I'm currently using a blood sugar monitor. I was getting a big spike this morning. I had an idea that some of my blood sugar spike is due to anxiety. Then I remembered your Voo video I'd seen a few weeks ago. I did a minutes vooing and by magic my levels shot back down again within 2 minutes! Thank you for this marvelous resource! 🙏

I've been biting into towels and growling, or biting a pillow and hitting the mattress wile growling. Of course I've been told that it's childish behaviour... Might have to wring some towels and tear some paper, and send the critics here.
HI Emily, just from a theory perspective, if someone is in dorsal vagal shutdown, which is a hyper parasympathetic state, how does doing VOO, which would activate the vagus nerve and increase the parasympathetic state even more, help? For example, just as an analogy, if I needed to calm down to fall asleep, and I did VOOO, i see how that can help. But if I'm dead tired and just waking up and need energy, wouldn't doing VOO calm me down.
Voo has a multitude of effects in the body, but the primary one might be moving stuck energy in the viscera. This can stimulate the vagus nerve and change the message that it is sending to the brain from "unsafe" to "safe". So, it can go either way - voo might move energy in the chest/gut and help us feel more alive/present, OR it might move energy and help us feel calmer. It's good to experiment with it in different states and notice the effects on your nervous system.
My understanding is that "om" and "voo" are similar, but "voo" is a lower tone/deeper vibration in the body that can possibly create vibration lower in the viscera.
It's important to pause after every round of "voo" to see what effect it is having on your nervous system. If it feels like it's helping you, you can continue to do it. My training is to bring a "less is more" approach, though, so just be mindful of how your nervous system and belly continue to respond as you play around with the sound.
Yes of course! Yawning is typically a sign that you are moving from a Sympathetic (action-oriented) to Parasympathetic (rest+digest) state in the nervous system. Tears releasing/eyes watering usually represents a small discharge/release of emotion/energy. This all makes sense because "Voo" vibrates the viscera and can help move emotional energy out of the gut so that it can discharge in some way.

My understanding is that "aum/om" and "voo" are similar, but "voo" is a lower tone/deeper vibration in the body that can possibly create vibration lower in the viscera. Of course, if aum is practiced correctly, it also starts low in the belly as a three-syllable sound - but it is not often taught as such in the USA.
Thank you for pointing this out. I did give him credit in the description of the video, but failed to mention him in the video. Yes, Dr. Peter Levine developed "voo" based off of many other verbal/vocal practices spanning many modalities.
This is ridiculous. Has anyone ever seen monks saying “ommmmmmm”???? You can just white wash shit, give it a slightly different sound, and rebrand it omfg… 😂
Hi, Thank you for sharing your impression. I am sorry to have implied that "Voo" was my creation; it is not. It was developed by Dr. Peter Levine who developed Somatic Experiencing based on many spiritual, somatic, indigenous and other practices that have always had an effect on the body. You're correct that "Voo" draws on similar science and concepts as "Om," but it has a slightly different effect in the body. "Om" or "A-U-M" in the yogic tradition moves the sound up from the lower chakras to the crown. "Voo" is focused on vibrating the belly/internal organs to help mobilize stuck energy.
You have a such a kind, warm presence. Thank you!
Thanks for your kind words.
Thank Voooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo for this exercise!

Love this practice. Also... you look like you could be Gwyneth Paltrow's sister!
Haha, that’s a first for me!
Very similar to Om chanting What is the significance of "Voo"?
My understanding is that "om" and "voo" are similar, but "voo" is a lower tone/deeper vibration in the body that can possibly create vibration lower in the viscera.

Thank you. Can I ask why I started yawning and release of tears (not crying) after a few rounds of the "voooo". ?

Same happened to me
funny my golden gave me the eye too!!
Will it heal thyroid issues
I can't say this will heal thyroid issues, but it might help with some of the symptoms.
My cat looks very anxious when i did vooooo. Her tail thick and her ears flat and big eyes. She sat on my lap when i did this voooo.
Hehehe that’s funny. My cat also is extra curious/alarmed when I growl - ha!
Interesting. Wonder why
your awsome from Tamikah the kid

What ever happened to OM?
OM works in a similar way and will likely have a similar effect.
Is practising 'AUM' and Voo the same?

Great... It works much better if you put over the ear head phones on.. It increase the vibrational feel x3...

Seriously knock this crap off. It’s fairly racist and extremely inappropriate!!!!
