I wasn't home schooled my parents were able to send my sister and I to a private school. The public school in our town was terrible. I faced way more racism when I was out of school than in. As a public school teacher, my heart is breaking to hear children are getting pulled out of public school because of bullying, racism, officer abuse, and curriculum battles. It doesn't have to be this way.
Those aren't the only reasons, just some of the well-known ones. One of my biggest reasons for homeschooling is how disabled and neurodivergent students are fundamentally disadvantaged by the structure of formal schooling. That's not really fixable at a root level even if the school system does its best. I would compare it to how policing as an institution has deep-rooted, systemic inequality.
"It doesn't have to be this way" are you referring that sentence to parents who are pulling their children from public school or to the problem that occurs in school like bullying, racism and officer abuse?
I'm a single mom in nyc and this is my second year of Homeschooling my son..my reason for doing it was because of the mask mandates and the fact that DEMONcrat government was considering covid vaccine mandates...my decision is much bigger than just racism..I want my son to become an independent thinker
Maybe you need to reconsider homeschooling your kids because you already fail to be an independent thinker yourself. Or your children will be smarter than you & don't think like you do.
FairPoint however a homeschool education can be equally garbage say when there are no education standards and parents are allowed to teach their children young Earth creationism as science

What?! I knew America is like the worst place on earth but for police to haul away a little 1st grader because of sunglasses? Seems to me they should have hauled away that no good rotten assistant principal. That poor little girl will be traumatised for life. From all I've seen about American schools, I think that all parents who care about their children should pull them out and the majority of those rotten schools should shut down for good.
She is so right not all kids brain process the same way some learns quicker than the others and some schools but don't really care if your kids learn or catch on to anything you know like right now I'm having trouble with my daughter's teachers he's having issues in the subject and they just don't want to help teach her so pulling her out and I'm going to home school her since I had public schools or s*****
Raised in Montgomery AL in some of the worse schools. Being one of 5 Hispanics in a all black school I suffered some of the worst bullying ever imaginable. All because of my white skin… it made me hate myself. Glad I moved the hell out of that state. Teach your kids to love all races regardless of color.
Homeschool is great...if you can do it. Most of these parents are middle and high income earning families and have the capital, culture and material, to do so. Low earning families in low wealth communities makes homeschooling difficult.
All history is half truth written by the victors I'm just going to assume you think white people can't be racist there by making you just as racist as the group you criticize literally by definition of racism
My children are in virtual school. Best decision I ever made! The work load is actually heavier than in person public school. It is in no way easy and requires alot of dedication by parents, but it is DEFINITELY worth it!
I have definitely considered homeschooling myself. I am not decided. Personally I did not have any safe place. School was not a safe place. Home was not a safe place. I left an abusive home to go to abusive peers and teachers. There wasn't a safe place for me. As someone who endured no safe place, I can understand where people are concerned about bullying in school and abuse at home. My question to you is what's the solution to the children that get it at both ends?
Arrogant of you to apply a gender to an all-powerful being who would inevitably transcend such a foolish concept but hey you clearly admire Harley Quinn so extremely hard to respect your intelligence
As one of the few black families in our district I chose not to enroll my sun and to remove my oldest. One of the downsides is the further lack of diversity in the homeschool co-ops. I drive an hour to a more populated city for meetups once or twice a month.
Yes! This video is right on time! So glad to hear they live where I do too! I have been confused on how to take these steps as a black parent (it’s a shame, but color does matter in this instance).
I was able to watch the generation before me homeschool my cousins. 4 Girls all excelling in life. I remember thinking they would be weird or sheltered, it is the polar opposite. Then my best friends wife started a hybrid school....3 days at home and 2 at school. My wife and I tried it for one year with our eldest who is now 7 and loved it. Both of our kids are homeschooled now and enjoy the experience. In general, my mind has changed, if you are responsible for every area of your child's life until adulthood, why would we leave education to the state? Moreover for black families, with all of the struggles we experience from violence, negative stereotypes and racism, I feel safer with my kids at home with us. We are responsible for what they are learning and can be creative with how they learn it. We are not relying on the word of a teacher with 40 other students in the class. We don't worry about what negative influences other students may have on our kids. We select the families we bond with and our kids love their friends. I will be an advocate for homeschooling in our communities. Is it challenging, sometimes. But we have these years with our children for a short period of time. I enjoy being with them so much and we have fun as a family. Knowing they will be fully prepared for adulthood is an added bonus.
She seems like she's doing a great job, which i praise👌🏼.. but, unfortunately, a lot of parents "homeschool" their kids so they can babysit their siblings. Therefore, they're literally receiving 0 education.
Kudos to All Parents who are willing to teach their Own Children where they can learn at their own pace without being compared to Discriminatory Statistics. This also provides the Student cultural Benefits. Many of our People are Unaware of Our Cultures and Value and this is an Opportunity to Open the Eyes of a Child
I actually will never support stopping to mention the our history is school. It must never be forgotten. Because if we forget, it can happen again! Black lives matter!

As a black woman, I will homeschool my children if I decide to have them.
Good, public school is trash.
FairPoint however a homeschool education can be equally garbage say when there are no education standards and parents are allowed to teach their children young Earth creationism as science
YES! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤OUR CHILDREN DESERVE THE BEST! Black children thrive in a positive environment that will respect their culture and their lives! BLACK PEOPLE PLEASE GET YOUR CHILDREN OUT OF THESE DANGEROUS SCHOOLS.
I am a firm believer in homeschooling and I plan to home school my daughter.
To think America is the worst place in earth you have to have lived in America your whole life.
I’m sure you don’t live in America? Please tell me you don’t.
White people are not America or the cruelty of some. America is us all.
Seriously though, have schools ever taught The Truth about America's racism? I mean this is America, I Am Race. I'm so glad I homeschool!
I would homeschool before I would go out and buy a bulletproof backpack!!! crazy crazy crazy world! I'm grateful my children are older!
Good for anyone who homeschools, getting their kids out of the failed public education system.
And they say home schooled children don't have personality 3:13 🙄
I don’t blame them, the American school system is broken.
Your greatest contribution to the universe may not be something you do, but someone you raise.
You should’ve transferred to a predominately Hispanic school and witnessed racism against their minorities.
I'm so sorry you and your kids had to go through that. 😥
The police officer that assaulted that little girls needs to be fired
@Tarah ok well my comment is still related to the conversation the police officer needs to be delt with
Good Job ladies ❤💪🏽🙏🏽
Amazing...Congrats...Blessings...Peace...
Good on these parent's.
Homeschool is great...if you can do it. Most of these parents are middle and high income earning families and have the capital, culture and material, to do so. Low earning families in low wealth communities makes homeschooling difficult.
I am glad my Ppl waking up on these racist ppl and lying history.
The media are the biggest liars. The Democrat party is the racist party that these people oppose teaching their kids more racist division and hatred.
@Zack Fair I don’t give a dam about pasty fking cannibal got to say about me when they was the most violent evil spawns evil.
Agreed
All history is half truth written by the victors I'm just going to assume you think white people can't be racist there by making you just as racist as the group you criticize literally by definition of racism
This is great news. I hope ALL Black parents will be able to homeschool or send them to private afrocentric curriculum schools.
RIGHT ON 🤲🏽
I wish I could homeschool my kids
My children are in virtual school. Best decision I ever made! The work load is actually heavier than in person public school. It is in no way easy and requires alot of dedication by parents, but it is DEFINITELY worth it!
The school system teaches you the opposite of what you need to know.
Great segment!
Always one. How on earth can you support legislation that bans teaching the TRUTH?! A whole fool!!
Massa always carry 1 in their pocket to see if we're sleep or not...
Very dynamic story of the day
Man this is beautiful !!!!😻
Proud to have been raised homeschool.
Goddess Bless these families
Arrogant of you to apply a gender to an all-powerful being who would inevitably transcend such a foolish concept but hey you clearly admire Harley Quinn so extremely hard to respect your intelligence
As one of the few black families in our district I chose not to enroll my sun and to remove my oldest. One of the downsides is the further lack of diversity in the homeschool co-ops. I drive an hour to a more populated city for meetups once or twice a month.
Why does this get political 3/4th of the way? The story of the homeschooling family was enthralling enough.
Let’s put an end to this unjust “education “ and one sidedness school system once and for all👏🏽👏🏽 I love this “New Community “🎉
I pulled all my children out of public school. They have never been happier, or healthier.
Make sure the homeboys are not far away with them fire sticks to protect you all. NEVER FORGET ABOUT BLACK WALL STREET.
Yes! This video is right on time! So glad to hear they live where I do too! I have been confused on how to take these steps as a black parent (it’s a shame, but color does matter in this instance).
I'm loving the propaganda insert. CRT is not the same as history. It's not history that's being banned, it's your propaganda.
Yeah, I rolled my eyes when seeing that civil rights history was banned when that is not the case.
Why not fight the laws, vote, instead of segregating yourselves.
GOD BLESS U AND UR FAMILY!!! U GO GURL!!!
I actually will never support stopping to mention the our history is school. It must never be forgotten. Because if we forget, it can happen again!
Black lives matter!
Wish I had had this opportunity. 😪
Imagine being a black family and not being very political but just the idea of learning more about black history and the black experience brings out an angry mob to school board meetings because Facebook says it 'critical race theory' how would they ever feel safe?
