All of a sudden? House ended 6 years ago. You mean to tell me he looks older than he did 6 to 14 years ago when he was doing House? Oh noes! Next you're gonna tell me people die.
@richard mcmahon indeed i am, but as far as youtube comments go, that's being nice :P although i'm being more sarcastic, which, seeing as we're talking about house is quite appropriate, wouldn't you say old chap?
It wasn't live TV. The last one was, but this one was recorded before a studio audience and broadcast later. They had a whole conversation about that at the beginning of the segment.
Hugh was great in "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"Staring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry very Pythonesque Both comedians are masters of linguistics. Check it out
I first saw him in Stuart Little when I was probably 3 years old. I absolutely loved him back then. Recently I binge watched Blackadder, House and The Night Manager, I am awed by his acting range. His eyes depict deep emotions so effortlessly!
If I were Hugh Laurie, I'd send Stephen a thank you card every single day for a year. Tons of different stationery, and I'd write little parts of a story (out of order) on each one so Stephen has to piece it together on a corkboard like he's in a true crime show. If he lost or got rid of any, I'd then be able to guilt trip him because I put so much time and work into these thank you cards. Be careful what you wish for with passive aggression, Stephen.
It's played as a joke, like all of Stephen's big ego bits way back to the Colbert Repot, but I can't help but feel he is maybe really like this and these are half sincere. It seems to be gradually increasing over time. I love Colbert, but I don't love this aspect of his performance anymore.
Recently watched the Chance series. I liked it for the characters and the story line. Hugh's body of work doesn't begin or end with his House series, and it's great to see his work - no matter the project because he is a damn good actor.
Exactly what I just commented!! Stephen Fry was a massive part of Hugh Laurie's success. They are both brilliant and I wish they would do more together.
Yep, I'll be watching Chance for sure. Very rarely that I care about the celebrity bits of these shows, but glad I watched this one. That said... is there no place in these shows for a sarcastic british doctor?
Hugh Laurie is a fascinating and amazingly accomplished actor and musician and Stephen Colbert completely blew this interview. Like he did with Graham Norton, where the interview was again more centered on Stephen than on the guest. C'mon Stephen.
StHammer Yes he does...he used to have one as 'House' most of the time and in that one notable episode where he shaved clean as part of his recovery I was like 'Ewww....put that hair back on! Now!!' He just looks tons better with stubble.
Holy shit I love Stephen it was hilarious watching Hugh Laurie squirm like that lmao if this were Fallon he would’ve talked about how much he loved him and then played a game 🙄
Man he will perfectly fit as a older version of Sherlock.
Omg...! Yes!
He's already played that role.
More like a perfect Doctor from Dr. Who
Now he's playing Mycroft.... Tbh i wanted him to play Sherlock as well!
@@prachisharma444 He's already played that role, you uneducated swine.
He sounds so strange after binge watching six seasons of House.
That show is binge-watchable but it is really, really, really formulaic about 90% of the time so I think it worked better as a week to weeker.
Imagine growing up on Fry & Laurie and then watching House.
ikr half an hour into the first episode of House i was still thinking its meant to be a comedy, but i'm the one missing the joke XD
+Victor Kong you just described my life. Add in Blackadder and you have most of the full picture.
Hahaha.. True😂😂
HIS LEG HEALED!!!!
Yes!!!
The leg injury and the accent were just hallucinations.
Robin Boots Like Festus on Gunsmoke. He Glides.
Yowzoe
It was all a Dream.
I found myself looking at it 🤣
I love this man so much
Hugh Laurie is great. Loved him as House and love his music.
He looks so much older all of a sudden ... my god
Karan Trivedi well, he’s pushing 60, so....
That's what I was saying when I saw his thumbnail!!!
All of a sudden? House ended 6 years ago. You mean to tell me he looks older than he did 6 to 14 years ago when he was doing House? Oh noes! Next you're gonna tell me people die.
and that accent, god damn i love dr house
@richard mcmahon indeed i am, but as far as youtube comments go, that's being nice :P although i'm being more sarcastic, which, seeing as we're talking about house is quite appropriate, wouldn't you say old chap?
Hard to believe he was both the Wholesome Dad in Stewart Little, and the irascible unshaved genius in House.
And the Prince Regent in Blackadder, never boring!
And that he played them well. Great versatility.
He goes from happy and wholesome to being a dick in no time lol
And don't forget his musical abilities: piano and guitar(maybe drums ?) .
Wait...he was the dad...
Hugh Laurie ! You are certainly one of the best actors of our time and it's an honor to live during your career.
I loved him in "Blackadder" and "Jeeves and Wooster"!
Flossie? Is that you?
check out "a bit of fry and laurie", you gonna love it! :-)
I just can't take his "House"-persona seriously after having grown up with 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and "Blackadder".
All Or Nothing At All fans REPRESENT!
Fortysomething fans REPRESENT!
This is a British nightmare - to be confronted on live T.V about a social faux pas :D
Miriam Springett it really is
It wasn't live TV. The last one was, but this one was recorded before a studio audience and broadcast later. They had a whole conversation about that at the beginning of the segment.
Miriam Springett Unless he’ portraying a Segway riding terrorist for a TV Docudrama? How mortifying!
Tis true. We all hope to get from the cradle to the grave with the least amount of embarrassment and faux pas
May be he was nonplussed by a gift from a person who he does not know well?
Love Hugh Laurie, such an incredible actor.
I love Hugh in everything he has done and still does.
So happpppy to hear his original accent!
Check out "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"
He does a good Merican accent, though.
siusi What accent?
Chris Smith His regular English accent.
Hugh is 60 and no matter the hair loss, he is still impeccable and amazing
Who else remembers him more for Blackadder than anything else?
A Bit of Fry and Laurie, anyone?
A bit of Fry and Laurie actually
Don't forget Jeeves and Wooster..... sir.
Bit of Fry and Laurie for me.
Real legends know him for his role in Stewart Little 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hugh was great in "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"Staring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry very Pythonesque Both comedians are masters of linguistics. Check it out

Watch "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" too. It's one of his earliest shows but I'd say it's his best
Can someone please appreciate the effort of the band too? And Hugh so much respect for this man.
Same hugh laurie is a great actor
Colbert: "My first guest...give it up for LUPUS!"
Hugh from backstage: "IT'S NEVER LUPUS."
I knew Hugh in the mid/late seventies, hasn't changed, still down to earth.
Great actor.
Hugh Laurie is my favorite thing in life.
Hugh Laurie is the best. Gentleman and a neuro-scholar.
two great people. truly kind and witty.
I miss Hugh Laurie. Thank you for coming!
I Love Hugh Laurie!!!!😍😍😍
Love the man. He's so charming and so talented ❤️💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you for posting!!! .i was so happy when i found out about it .I miss new interviews with Hugh.
Hugh Laurie 😍😍 I can listen to him speak all night ! Brilliant 😘😘
Two sharp amazing minds together
Amazing actor! One of the best!
I know him as Wooster from Wooster and Jeeves... best character ever.
If I were Hugh Laurie, I'd send Stephen a thank you card every single day for a year. EmileeArsenic excellent idea!
EmileeArsenic evil genius
And send it registered so he has to sign for it!
O..kay...
Machiavellian...cool.
There was a surreal moment in the middle there where the interview became a Fry and Laurie sketch. "What size are you in Arab stallion?" "Medium"
My favorite actor of all time :D
Love Love Love Hugh, amazing actor and musician
I love Hugh Laurie
Actor, singer, writer, director…Hugh Laurie is just fantastic, he’s one of the most interesting person I know, I really admire him so much
Dr. HOUSE MDDDDD! I was addicted to this show! It made me happy, but REALLY SO DEPRESSED TOO!
Good times.
I aspire to be this petty. This is amazing!
winner of the comments xD my god this was uncomfortable

I’m watching Jeeves and Wooster now. So sweet. SO WELL DONE!!!
Literally randomly wanted to rewatch his last interview with stephen last night and now this! Need to do that more often!
Legendary Dr House forever
Hugh Laurie Finally Says 'Thank You' To Stephen.....Fry?
That's what I thought as well
Exactly what I just commented!! Stephen Fry was a massive part of Hugh Laurie's success. They are both brilliant and I wish they would do more together.
he and Fry never stop thanking each other. Hashtag Blood Brothers?
Laverne - they were a comedy team even before Blackadder.
Rikard Peterson, Footlights has produced so many great names it must be prime territory for conspiracy theorists by now???
I was born too late to watch his shows on telly but i binged them as an adult. Great humour that doesn’t involve too much obscenity and profanity.
Interesting choice for the entrance music.
I would have gone with 'Huuuggghhh Lorie. Hugh Hugh, Hugh Hugh!'
Florian Thiel I just pictures that to to the Who song...
Evangeliman Exactly what I meant ;)
"BILL BILL BILL BILL"
creshiell - That's exactly what I was thinking!
Hugh's only 5 years older than Stephan. Wow.
The effects of smoking
He doesn't dye his hair for TV, BFD
Who's Stephan?
Eduard Leon Hugh's Stephen!?
drkwntr nah stephen is just extremely well kept. Look at Jon Stewart.
Seeing house humble and not sad is just so weird
It's always great to have a WWI vet on the show, thank you for your service Lt. George
LEGEND!!
He could do another doctor role. I hear you say, "Doctor Who?". Precisely.
He forgot to send a thank you card because everybody lies.
Chance is so under rated it's not seen on piracy sites. I have to search to find it.
I can’t get over his voice after watching every episode of House
"What size are you? in Arab stallion." oh God!!
I wonder how Stephen Fry would have said as a response to that.
I wonder how many got that the wrong way and thought of something else :D
I liked Stephen's soft initial response to the stallion comment. "They sound delicious".
He looked seriously uncomfortable. I don't think Colbert realized how embarrassed he is making him feel.
They talked about it, this has a script
Loved House. He such a good actor
I just imagined Hugh Laurie playing House like he played Bertie Wooster (Jeeves & Wooster), looks absolutely hilarious in my head.
0:26 I like how he didn´t turn his back to the audiencs before sitting down but doing a little slide xD
i love him 😍
Yep, I'll be watching Chance for sure.
There has to be a movie with both Hugh Laurie and Bryan Cranston in it. Both are awesome down to earth people.
Love him so much !! And love his clothes 😍
Why is it that every time I see Hugh Laurie I expect him to be walking out with a cane?😂😂.
Love Fry and Laurie. Awesome men!
Lol @ the walk out music! They'd been better to just play Benny Hill! 😅😅😅
Hugh loves the blues/jazz, he would have loved that music
Love Hugh ❤️❤️❤️
He would have been a brilliant sherlock Holmes.
I swear, I can't see this man as anyone else but, "Dr. Gregory House".😁💜
House is my goddamn hero
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHUGH LAURIEEEE I LOVE HOUSE SO MUCH!!!
"I _don't_ fence, but I _have_ fenced."
Ah. Alright. Give him sheet metal and bailing wire and see how long it takes him to hem a goat in.
Awwwe Bless him, "You can have both my kidneys, you don't want the liver" Too much Vicodin House?!
I mean he looks good but I think he would look 10 times better with a beard
StHammer Yes he does...he used to have one as 'House' most of the time and in that one notable episode where he shaved clean as part of his recovery I was like 'Ewww....put that hair back on! Now!!' He just looks tons better with stubble.
i agreed he is one of the few men who look younger with a stubble
@MyboiJAEGER check out his new series Avenue 5 on HBO.. His beard has returned.
Bring back Fry and Laurie -- they're both still so funny to listen to
Wow, House does a pretty good English accent.
He’s British!
What a pleasant guest indeed
When it said Stephen I thought it meant Stephen Fry :(
I still love him...
NIGHT MANAGER SEASON 2 PLEASE
This just in. They're making season 2 and 3 with Hugh as EP
Felt like we didn't get to hear from Hugh as much as Stephen spent most of the time talking. But love them both.
"We send cards" 😂😆
GO HUGH!!!! Love him
8:30 Hugh Laurie's "DAAMMMM IM GOOD" face
You beautiful man.
That was quite a waste of an interview. You don't get to have people like Hugh in your presence very often.
I so agree with that!
It's frustrating that they spent so much time rehashing and discussing the same stuff they did in his previous interview.
I never saw his previous interview so this was great 😅
creshiell You should look it up in the top videos , its even funnier .
The interview its from oct 20 2016.
Hugh!! we loove you
Wow, he could play a convincing young Tarkin.
I think he would find it a great, great honor to do so.
He's so funny 😅
Noooo don't go! Too short. Way to short! I'd Watch them chatting for an hour, happily
That "Maybe i do..." line totally caught me. I'm now checking out Chance.... As a passionate lover of House MD, i would hope i would also like Chance.
I didn't like what Steven did to him here. Hugh Laurie felt really bad for that, and it looked like a public humiliation.
Yoav Moran Yes I must agree.
Hugh Laurie is known for his good nature and sense of humor. I seriously doubt he was bothered by that skit. Lighten up already!😒
They very likely spoke about it before the show.
Brilliant! Fun interview
Receiving gift, not sending a thank you note and then sarcastically lying about it! That's such a House thing to do it!
megha sharma it's a british thing, they don't send thank you cards
I love you Hugh, old boyyyyy!
Hugh's American accent is flawless.
Aww Hugh, top fella
Holy shit I love Stephen it was hilarious watching Hugh Laurie squirm like that lmao if this were Fallon he would’ve talked about how much he loved him and then played a game 🙄
I’ve seen a NeuroPsychiatrist - for medical reasons (obviously) she was absolutely awesome!
