      Porsche Boxster Content 120k at the moment

    • @lamborghinicountach7370
      @lamborghinicountach7370 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Porsche Boxster Content to be honest if the car is over 150k miles and it is only 7k, the car might have been abused. The price doesn’t tell everything but the more expensive price it is the more better and taken care condition it is. Usually the cheap condition s2k has rusted chassis inside and compression leaks with horsepower & torque decrease. Mostly higher price s2ks are overpriced but lower priced s2ks are in a slutty condition with abusive previous owners. Its better to find a decent price around 15~20k with less than 70~80k miles to be safe with engine compression test to see if the motor is healthy. You will end up spending another 15k if u get an under 10k priced s2000. S2ks are not a cheap car its farmost affordable and it isn’t meant to be driven on a bad condition thats listed for 10k or under on the market

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The S2000 is honestly the same for the most part. While it does have an electric steering rack, the steering feel is fantastic and about 97% of that of a depowered Miata rack. Not drawing any power from the engine is great too. The S2000 ABS is really awesome too. Other than that they are simple cars. No traction control until 06+ and no complicated electronics.

    My answer is MIATA !
    But a very special one...
    I bought a 19 RF 184hp New and added 10K$ in racing parts
    I bought a full loads of parts from BBr Gti, including SUPER 220 naturally aspirated engine prep.
    It include
    -BBr 4 in 1 high flow tuned lenght stainless Steel manifold
    - BBr cold air intake system with k&n air filter
    - BBr bespoke high perf camshaft with valves spring and retainer
    - BBR Custom StarChip ECU remap with uprated rpm limiter from 7200 stock to 7800rpm !
    YES, I do not run freakin 9000rpm, but close to 8000rpm is freakin awesome LoL
    Châssis had been upgraded with top of the line Ohlins threaded shocks, stiffer rollbar from Eibach, larger Michelin tire and so on.
    In short, best of both world, a modern S2000 Mazda !

      Agree except the BMW comment. The e46 and e9x have extremely rubbery shifting. Sucks compared to the Hondas. Out of all the cars I’ve owned or dad has owned the order I give is. S2000, NSX, 350z, 997 (my current car), e36/46/9X M3. Yes, I’m putting the Z above the 911 and M3s. Much more direct and shorter throw, even if it is a bit notchy. Not a better car for the buck used than the s2000!! Tempted to get one even though I have a 997 as my fun car, just because they are so cheap and fun AF!!

    I’ve always wondered why everyone hyped the Miata (and BRZ) so much. Yes, it’s a decent “drivers car” but the fact that it can be bear off the line by most soccer mom minivans makes it a little anticlimactic. I never understood why people didn’t spend a few thousand more and get a “real” sports car with almost double the HP and revs like a bat out of hell. I had a 2003 350z back in that year, but look back and kind of wish I got an s2000 instead (I’m not a convertible guy). May not be as fast but I think it’s a better experience.

    People getting to know how to tame cars should start out smaller right?
    like in a miata with stock tires (or possibly mr2 spyder) cause small-light sports cars don't require a lot of speed to experience lift-off oversteer and trail-brake-oversteer plus they won't cost you a whole lot if you wreck one of them; sim racing is even cheaper and I think really helpful for getting the theory of driving dynamics.

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard for me to give a comparo because the K car I drove was really a one trick pony for the track. In it's trim it was a terrible street car. With that said, I think the K swaps are cool and probably what I'd end up doing with my NB. I've also tossed around the idea of just straight up swapping an F20C and S2000 6 Speed so there is no weirdness with a mix matched drivetrain or giant heavy flywheel adapter to mate the Miata trans to the K. Tommy eliminated the PPF and just braced the trans and diff and it didn't seem to effect rigidity at all.

    So I'm not a hater and this is a great channel. But a 148 ft/lbs isn't a lot. I'm a car guy and so I appreciate the S2K, but I'm a torque guy. In fact I enjoy engines with balanced HP and torque, like a Z3 3.0 with about 225 each. I think of the S2K as a 2 stroke. And since I don't drive on a track, but on twisty narrow mountain roads I don't want the HP to double, even when I want it most just after the apex. No thanks. I'm glad enthusiasts keep this car alive, and stay away from cars I like. I'm guessing a pro driver would get better times in an S2K, but I'm sure I would get better times in my Boxster or Z3. So in the end, to each his own. PS wouldn't your RX7 smoke the S2K on the track?
