    Intriguing video on the Bound Doc legacy. Learned something new about the Bound Doc making its way to spacenoids in the DUST manga.

    That was super well done! Congratulations! Any chance you could do a video on the development of the movable frame? I haven't been able to find out much about it

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If I indeed proceed with a similar video about the Gabthley in the future. Then there might be a chunk of the video to introduce moveable frames, MA transformation mechanisms and transformable frames

    One of the mobile suits I've barely researched myself so getting all this yet unknown information for me about the Baund Doc is quite a treat.
    I've only seen the Nocturne and it's Turn A descendant but I did not know the Nocturne had a link to the Baund Doc but the Byarlant Custom is so famous I knew that one inherited some from the Baund Doc.
    And I Certainly did not know of the Sand Doc... What the fuck. Thanks for the video Gundam Facts, I had a lot of fun watching this one.

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Glad you enjoyed ! Nocturne has always been a favorite concept of mine, it's a shame so few art of it was made. And yes, Sand Doc is...it is...well now you know why it wasn't in the "5 best wacky designs of Crossbone Dust" video.

    What's very interesting is that a machine with a striking simularity to the Bound Doc appears in the Dragon's Heaven movie three years after Zeta Gundam under the name of Gampe. Not surprising because they have the same mechanical designer.

    Within a flash is ost is just a perfect icing of the cake. Great video as usual but I do have a question?have you ever considered to make Gelgoog development history until Regelgu I would love to know the history behind it.

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, a old project of mine was a video about the Gelgoog development history (and how its tied to the Zaku) but the video never left the script stage. I might finish it someday, it may be worth it

    A lot of the illustrations shown in your video by makoto kobayashi are from a movie called dragons heaven.

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Kobayashi actaully copy pasted the Baund Doc design from his own work in dragon heaven. Katoki and Okawara then helped him refine it into the Zeta Baund Doc, but Kobayashi later expanded the UC lore with his original design

    Something i found interesting is that some translations of the Elmeth have it listed as the “Hermes”

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's because it was the original name, but Sunrise was scared they would be sued by the French firm Hermes who had a copyright over the name, and since they intended to sell Elmeth toys, they changed the name to Elmeth.

    • @dr.jimeagleii4108
      @dr.jimeagleii4108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gundamfacts It would have made so much sense, though, the name Hermes. With Lalah Soon being such a powerful newtype, i feel it would have been fitting to be named after the Greek God in charge of transporting souls and utilizing the spiritual plane for travel, as she used a kind of "spiritual" power to move the funnels.

    Interesting MS history though imo, every production number of a mobile suit that is either mass production or prototype, I assume it’s double or triple of what is stated as a rule of thumb considering the expansive UC lore, especially OYW designs

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh of course, the NRX-005G stuff was convenient and explainable, but a lot of model numbers are just mindbreaking and without any sense

    • @David7793
      @David7793 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gundamfacts your model number explanation made sense no worries. It’s just known UC I imagine there like a dozen of these units compared to the 3-6 mentioned, and like two or three of the land combat type.

  • @beefbigshot8789
    @beefbigshot8789 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    i always get a kick how some of these guys who write little UC bits get their cake and try to eat it when they incorporate Baund Doc parts on a Byarlant and other non-related MS. Its really wacky to me that someone, even in a fictional setting, would just willy nilly slap some parts from a really specific MS onto another MS even for something simple

    • @gundamfacts
      @gundamfacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For the Byarlant Custom it is still quite explainable. The OG Byarlant had a bad in-lore feet design, but it was necessary for good take offs (so they say). They had to modify it but since the goal was to do it with only Titans remaining suits, the choice was rather scarce. Add to that that the Baund Doc feets could transform in claws, they probably thought it was a good idea to mashup the stuff
