- Everyone needs food to live, but sometimes a person cannot eat orally to sustain their metabolic functions. Though commercial formulas are popular when it comes to nutrition support blenderized tube feedings are making a come back. Blenderized feedings are made by taking whole foods (ex: fruits, vegetables, meats, grains, etc) and liquifying them in a blender with the assistance of milk, broth, water, and juice for instance.

I am glad I have TH-cam with people like you. I had a dietitian that gave me no information. I was only given and told to use a corn syrup formula. In the hospital, I stayed sick of being constantly fed that stuff. Once I got out, I decreased the amount, but was always hungry.
I loved this information. I have ALS and have been using blended tube feeds!

Thank you for this. I'm getting a jejunostomy in 2 weeks, and I'm really wanting to blend my own feeds. There's so much sugars in commercial tube formulas, and I want more control over what I put into my body

Thank you for this! Any advice on how to transition from GJ BTF to G BTF? We are hoping to help balance my son's gut so to speak as he has been on formula for 4 years- from milk based to food based. It has not helped him but made his oral secretions, acid reflex, constipation, and ab pain worst. These 3 days of BTF via J has really helped him. It is currently mixed with a formula-Elecare. But, we are wanting him to get off of that soon.
