i am 53 yrs old from the UK learning on an electric guitar and to be honest? I have only being playing with guitar tricks (12 months subscription at $99/£78 ) for just over 2 months and it is fantastic, you learn at your speed, you start to play on sting 1 (thinnest high e string, then move up to 2 strings, 3 strings, 4 strings etc)... after every lesson you have to learn the lesson off by heart then you move on, so easy to learn and well worth the £78 for the year, its a lot less than buying a coffee a day, after 2 months (i work 12hour shifts and some days i am just sooo tired to pick the guitar up) I am playing 4 strings comfortably..next lessons are the power chords..bring it on!!! loving the guitar tricks learning, i maybe slow BUT I WILL BE SHREDDING hopefully by the next summer in my garden with the neighbours around....if covid allows :D
Great review. I didn't know about the free limited lessons without cc required. Think I'll try out that one first before trying Guitar Jamz and others. I used to play at an intermediate level but it was 30 years ago and now I forgot everything. Sure wish the internet was available when I was younger. I would have shaves many years off of getting good at my hobbies and endeavors 😁.
The only guitar related channel that had an impact on My playing would be Bernth''s channel. He emphasizes on the mistakes He've encountered in the past and shows how to correct it. He can even teach theory under 10 minutes!

I have learned the basics with JustinGuitar, which is a free service. Justin Sandercoe is an amazing teacher, not only guitar technique and theory, but also the psychology behind "how to". That said, I keep coming back to Guitar Tricks. I find their lessons very, very systematic and thorough (not that Justin's arent). Justin mixes up all kind of styles and techniques, like blues, funk and fingerstyle lessons throughout the beginner's and intermediate courses. Like e.g. one lesson you learn a blues riff, and the next you are trying out folk fingerstyle. I find that confusing and distracts me from my path. Guitar Tricks keeps them separate, which for me makes more sense, once you enter the "advanced beginner" stage. Blues, for one, is incredibly well taught by the Dane Anders Mouridsen. I love it. Also other genres are laid out as separate courses. One point of critisism to guitar Tricks must be the layout of their website, it is very outdated.
Thanks for the video. I signed up for guitar tricks for 1 year, I did not enjoy it at all. Being a beginner I thought the lessons were very difficult, and I became very frustrated and quit playing. Now I did practice an hour a day. So now I’m in search for another course.
@@Levi89723 you're probably not searching anymore, but could be useful to you or someone else. I started learning on guitar tricks since they had an offer for a discounted membership. As of now, I've found the lessons to be well explained, short and interesting. Just go in and be happy when the guitar makes a noise, any noise. You'll enjoy it even more when it starts sounding great. If you go in thinking you'll be good at it, you won't be then you'll quit. So just don't care for the first month or two and enjoy it. (60 days money back anyways, so you have time to get better)

Though I'd still recommend it, I found learning to be easy with the newer classes they have. It wasn't always easy, sometimes it good annoyingly difficult to move my fingers quickly and correctly, but it never seemed impossible. Plus I think they still have a 30 days guaranteed thing, so you honestly don't have much to lose. Plus it's a reason to practice a lot the first month lol, you'll know quickly if you want to keep it
How useable is the Guitar Tricks App on an Iphone? I would love to have an app that is really mobile, I don't have a laptop, only a desk top and an Iphone, and I don't want to be tied to my desk to do lessons.
It’s a scam. They advertise a full 60 day Money back guarantee. I cancelled at day 38 and was billed for two months. They only refunded my the second month despite their false advertisements of “full money back guarantee for 60 days.”
You really sound like more of a salesman then a objective reviewer. You didn't feel intimidated, well you've been playing for 30 yrs SO I would think not. LOL
They don't have that...that is true...I am a blood bought slave of Christ and just joined for the experience since I am complete noob at guitar...so far there is a lot to be had and learned from...I will say there are those who are on their forum that will attack Christians...but that is to be expected for Christ said if we were of the world they would love us, yet since we are not of the world we will be hated as Christ was hated. Yet this will not deter me from sharing my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and they cannot claim they did not hear the gospel come judgment day... And truth be told, Christian music is not a genre...all forms...genres can be used to glorify the Lord, from Country to Blues to Rock to Rap and everything in between...so whatever style you play, play it to glorify the Lord God.
