I love how Hugh's accent isn't switching back to his English even the bloopers. I even remember people saying his actual accent was toned down in the interviews during filming of House.
Funny thing is, he said in a few interviews that he didn't keep the accent intentionally between scenes (e.g. like method acting), so likely he just forgot to switch back.
@@GRegBellay If you've ever acted, you know that actors really get into the character and often keep speaking with the same mannerisms or accent even out of the scene when they're on set and in costume. They just get so into the character that it's hard to snap out of it.
Sometimes, when Hugh is walking with his cane and a limp, he keeps doing that even after he realizes he screwed up the line and they'll have to retake it.
@@Eddycut Same for Breaking Bad. I'm guessing it's because comedy is a realllyyy hard genre to do? At least in my opinion. So when transitioning over to other genres they have the range, expression, subtly, etc to pull it off.
Considering how House's character is dark, it's like watching a blooper reel of a horror movie, it breaks all the immersion and you remember Hugh Laurie is actually a comedian. Wilson stays as Wilson when he breaks character lol
House's character is not dark you pearl clasping nun, he's *cynical.* Dark would be if he didn't want to help people at all and *only* cared about the solution. He went out of his way and risked his career multiple times for strangers. House is *lighter* than you by a Longshot.
I love how Hugh Laurie as the series lead, works so well with the cast... And the last scene in the surgical theatre got everyone laughing. Nice ending to the reel.
@@smokejc i turned 18 this year so i have vague memories of the show because i watched it with my mom when i was very young. It’s really good but the one thing i have a hard time with is how many medical plot holes there are,, like more then usual on med dramas.
Those are the clips that make it to blooper reels… the ones where the director’s just working with them are probably more plentiful, but they’re not funny, they’re just the work.
Chase struggling with the glove and then angrily throwing it is one of the most accurate healthcare things I've seen. Doesn't matter how many times every day we put them on, they're still bastards sometimes.

The glove scene at 8:38 happens to me in the ER not infrequently. Patients and families react well to gentle sarcasm. You just get another pair of gloves. But that wouldn't make good TV.
Cuddy's laughs are so funny you know shes chill like that thats like me in the kitchen at work, that 1 stoner laugh bellying out when people roast eachother
10:24 I can’t believe he was being all silly during that scene where he tells her she’s going to die in 24 hours and it’s all his fault… it was really heartwrenching.
The glove being thrown by chase is so relatable, I work in laundry and sometimes when that glove won’t go on it becomes an ICBM being hurled at the wall lol

It also kinda makes sense that he keeps it at least until someone calls cut, because they may like the "blooper' more than what was scripted.
They hired a bunch of comedians to make a drama and lo and behold the bloopers are hilarious
It's the same formula for hiring drama actors for comedies.
For some reason comedy actors really work well in dramas or horror
Of the main cast, only Laurie was someone I considered a comedian, though maybe comic actor would be more accurate.
