      @@12voltfever hey buddy, excellent video. I have a competition coming up literally next weekend (6/12/21) slamology. I just got this dsp and have a couple problems hoping to clear up but will keep to just 1 most major. When I set gains with DD-1 I'm detecting distortion regardless what volume level after this dsp. Clean signal from HU at max volume. I'm not familiar with this dsp and haven't seen another video from you on it discussing more depth.

    Terrific opportunity for me to get a ‘feel’ for these (compared to Dayton DSP, Kenwood KEY….). Hoping that you can share your expertise. For someone running Components in All Four corners (2way F, 3way R). That equals Ten “channels”. If I wanted to employ your DSP, INSTEAD of power-robbing Passive crossovers, how would I Most Efficiently address TEN channels (originating from 4 HU outputs) ??
    Using your DSPs, I would employ Amps in the system, rather than HU ‘amps’.
    Thanks !

    • @12voltfever
      @12voltfever  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need enough amps or channels from multi channel amps to separately power each component. You will not be using 4 outputs from your radio, only 1.

    • @12voltfever
      @12voltfever  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that is why you leave an amp on full range mode (if it has a switch). If it has knobs, the HPF should be all the way down to 10hz and the LPF should go all the way up, 20000+ Hz.

    I was going to buy one of these but ll stick with the old crossovers models. These are for people using full range or mids and high. Since these are only 2 inputs you cannot have inputs for the subs. You would need a bass knob or another dsp or preamp/eq since you cannot set the volume to the subs. It would have been great if it was 4 input. Or the other way is from the stereo to this. You can eq at this point. Then a preamp/eq (but flat youll use dsp eq) Only use the preamp for the main volume and sub level. Thats what i think i would go. Im open to suggestions

    • @12voltfever
      @12voltfever  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can have subwoofer input. You just won't have stereo sound. (Inputs A and B can be routed independently) But, it's easy to add a bassknob from the rca coming out of the dsp going into the amp. Plenty for sale out there.

      If you don't want to have stereo sound you can certainly do that and use the routing feature to separate the two signals. However I usually recommend an RCA bass knob in-between the DSP output and amplifier input.

      As far as I know music is only recorded in stereo with left and right. You do have 8 outputs so if you only wanted some of them to play your rear speakers just have that output connect to whatever amp or channels on a multichannel amplifier that will be powering the rear speakers.

    • @12voltfever

      If its a low hiss, that is white noise and you will get that. You can combat by lowering the MASTER GAIN in side the DSP or using less gain on the amps but you wont get rid of it 100%. If its a hum noise or engine noise there is interference somewhere else in the system.

    • @12voltfever
      @12voltfever  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the input you are only going to use one pair of RCA. Full range LEFT and RIGHT. For the output, if you really need 2 RCA for your amplifier (a 2 or 4 channel, for example) then you program 2 outputs exactly the same and use the 2 outputs for that amp/channel.
