpace). It's also worth noting the game has unused 3D maps for cutscenes which don't appear in the final game, so they had some more plans for the story originally.
I think "JJ" was referred to in L'Histoire de Rayman in the Rayman 4 section. I could be mixing this up with something else though, I think there's a similarly named character in Five Nights at Freddy's.
I'm a bit late to the party but upon Reading the cut dialogues it's pretty clear that JJ is NOT rayman's girlfriend "I'll send HIM back to your World" obviously he's a boy. What's really interesting tho is that Rayman really seems to trust JJ, even to the point of letting him handle "fate of the World" business, maybe RRR games were supposed to introduce a New main character ?

Same here, I love both of them and its heart-breaking hearing people tear apart the handheld ports of rabbids vidya. At the very least, mario + rabbids seemed to sway the consensus at large towards a more positive view of the rabbids these days, but back in their heyday it was a different story. Nice video, one thing I hated about the 1st DS game is that Most levels give you 3 trophies and you need 90 trophies for the final boss, so youd expect nearly 35-40 levels, but then the robot levels provide 12 trophies and have no section after reaching the path, it just cuts straight to the autoscroller, and theres 3 of them, so that cuts out 12 potential levels :/

With the Raving Rabbids franchise, you can’t torture a Minion, but you _can_ beat up a Rabbid.
I'm gonna be honest. I literally had no idea the Rabbids came from the Rayman franchise. I've always thought they were their own thing.
Understandable. Probably because they did just become their own thing after they separated the two in 2011 with Rayman Origins.
Rabbids DS was one I never played, but always thought was cool. It was the closest thing we got to a traditional 2.5D Rayman game.
