    The ability to take the D series amplifier and wire everything into one box, no rca's (if using stock deck), no distribution blocks, no mazes, no need for a big & complicated amp rack, just one neat and tidy install with all of the adjustability (other than Epicentre of course) is just really, really appealing for that clean look. Not to mention, easy to troubleshoot if it's only one piece of equipment.

    It's great that you make these videos and the build you did for your dad's car was nice and simple. Could you one day make a budget build that provides amazing sound using some easy cost-effective equipment? As some of the components that you tend to showcase are not very affordable to everyone like me. I know you pretty much get what you pay for but there has to be a middle ground / budget-friendly for those of us on a tight budget but still want some amazing sound in our vehicles. is this even possible to achieve? or am I just reaching for the stars...

    Great video! I really enjoyed the way you explained these things. I always struggle with explaining signal processing/Time alignment, etc. to anyone. From now on I will just show them this video. Shouldn’t be too many questions after that. I learned a few things about Audiocontrol’s “D” series processors and amplifiers, too. Thanks Mark!! I was totally unaware they had all these different items. I was having trouble deciding what to get when I thought they only had 4 or 5 different things and now I'm WAY WAY worse off because they make so much rad stuff. So thanks for that, appreciate it. LoL. Jokes aside I did learn a bunch more about what they offer and have a better idea of what to get now so I do appreciate that! Few people have said comments on prices and how high they are but if u think about it they are not that much. Find any other company and build a system that sounds as good with the features and all the sick a$$ tech they have and that looks as good and has such a small foot print for install options and add up what you would need to spend then. Thats if you can find anything that comes close to what they have put out I mean. Not a easy task!

    I hate these videos and here is why:
    I used to be a car audio nut, always had custom gear in my vehicles, and home. I left a job 5 years ago, and have spent all my time taking care of my disabled mother - very tiny income from doing some graphic design and as a gear nerd (hardware, electronics, items in general) I watch this video and only feel like poo because I can't afford it. I will be looking for work again here soon but the first 6 months of my money will go to my mothers house to restore it.
    I love care audio, quality and thump, I just miss it, and am jealous I can't have it LOL.
    CarAudioFabrication keep up the great videos. They are very educational and useful to those that need the education. GG ♥

    Great video as always.
    What I would like, and I think many people more is this: I have a fairly new car of 2019, (not really interesting but it's a Skoda Octavia stationwagon) and it has quite crappy audio, dab+ (which I really like, we have a really good dab+ network in the Netherlands) and Bluetooth connectivity. But cheap speakers and cheap amplifier. And no line outs. I would like to see a video how to use a standard main unit and change main speakers and maybe add a subwoofer. And on a budget since most people can't afford all the equipment you use. (i like the audio control lc2 you mentioned, it's affordable)
    Would be great!

    I’m really enjoying your channel ! Thank you for the Professionalism. As a result of my viewing today, I think I might Abandon my current plan for my Van.
    I have (planned) 2-way Components in ‘cockpit’, and 3-way Components in rear main van body, NO sub (for a while), and directed off of a 4ch Pioneer HU output.
    If I relied upon included Passive crossovers from speaker manufacturer, I COULD get by with a moderate quality 4ch Class D amp.
    ** BTW, my listening preference is exclusively Fidelity/SQ orientation.
    As a result of your relevant videos, I’m torn between powering Each piece of the components with an amplified channel (=10ch.), which might be cost-prohibitive (for decent gear).
    Alternatively, 4ch of amplification to the ‘four corners’, with (tuning) from a DSP (8 or 10ch ?).
    Or …. ?? (ANY input would be AWESOME).
    I love the separation that can be achieved through components. Oh, and I do Not want to have to alter my vehicle electronics (i.e. Alternator).
    I would be THRILLED to get a Reply 😬

    Maybe you can make a recommendation for my planned setup. Pioneer FH-S700BT receiver, Pioneer GM-DX874 4 channel amplifier, and a Kicker 46CXA1200.1T mono amplifier. The 4 channel amplifier will power 4 Pioneer 6.5" 4 way coaxials, and the mono amplifier will power 2 12" subwoofers. A line driver makes sense due to the low output voltage from the receiver, but anything else that's got that ability plus more would be great.

    I have the DDX9905s and the Alpine PDX F6 plus M12 mono.
    Now the Kenwood can get to full volume with no distortion but has 5v pre-outs where the 4 channel F6 amp accepts a maximum input of 4v.
    Now would there be any issues here or should I raise the volume on the head unit using the test tones until I see a max of 4v from the RCA's?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @vitaminb4869
      @vitaminb4869 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't overthink it. Plug it in and set your gains so it's loud enough for your normal listening levels without clipping if you decide to crank it up here and there. Setting gains by voltage alone are likely to yield poor results. Just because your amp accepts "4v max" inputs, doesn't mean it can't go higher or that you're actually sending more than 4v into it at all times. Just turn down the gain on your amp if it's too much. I know they say the amp gain is not a volume knob, but it actually is, in the same manner as the volume knob on your head unit controls the gain of its internal amplifier.

    • @tee_tow
      @tee_tow 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vitaminb4869 Never had an issue before but being told different things.
      I can understand if you have 8v pre out max or higher but something with 5v max shouldn't have issues as you stated especially since music is dynamic and it ain't no sine wave being used.
      Don't have a distortion detector or handheld oscilloscope but know the head unit is clean at max volume from online vids but would be using ohms law to get the desired wattage or AC voltage output from the amps.
      From there I'll throw in some decent quality music and see how it all sounds.
      Thanks for the reply!

    • @vitaminb4869
      @vitaminb4869 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tee_tow If you never had an issue before and all was and is working well, then I wouldn't touch a thing just because someone somewhere on the internet said that it's all wrong.
      You don't need a distortion detector. You can easily hear distortion and clipping. I tried setting my gains with an oscilloscope and a sine wave, but didn't like the results and just set it by ear.

      Haven't installed in a couple of years and never had issues then especially with "decent" quality equipment.
      Not my car but don't really see many issues between these components, just wanna be on the safe side.
      That's just it i've asked a couple of Pros from workshops and one said to match the head unit voltage and the other said not to worry about it as the difference is marginal 🤷‍♂️
      But I will start with correct AC voltage coming out of the amps to suit the wattage that I want to match the speakers using a dmm then after listening sessions will adjust from there as usual.

Only then a lot of "Bassheads" would be inclined to take advantage of AccuBass now that more and more newer vehicles come with a high-end touchscreen factory radio such as on my Ford Edge. I also would like for the AccuBass to be optional for the other channels because now that I've upgraded my door speakers (mid-bass), I'd like to make up for the bass roll-off in them as well. have to hand it to AudioControl on all the things.🥇🎊🎉
    and thanks for the layout of what each does.
    One question: My (Android/china) stereo broke but still worked and I think it was pushing too much power through the rear right channel, which caused massive distortion and pops through the Harmon Kardon (bmw) amp, and blew the speaker...
    So, (not knowing this at the time), got an aftermarket amp that I hooked up and all was fine for a week then the rear channel blew out on the amp.
    So, question is, will the Line Output Converter resolve a voltage spikes or distortion that possibly was caused by the android stereo?
    Or, will it take the damage (or be able to handle the damage) or will it allow bad signals to pass through to the amp through the RCA's?

    So dumb question, if running a DSP or signal restorer running to an amp like a Rockford Fosgate punch series 1000bd monoblock would that better audio quality pass through the RCAs and give that amplifier better quality or would it not recognize that better signal and just see a regular 2v/4v RCA signal from an aftermarket head unit. Or would you have to have amplifier that can receive and understand that quality of a signal. I just don’t want to invest and my amplifier not be able to use that quality of a signal and it make no difference. Hopefully my question makes since, I love your videos!

    im so overwhelmed with the car audio world. when he was talking about if you have a premium audio system with factory amp you might want to go with the lc7 line output converter i didnt get why that is exactly.

      Because their are bandwidth limited channels like tweeters and mids that need to be summed back to full range so you can pick your own crossover points and control via your amps or EQ.

    What about having an aftermarket head unit and aftermarket amp? Do I still need at line out converter? Or am I good with a DSP, equalized and active crossover?

      Shca premium rca, pricey but phenominal cables, crystal clear. Bought sum from china, spent like 200 on sum for all my amps, 8 with 4 four ch amps and 4 monoblocks so i needed alot of rca, 8 three fters and 8 1 and a half fters. The rca is silver and the copper is ofc. Silver is what u want if u can afford it. Evergreen is descent too. If u can, make ur own, so much cheaper .

    I don't like the dsp and amp all in one. When the amp blows you loose way too much money. If you had a separate dsp, you would only loose your amp. Lost $1000 when my Audison Prima 8.9 bit, 8 channel amp/dsp, decided to go into fault protection mode and never turn back on.

      @@CarAudioFabrication My Audison had a 3 year warranty, and the AudioControl only has a 1 year warranty, unless installed by an authorized dealer. No one here is going to have someone else install their amps, that's why they are here.

    • @klubstompers
      @klubstompers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarAudioFabrication I dont understand why they warranty from a dealer for 5 years, but only 1 year in you install yourself. My dad had an authorised audison dealer install his amp, and it blew 2 times after about 2 days each time. I had to rewire it myself for him, so it didnt blow the 3rd amp. They didnt have a clue. Had it wired after the factory amp, which was sending way too hot of a signal, had the bass turned all the way up on the factory stereo, which was also distorted. Didn't sum anything, just took 1 source from the amp, that was pre eqed. Horrible. Quality of work was horrible as well. That has nothing to do with audiocontrol, thats on the dealer, but they warranty those clowns for 5 years. AudioControl make great products, but one year, no thanks.

    I just got a system installed in my car and I am not happy with the sound. It's a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback. I got a LC7i because I am unfortunately stuck with a stock head unit for the moment. I also got a JL Audio HD900/5 amp and a HO110-w6w3 sub and Focal components in front and coaxes in the back. 2 problems:
    1. There is an audible hiss that is really annoying at lower volumes. If I crank up the volume enough I can drown out the hiss but it's super annoying. I think it's the LC7i but I can't be sure.
    2. It feels like there is a black hole in the sound in the mids. When listening to a bassline I can hear as the notes are going up and down and the lower notes are thumping from the sub but as they go up in frequency they get way more quiet and have less impact. I think the installer messed up the crossovers or something, or maybe something is out of phase. I don't know. All I know is that my mids are weak AF and it sucks.
    Anyone have any ideas or input?

    Could u do a video about amp placement? As in how much space different power ratings and classes of amps need to keep it safe from over heating. I see you installing amps underneath floors but I then also see people all over online saying not to do that as they will be prone to overheating.

    • @CarAudioFabrication

      Most people online are interested in bargain basement gear that is designed poorly and thus needs auxiliary cooling. Use quality gear, leave 1 inch of clearance around the amps and you are good to go.

    Why is the Epicenter Plus Discontinued? Seems like an awesome product. If they're still making the Epicenter, why not the plus? Does it offer too much amazing functionality that competes with a different product they want to sell us additionally? Seems really well made. Like if I buy one of the few that are still available, it will last.

    Just to clarify the order these components go, so from factory head unit would be line out converter to equalizer to crossover to amplifier?
    What if I wanted to add the epicenter into the components listed above? What would the order be? The epicenter right after the crossover and before the subwoofer amp?

    I have a question for you. I have a audiocontrol epicenter and a
    audiocontrol 4 and one audiocontrol Equalizer. The right way to hook up the epicenter to the aftermarket radio is to run a set of rcas from the radio to the input of the epicenter. And since I have a audiocontrol equalizer 4.1 the rca output of the epicenter. On which rca plug in on my Equalizer do I run my rcas in to from the output from the epicenter
