    The problem with the term “conspiracy theory” is that “the government is doing insanely evil things for selfish reasons” and “the government hiding from us that the earth is flat at great cost and no benefit to itself” are two ideas with completely different intellectual values but they are categorised the same way.

      I have my own personal conspiracy theory that the government is actually the ones behind the insane theories like "the world is actually flat and every world government is covering that up for some reason!" and "Every major politician is actually a lizardman who wants to eat us all!!!!" to purposefully conflate genuine conspiracy theories with these ridiculous ones to be able to have the populace look at it and go "oh, a conspiracy theory, I bet it's just as kooky as Flat Earth or the lizard people!"

    This explains why my cat completely disappeared on October 31st this year, we never found a single trace. No buzzards, the dog never found him , and we don't have neighbors. My cat clearly returned to the CIA after monitoring me for 4 years. I don't know if I feel better or worse now knowing what really happened.

      When I was a kid my cat disappeared on October 31. This was in the early '90s. The running theory then was that people stole it just to cause trouble on Halloween (or something more extreme like an animal sacrifice.) I have no idea what actually happened, was just sad my cat was gone.

      Based on the design of the weapon when compared to the needs of actual operatives, it is rather likely this weapon never truely existed and was merely a prop shown to scare the soviets, while the weapon could theoretically function as stated it wouldn't have looked like a gun and rather some regular object like a cane or umbrella, additionally the scope is a poor choice for a pistol with supposedly a max range of 300 meters

      He also allowed and supported several crazy things to happen too, he forced a naval blockade on Cuba despite a blockade being and act of war JFK called it a naval "quarantine" becuse he new calling it a blockade would be announcing war. During this tiem a US ship intercepted a Soviet submarine B-59 and began firing depth charges on the sub carring nukes and the sub prepared to launch it nukes believing ww3 had begun becuse they were being attacked, thankfully Vasily Arkhipov was the only officer on board the sub who refused to allow the launch and preventing ww3, which almost happened becuse of JFKs naval blockade

    Something's missing from most of these: the actual conspiracy theories. In order for a conspiracy theory to turn out to be true, there has to be a conspiracy *theory* before the conspiracy itself is unveiled. Describing a conspiracy that really happened doesn't show that a conspiracy *theory* turned out to be true, only that a conspiracy happened.

      The conspiring was done by top level government officials and the theory was that top level government officials were conspiring to do some looney toons bs.       the thing is disinformation based on one true event but spreading across an entire system, is entirely a real thing.
      The event happened, yes, but not every doctor was involved, and just because one shifty thing happened, does not mean that all doctors are bad and that you should lose your faith in THE ENTIRE MEDICAL SYSTEM because of it, disinformation can be based in truth, in fact the closer to the truth disinformation is, the easier it is for people to fall prey to it.

      Hey, Planned Parenthood outlined several methods for "reducing the size of the U.S. population" in the Jaffe Memo, one of which was to push homosexuality on as many people as possible. Also putting "feminine products" into the water supply to reduce the amount of Testosterone in Men...which is supported by many studies, including one that found the average 20 something year old American Male these days has the sperm count and quality of a 60 year old man back during the 40's and 50's. Took a while for their methods to work on the population, but they've seen some pretty disgusting success.
      Thank GOD we have someone like RFK in office now. Time to get cracking on reversing much of this INSANITY and making America Healthy again!

    The cat spy story reminds me of the comic Girl Genius where someone similarly had the idea to use cats as spies and created an intelligent talking cat to act as their emperor, able to command all other cats. Said talking cat points out that it was a complete failure, and when asked why he exclaims: "Because they're _cats!"_
