You can also sprout flax seeds in regular unglazed terra cotta clay under the plant saucers. Like a 6” diameter one they are available at nurseries or Amazon
My Geo arrived and I plan on sprouting flax this coming week, or as soon as the sprouts I have in all 3 trays are done. I'm so glad you made this video, as I will use your instructions for sprouting my flax. Do you have a set amount of any seed that you use on each Geo tray (I saw that you add 12g of flax)? I ask because my first sprouting that I have going right now -- I think I used to many seeds (I used 1.5 tablespoons on each tray). Do you have a video just of sprouting in the GEO? I'm curious because it doesn't come with any instructions. What do you do when the sprouts get too tall to remain in the tower? Do you separate the trays and let them, then, grow individually? If so - how do you keep them moist so they don't dry out? I know - a lot of questions. Thank you in advance for any help! Do you find any difference between the brown and the golden flax when sprouting Nikki? 🌺
Great video! Question: After you soak the seeds for 20 minutes how do you get rid of the gelatinous substance? I rinsed and rinsed and they wouldn't drain well.
Hi Valerie, you don’t get rid of it, the stickiness remains. For this reason flax seeds won’t sprout well in a jar. They’re great grown as microgreens on a substrate (such as soil mix, coco coir, hemp mats) or as sprouts on the GEO tray or in the hemp bag. There are probably lots of other ways to grow them, but for now these are the methods I find work the best.

You definitely can, but I’m wary of the source of the terracotta. Some might contain lead. GEO trays have been tested.
Thank you for sharing your great experiment with us, Nicki!

Hi, lovely video. Do you spray the geo trays twice a day as well?
I am starting my flax experiments today. One Geo with brown and one Geo with golden.
Hi Cindy! How did the golden flaxseed do?
Very good video ❤
Thanks for taking the time to comment! 💚
I am also not difficult, just misunderstood. 🤣
