Dude I was genuinely boggled when I walked into my friend's house at one point in my Arc'teryx jacket I had been wearing for 5 years at that point, with my Salomon Speedcross 3s and my hiking trousers and his little sister was like 'oh my god dude, the drip'. Meanwhile I'm just there in my comfy hiking gear that I wore when bushwhacking and when I wasn't looking to impress anyone.

It literally felt like the moment I got them everyone started treating them like panda dunks. It’s just so odd to me that people take it upon themselves to tell me what they think of my clothes. Sambas were a staple in the 90’s when I was young and played youth soccer. I would play indoor with them. Fast forward to today I have a pair wear them I’m going to be outside in the grass somewhere as they don’t pick up a lot of stains. So I’m going to house. For example, I’ll play volleyball with them or soccer or football in the yard still a functional classic.
Another plus to the sambas: they are the best shoes for driving that aren’t purpose-made I’ve ever tried. Fantastic pedalfeel and control so car freaks amongst us may want to consider
