After watching this video, I tried out Yousician and did end up going with a membership not too long after. I agree with a bunch of your points - there are a lot of good videos and playing feels easy. Thanks for your review!
As a total newbie one good part about Yousician is it has you hitting the "right notes" within seconds even if it's just plucking an open string. Felt good to do something right though 😂
I've been using the premium membership (guitar) for a few weeks and am impressed at the progress I have been making already. Without the app i think I'd be struggling with TH-cam videos and would probably have given up by now. But you do have to practice just about every day to get your money's worth.
Was using the free version (10 minutes a day) till I felt "ready" to move on to longer and more frequent uke workouts daily. As it happened I got a sub offer around the holidays last year for a $99 annual sub for all instruments offered and voice with the option for 4 email'd accounts to sub/sub, which some family members are taking advantage of. Beyond Yousician, like you, leaves for me self taught and that's not bad really. Yousician adds a fun game level to your learning process.
An Application like Yousician may motivate you and give you great tools to learn and improve your skills. But at the end of the day, you need to practice what you learn. The Application won't do it for you. What it is intended for is MOTIVATION. Hopefully you find a tool that motivates you, and stick to it! Having people to play/practice with is 200% better than just an app alone though. Keep that in mind! Have fun :)
Without it I would have quit the bass. Taking regular lessons along with it is essential. Playing scales can get boring playing a basic baseline to whiskey in a jar keeps you going
I wouldn‘t call it song lessons. It‘s more like gameified tabs. I wish there was some theoretic information about each song as well. Like the key, time signature etc. of the song. Also in my case Yousician has a lot of trouble to hear me playing. It sees mistakes where I play correctly and sometime it hears a correct notes where I don‘t even play. All in all the price is OK for what you get, but there is room for improvement. For example it would be great if two or more players could play together. Music is a team efford after all.
Honestly, don't pay for for something like this, save your money. Just use TH-cam. There are thousands of videos showing you how to play your favourite songs, how to finger chord shapes, learning scales e.t.c. e.t.c. Yousician is a bit gimmicky.

Great review… makes a change to see a review that’s a bit shorter but works really well
I was wondering whether to subscribe or not and now I am going to. Thanks

Love your review! Do you know what differs between the premium and premium plus membership?
1:26 have you watched the video?
@@victorhovmand8728 oops i guess my brain skipped over this part when watching. thank you for the timestamp!
Thanks for your review! Awesome!!!
Great review thank you
Which did you prefer? This or guitar tricks?
Guitar tricks definitely, give it a try you won’t be disappointed
I prefer Yousician actually. It makes playing guitar and singing feel like a game, instead of a big effort. Guitar Tricks did not do it for me
Is there another similar app where I can practice for a longer period of time ?
I went with a trial version of this but I saw Rick Beato has a new course for beginners. So I might check that out.
Bro do we hv to pay for free trail also.. do they refund if we cancels before trail period ends
I want to try free tail for 7 days but they r asking me to pay 487
I just want to know if the tabs are accurate
Does it teach strumming?
Yes, and it shows up down and strumming patterns in the tabs as you read them.
Does you yousicion teach you how to read notes
Thanks this was helpful
So does yousician makes you good at guitar?
It is pretty fun to use to be honest

I just started using it. But to me it feels like the Rosetta Stone of learning to play music.
